If you think this is just a high-priced surge protector, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much better the picture quality is with this device. I'm not an expert in electronics, but this is one of those cases where seeing is believing. I bought one for my bedroom plasma TV and was so impressed with the improvement in picture quality that I bought another for my other plasma TV right away. Yes, it's a fantastic surge protector as well. Nashville, TN native Lynn Stubblefield.
The item was delivered in good condition. There were no issues, and the background was a nice black. I don't use this in my living room for home theater, but I do use it for two-channel audio. On the back, there are plenty of dedicated outlets for amplifiers, preamps, turntables, dacs, and, of course, CD players. The voltage readout on the front of the unit is also useful, though it did inform me that my house power can fluctuate between 120 and less than 115 volts throughout the day. Anyone looking for a high-quality surge suppressor should consider the 3600 or 3600 MK2.
By removing the noise from the commercial power, this equipment actually improved the quality of the picture on my TV.
So far, everything has gone well!.
Mine has been in my possession since 2005, and it is still in excellent condition. In fact, I was on the verge of purchasing the 5100, which turned out to be riddled with issues. This model was superior, but it is no longer available; in fact, Monster no longer produces large power centers at all. I guess they've moved on from that. Panamax won that battle, I guess, because they make smaller ones. This has stage 3 protection, which means there are three separate filters or outlets banks. It also filters cable signals, but I'm not using it in that manner. However, it is the hub for all of my gear. It even has outlets that can deliver high current. It's one of Monster's best-ever products.
I bought mine from Ultimate Electronics in 1995, ten years before the item was available on-line, and it was the best money I ever spent on electronic protection. It's a good thing that there's a line. I took it out of the box, plugged in all of my home theater devices, and it's been running flawlessly ever since. br>In 2005, we moved to an area where a lot of construction was going on, and one of the trenches cut through the main junction, causing massive surges down the line. I had my high-end HTS device on my H T S-100. 3600, and I lost a printer and two computer power supplies in the process. My primary system was unaffected. I see a few of these units for sale, four on Amazon, and I believe it would be worthwhile to get another while they are still available. Excellent work!!.
