Questions & Answers
Yes. It includes everything you'll need to mount the Beam in a seamless manner.
Yes, for mounting, but it depends on the sound bar.
This is only for the SONOS BEAM; we do have Bose 500 wall mounts, but they are currently unavailable.
The plastic piece should have a slight friction fit with these kinds of drywall mounts in general. Basically you should be able to push it 90% of the way in with your thumb but it shouldn’t slide in and out easily with your thumb but it shouldn’t% So, place a drill bit next to the plastic piece and select one that is slightly smaller in diameter than the plastic part; err on the side of caution and select a bit that is slightly smaller in diameter than the plastic part; you can always make the hole larger by using the next size up drill bit. It's much more difficult to close the gap.

I didn't want to spend $60 on the official Sonos Beam, so I ordered this instead. It is true that you get what you pay for, but it does the job. br>br>The mount itself is fairly sturdy, well-made, and includes a wall template as well as some flimsy mounts. The instructions do not specify which drill bit should be used for the mounts, and the company did not respond to a message seeking clarification (hence the three stars). I'm not sure why this wasn't included in the instructions, but that, combined with the lack of response, doesn't give me the best impression. br>br>The installation was relatively simple, but I should have trusted my instincts and used my own drywall mounts. The ones that came with it were a little flimsy, and the screws didn't quite seat correctly, so the mount had some play. It worked out fine in the end and didn't move once I installed the bottom screw mounts, but for $30 you get a $30 mount and half-price customer service.
It's a very sturdy piece with dimples on the bends for added strength. The buzzing rattle between it and the wall cost me a star, so I fixed it below. )br>br>I really like this and think it's a good price. It comes with adequate anchors, but the manual should have specified the drill bit size (I don't recall which one I used, but make sure it makes a very snug hole for the anchor to prevent it from spinning). ) Keep in mind that you must tighten the screws until they become harder, or else the anchor will not collapse properly and the screws will come loose. br>br>After installation, I noticed an obnoxious buzzing rattle caused by the anchors' slight gap between the wall and the mount. I solved the problem with some stick-on felt furniture sliders I had on hand, but it would have been nice if the manufacturer had included a thin die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die-cut die weather strip should be cut- It would be nice to have a sticker for the back. To engage the screws and anchors, I would recommend tightening them before adding the insulation, then removing them and replacing them with the insulation material.
Nic R. deserves a shout-out for his review. If your Beam is going to be showing movies or TV at any semi-regular intervals, You'll need to add padding between the mount and the drywall if there's a lot of it. If you don't, certain deep bass frequencies will cause it to rattle. This is easily fixed by placing 6 or so felt furniture protectors on the back before screwing it all the way into the anchors. These are the same felt furniture protectors that go on the bottom of chair legs to keep them from scratching your floor. As others have pointed out, it would have been preferable if the padding had been included with the mount from the start.
They're one of the most well-known soundbars on the market right now - I've also tried every mount on the market. This is the one I chose because it has the same amount of slot space for screwing to the wall as the factory mount (and much more than some other aftermarket mounts), allows at least one side to hit a stud in almost every case, is plenty strong, and costs about half as much as the factory mount. Given the inherent limitations of any of these mounts (none of them are wide enough to span standard 16"-wide monitors), This mount performs as well as the factory mount and better than the other aftermarket mounts (it requires center wall studs to get screws into a stud on both sides). Even the drywall anchors have been improved recently. It's difficult to make a mistake here.
The mounting hardware that comes with the package is a complete waste of money. The mount appears to be quite sturdy. However, because I can't get it snug against the wall, I haven't mounted my Beam on it yet. br>br>DO NOT mount in drywall with the included mounting hardware. The included screws are just a tad too small to secure the bracket properly. Inside the drywall anchor, they simply spin. So now I have four holes in my wall that I'll have to rip out the anchors, patch, paint, and try again with my own hardware. I intended to use a larger screw to match the included anchors, but they won't fit through the bracket's slots. What a pain. br>br>.
This was the last item to arrive, and it is currently being mounted.
Pros: br>Easy to install; the mounting hardware (which is probably adequate; I used my own), a mounting template to mark the wall, a small level to check things (I recommend a full-size one, but the tiny one included will suffice), and the mount/shelf were all included in the box. In about 30 minutes, one person installed my new sound bar, which included removing my old one. It wasn't difficult; the instructions specify which drill bit to use (though if you're using power tools and can't figure that out on your own, perhaps you shouldn't be using power tools).
- Steel and plastic shelf with a sturdy construction. coated. The Beam is easily supported by the shelf. There is no "rattle" or slackness.
- It looks fantastic, and you wouldn't know it's there.
- The Beam fits perfectly on top of it, and the screws on the underside secure it. The cable management cutout is excellent.
- Value? You bet. This mount is more than 50% less than the official Sonos offering and clearly well made as well as the official Sonos offering and it is clearly well made as the official Sonos br>br>Overall, I give it five stars. This is the mount you want if you need a mount for your beam but don't want to pay the price of the official Sonos mount. br>br>It's a strong buy recommendation.
