Questions & Answers

I'd like to know if this speaker comes with a warranty. ?

I'm not sure if there's a warranty, but I can tell you that it's a fantastic speaker. I recommend this speaker because it works well with my Yaesu FT 8800R.

If it wasn't loud enough for you, was it plugged into an "external speaker" jack or an "earphone" jack?

Because this is an 8 ohm speaker rather than a 4 ohm speaker, it will not be as loud as it should be if you use it in a 4 ohm application (most car sound systems are 4 ohm). I installed this speaker in a Motorola two-way radio in one of our fire trucks that had a bad internal speaker, and it works great so far, even at half volume.

Is the plug straight or is it angled?

Right angle plug, but so far no problems connecting to any radio.

Is this something that can be used on a bike? Is it possible that this is Bluetooth?

There is no Bluetooth - The only thing inside is a speaker, which isn't suitable for use on a motorcycle. That would necessitate a larger, more powerful speaker.

I was surprised by how good the sound quality was
5/5

The perforated metal grille on my speaker was damaged when it arrived. This most likely occurred while the package was being transported. I decided to keep the speaker after listening to it and evaluating its sound and performance. In my Jeep JLUR, the speaker is hidden behind a sun shade and the Sunrider soft top. Moving forward. br>br> A Uniden Pro 520xl CB radio is used in conjunction with the speaker. I only need the volume adjusted to 25% as compared to 100% before with the speaker plugged in as compared to 100% before with the volume adjusted to 25% as compared to 100% The sound is now much crisper and clearer when it comes in. This little speaker is far superior to what I had anticipated or hoped for. I'm taken aback. br>br>This speaker meets all of my CB needs, both on and off the road.

This is a fantastic little speaker
5/5

Surprisingly loud, to say the least. It's important to note that this is an 8-ohm speaker, not a 4-ohm speaker. This was purchased as an external speaker for one of our fire trucks. Because the internal speaker on the radio was insufficiently loud, it was converted to a two-way radio. I had to cut the 1/8" connector off and wire it into a Motorola 16 pin connector, but it was a quick and painless process that took about 10 minutes. It worked perfectly after I plugged it into the back of the radio and turned it on. I was able to turn the radio volume up to an uncomfortably high level while still getting a clear sound. br>br>Note: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "creative Some reviews claim the speaker isn't loud enough, but I believe this is due to the speaker's 8 ohm impedance being used in a 4 ohm application. Most car sound systems are 4 ohm, so this appears to be the case, and while an 8 ohm speaker can be used in a 4 ohm application, it will only be about 1/2 as loud as a similarly sized 4 ohm speaker. This is a fantastic little speaker! Since moving my radio to a different vehicle, I've needed an external speaker, but I've been hesitant to choose one
5/5

The size and sound quality of this small speaker were both major concerns for me, but after reading the reviews, I decided to go ahead and buy it. I'm the proud owner of a Kenwoood TM-Kenwoood TM-Kenwoood In my Discovery II, where the CD changer used to be, the V71A was mounted under the passenger seat, and I had to keep the volume turned up to hear the internal speaker. When you're rolling down the road with large off-road tires, you won't be able to hear it. So, while our local ARES 2 meter net was active last night, I connected this speaker and had to turn the volume down right away. "Wow, that's loud," I thought to myself. The clarity was incredible, and even at maximum volume, there was very little distortion. Because it is so light, the possibilities for mounting it are endless. With a little 3M automotive trim tape and rubbing alcohol on both surfaces, you can stick it to almost anything. You've come to the right place if you're looking for a low-cost external speaker for your mobile setup. You're looking for this one. 73's KK4NZM 73's KK4NZM 73's KK4NZM 73's 73's 73's 73's 73'.

Speaker with a clear, pleasant tone at a low price
5/5

I'm a broadcaster who works with high-end professional audio gear, and I have to say that this speaker sounds surprisingly good for the price. I purchased two of them after reading the reviews on this site, and I was not disappointed. br>br>I have a Yaesu FT2900 ham radio in the car and a Yaesu FT8900 in my house. I've used them with two different handheld scanners as well. In each of these instances, the speaker is set to mono 3. 5 mm (1/8th-inch) The radios' mini plugs were exactly the same size as the radios. br>br>I've never had to raise the volume above 25 percent. 50%. The vocal quality is pleasant in the middle. tonal range; not too tinny, not too loud; It's very pleasant to listen to and isn't harsh in any way. All four of the radios above received a boost from this speaker. In fact, through this speaker, they all sounded pretty much the same to me. br>br>Because of its size and weight, it's ideal for clipping in and moving around. I don't have either of mine permanently mounted because I prefer the flexibility of being able to move them around, especially when I want to hide them in the center console. br>br>I can't really compare it to other brands with more well-known names, but at $13, it's definitely a 5-star product. In my opinion, this is a five-star purchase. More of these are something I'd gladly buy.

Excellent and loud vocal audio, ideal for mobile ham radio
5/5

I needed something more than the internal speaker on my Kenwood v71a mobile transceiver, which is mounted under the passenger seat, as a ham radio operator. Voices were muffled and distorted with the internal speaker at highway speeds and at maximum volume. br>br>The roadpro significantly improved my mobile experience. Even with road noise and music playing, I can pass both audio channels through it and get crisp, clear vocal audio. br>br>The speaker is small and well-mounted to the seat support bar. It's fantastic, and I'm very happy with it.

Audio that can't be used in conjunction with Ham Radio
3/5

I really wanted to like these because they had a small form factor and I needed to crank up the volume on my Yaesu 8800 in my Jeep because it was too loud on the highway and at slower speeds with the window open. I mounted them between the seats on the roll bar, which worked out perfectly. Unfortunately, certain volumes and tones would cause the audio to cut out. I'm not an audio expert, so I can't give you a more detailed description, but it was extremely annoying to listen to, and I've un-installed it. They're in a box in my garage after being installed. I'll use them for a Raspberry Pi project or a kids' school project in the future. I'm using a larger Vertex speaker that costs around $80 and has excellent sound quality, but it's quite large. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I was wrong to blame the speaker for the poor sound quality. When I disconnected the cheap extension cables and connected the speakers directly, the "chirping" stopped. However, they were still too quiet for my needs, so I raised my rating from a 2 to a 3 (Just Okay).

I wasn't expecting much for the price and size of this speaker, but after reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give it a shot
5/5

This speaker fits perfectly beside the CB in my 2022 Cascadia and is significantly louder than the Uniden PC78LTX's internal speaker. It's crystal clear, and I only have to turn up the volume halfway to hear it, as opposed to the CB's internal speaker, which requires maximum volume. Mine has a small dent in the metal cover, most likely caused by shipping, but it has no bearing on performance and doesn't bother me. For the price, it's unbeatable!!.
