Questions & Answers

Do you think it would work with the ?

It may be difficult to select a good place for the clip to be secured. I believe one of the pick-ups that has the gummy attachment would be the best for a ukulele. I wish you the best of luck and keep strumming!

Has the pickup a cable for connecting it to an instrument?

My thanks go out to you for your inquiry. A cable for connecting an instrument to our pickups is not included. Myers Pickups - Gregg Myers

Can you tell me how long the battery lasts?

You asked a great question! Thank you! It is recommended that a single battery last hundreds of hours of playing.

Does the preamp have the ability to connect to wireless transmitter units?

In fact, yes. There is no need for a separate transmitter for our pickups because they are wireless. /Myers Pickups by Gregg Myers

This pick up sounds great on the banjo For a brief background, let me tell you about what we've been doing
5/5

Currently, I work as a semi-private contractor The user was a professional musician working during the day and playing in a bluegrass / folk outfit on the weekends, and he used the banjo pickup for about Playing this pick on an open back, resonator banjo, I used 3 finger style, plectrums, and mostly clawhammers, all of which I used on an open back banjo- The signal is then fed into a Fishman Loudbox / Fishman Platinum Pro which is connected to the DI. I play with an entirely DI group, which means that all of the instruments and vocals are going into the EQ, and I use this pick-up to facilitate that. I was able to accomplish that very well by using up. This image was taken with the Schatten BJ-100 I picked up an 02 Compared to the one up before, which was a transducer type, a condenser mic on the banjo seems to be more forgiving of any accidental kicks you may do on the drumhead for instance, which would result in a popping sound. I found the audio clarity to be very accurate to the sound of the banjo, and I enjoyed being able to experiment with the different locations on the head to affect For the same reason, I recommend that you create a marker for where you want the banjo to be in order to be able to set it up in the same place each time whether you are trying to get the right settings for recording or for live sound. was able to adjust the volume and the level each night without any concern, and I appreciated the fact that I had the ability to adjust my volume and level on my own. Gregg Myers sent me a replacement after I accidentally damaged mine accidentally. I contacted him the next day, and Gregg responded right away to arrange This company provides outstanding customer service!
If you're trying to crack the banjo microphone market, I highly recommend shelling out the extra money for a gooseneck microphone We have tested cheaper and medium priced transducers, and while they can enhance your sound, they are not as good as higher-end models. A perfect replica of your pricey banjo is something that you deserve. The prices on those are also pretty steep. The instrument may also be mic'ed with this as it is easily adapted to a guitar, mandolin or fiddle if you choose to do that. I've been happy with my experience and the help I received from Gregg!.

Review writing is not my forte I read them all the time. Because I am in a band touring, I have no time to comment on all the poorly written reviews I read. The vast majority of people seem to not even be aware of what they are The answer is yes, in this instance. As a sound person for a band I have been running since 2009, I manage sound for a band I run. All sorts of microphone setups have yielded varying degrees of success for me. I find this mic to be very useful and it works perfectly for me. The reasons for this are as follows It is very important that you do not overlook customer support. When equipment is pushed hard enough, dropped, rained upon, or neglected it will fail. Due to the fact that we are on the road half of the year, I have seen a lot of stuff malfunction. It is usually just a matter of buying another and hoping that This device lets you speak to someone who will help you figure out how to use it, how to keep it from breaking if you accidentally damage it, or how to troubleshoot it if you aren't sure what the problem is. In terms of sound, he is entirely different from anyone I have worked with so far. A user can expect that he will stand behind his product 100 percent if you experience a problem, he will not just solve it, he will ask you for your advice on how he can better serve you. This is not because you're a rock star it is because his number is displayed on the website and he actually answers or returns your call within a few minutes. It may seem trivial, but if you take your gear seriously, and can't afford to see anything go wrong on stage, then you know how crucial it is to have someone you can talk to in an emergency. When you can't figure out what's causing the problem, it makes sense to take this step even more seriously. I will be there for you if you need me. Major manufacturers are not likely to answer that. The sound is as follows Since I acquired this mic, I've gotten compliments on our sound beyond what we usually get. The thing that makes us sound so good makes people watch from the side of the stage trying to figure out what the hell we're doing. It is always a point of conversation at each show At no show before did that ever happen unless it was a sound guy or a gear head who wanted to chat up the band. Since adding these microphones, we get people at every show asking how we get the sound we get. We have always had great sound, but now people ask how we do it. Voici how the mics sound The first one is on the double bass and the second one is on the Throughout my career, I've used everything from Neumann condensers to 58s, and have rarely been satisfied with the results. Sound quality is just one of the problems we face in a real-time setting, where we might tear down and set up twice or three times in a day. It is easy to add up all the wear and tear, time it takes to set it up, the weight, ease of setting it up, sound check time, etc. , and one would wonder at some point whether it's worthwhile. are more concerned with sound than the hassle, so I compare mics whenever I change anything, and these mics really stand out. And they are easy to use. We are mic'ing acoustic instruments and trying to make them sound as real as possible, so we are making sure that we do not overdo it. do not use notching, but we do use lower gain levels and digital gates to prevent Notching is hard to hear, so we don't like the sound, since it can be very loud but yet we still feel like it obscures our hearing. Consequently, we need to choose mics that would reproduce the audio as accurately It's not just about the volume, but also the overtones. This mic is equipped with both of those things, but what's critical here is that they can be adjusted easily so that they are positioned the way that we need them. It's hard to keep them upright, hard to get them into position and to hold them once in place, etc. With these things you can do it with just your fingers. Look me up under Qtango we have a lot of videos on YouTube. It would be a simple matter to do these things at $500 each since I know sound and do this all the time. Take a look at one and try it. It's sure to be a hit with you.

The best product we have ever seen! Myers Pickups will take care of you when you buy from them

As a first-time customer I want to give you my thoughts. The Feather pickup is the one I use on Using The Feather for the first time raised three concerns in my mind I found that I had to boost the gain on our PA up quite a bit in order to get any volume, but 3) To control the pickup volume, there is a standard 1/4" jack on the volume control, which is hardwired via a 3 foot cable. As far as I was concerned, clipping the volume control to my belt was the best solution, but that complicated things when switching between playing banjo and guitar (as I do). The Feather should be able to mount on the banjo without having to take it out of the case - I prefer this solution to not have to remove it from the case at all. The Feather seemed to make it impossible to do that. In any case, the following Sunday morning I outlined my 3 concerns on the Myers Pickup website. Almost immediately after I overheard Gregg Myers on my cell phone, he called me back to work through the issues . He believed the gain issue could be due to impedance mismatch and recommended I buy a 1/4" to XLR converter that I already had. With regards to issue no. A different Myers model may be better suited for my purposes according to Gregg How to hold on to the grip Having the pickup connected directly to the volume control makes it more convenient. My friend offered to send me The Grip pickup at no cost for comparison purposes. My order of The Grip model (with a 1/4" to XLR adapter) arrived in just a few days. This is what Gregg believed would be the best approach for me. In addition, I found that the 1/4" to XLR convertor did resolve the gain issue. Not only that, but I discovered that I could still anchor it to the banjo when it's put into its case when not in use. Several of us went to our first gig with the Myers pickup last night - quite an experience! A number of people complimented the sound of the banjo, and I had no problems with it at all. Having been a customer for many years, I am very satisfied. You can feel confident that Myers Pickups will take care of your banjo needs if you play only banjo, but The Feather might be perfect for you if you play only banjo.
