My recommendation is to use a phantom power supply in order to get usable sound quality. Seth McLemore's experience was different from mine (please see his fantastic answer to this question for more information), which may have been the result of With my MacBook Pro, a powered USB hub, and a USB sound card, I plugged the mic into the XLR jack and I was able to hear the sound clearly. This sound card is connected via its supplied USB cable (5.6mm) to the USB sound card (which is plugged into a powered USB hub) and the gain was very In the end, the experiment resulted in an adequate result once I added a Phantom Power Box.
It comes with a cable that has an XLR plug that plugs into the microphone, to a 3/8 or 1/8 jack. The microphone plugs into a 3-pin 3.5mm jack, which is technically able to be connected through your computer's sound card, but since it is a condenser mic, your computer cannot supply enough power to it. To record at higher volumes and with better sound quality, you will need to use phantom power or an audio interface with phantom power. In either case you will need an XLR to XLR cable or a 3 pin cable if you intend to plug it into a mixer. You should use the cord that came with the mic and the converter that converts 5mm to 1/4 inch.
There is a pop filter included in the package
You will need either a phantom power supply or an audio interface that supplies phantom power in order to use this microphone. Since it is a condenser microphone, you will also need a phantom power supply. Compared with the cost of an audio interface, power supplies cost $20, while power supplies are up to $500. In order to use this setup, you would have to purchase an XLR to XLR cable. Plugging in the XLR to XLR into your mic, then plugging it into your audio interface, then plugging it into your computer using a USB cable that is usually included with most audio interfaces, is how it works.

Take 3 hours out of your setup time by reading this! The first thing you need to do is purchase When used with this microphone, a 100 watt amplifier is needed. I think it sounds better in this way. Secondly, you will need to put the microphone in the same position as shown in the image. The black sponge cap is not necessary. The third step is to download Audacity. You can't beat it for free and it's the best audio recording program out there. To make this work, you will need to change the settings for your microphone in your Windows system In order to get the best results, the gain needs to be increased by 20 dB. The fifth tip is to remove the remaining noise in Audacity. You will then achieve perfection! You could have a professional grade studio at your disposal for just $50 if you follow these steps! Can't believe how happy I am.
This set is an amazing deal for $40 since it contains all of these products. This microphone does need phantom power, so keep that in mind when using it. The Neewer Phantom power box, which can be bought on Amazon for around $20, worked for me. when you include that in the total, you still get a great deal. There's no doubt that the mounts that came with this package are of top quality and should last a long time. Neewer mounts are legendary for their good price and great I do think this kit produced far better sound for the money than something like a blue snowball setup, and although the use of this kit is not as elegant because there is no direct USB interface, this kit is still worth the price.
In terms of value for money, you get a good microphone for a good price. The stand, pop filters, and hand sock add to the package. stand, in general, is quite good and stays in one place well. There is very little handling noise, and the shock mount holds the microphone securely without slipping. There is nothing bad about this microphone overall, its not too bright, and it runs smoothly when you plug it in. XLR to Headphone Jack cable included in the box is no good, not that it won't work, but you will need a phantom powered XLR socket for this purpose. With an inline phantom power adapter, it can be supplied at 48v, or with a USB interface like I used with the UM2, it can be supplied via a USB interface. As a test subject, I discovered that it was simply too quiet with a USB sound card feeding it just 5 volts, it improved it, but it was no match for the UM2's clean input with a proper When paired with it, the UM2 is a really clean and quiet console that complements it perfectly. I like the build quality of this mic. The condenser capsule housing the condenser is plastic. However, the condenser itself is larger than a cheap microphone and it performs This grill is pretty sturdy and it has a pretty good finish, but I can't say it's drop proof like some of the expensive ones. Its metal body is not heavy and its finish is good, but it might not be as durable as some of the more expensive ones. However, most of the time, it would hold up very well. Generally, the PCB does well with little flux residue and good component placement. Although there is some hand soldering to the wire connectors, they are wire to pad, not though hole, and there is minimal flux on the PCB. As well as the grill, there is some padding inside of it. The sock or pop filter seems to do a good job when combined with the filter. I think the quality and sound are good for the price. It would be nice if it had a microphone as well. The price alone is good without it, and I thought if I didn't like it, I could upgrade. The software worked well with just some voice over work and for gaming and conferencing. Obviously, it's not as good as Sure or AKG, but for the price, it's hard to beat this.
It is a good buy considering the price is a bit over 30 dollars Having said that, I have a couple of issues thing is the mounting part is very low quality, so eventually it wore through the threads on the bolt and the rubber pad to reduce scratching, so I had to buy a new mount (mostly due to Another problem with this is that the improvement may not be noticeable depending on the quality of built-in microphones or headphone microphones. Two of my gaming laptops have built-in microphones that sound noticeably better than those on my two gaming laptops, but some headsets that I have tried sound almost (not quite, but almost) as good as those on my laptops. In spite of this, I still have no regrets about purchasing it and would recommend it to anyone just getting begun with.
My focus is not on recording professional audio professionally since I do not operate a professional audio recorder. As a mother, I've tried to get my son to record videos for his youtube channel, and I'm going to edit them for him because he's expressed interest in having one (can't make a video without footage!) Video production would be impossible without audio as well! As it turned out I bought this thing, but I had to do some research before I bought it, so I got them and a Behringer Q1202USB 12-inch recorder as well After that, it was adjusting levels in the Channel Mixer. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know what every knob and piece of junk on that board did, so I used OBS and made fake videos to test them! However, I will tell you that the setup, or maybe even the microphone, seems pretty darn great. A nice swing arm is a part of this piece. In the past, I have used clamps on many different There is currently a clamp that has been mounted to a bookshelf (less vibrations on the mike when the mic is not on the same surface as the keyboard). It's just me and my laptop mic, but it seems like everyone else seems eh to me. The lag problem is always present, and the mic problem is never present. There have even been a few times when people say that I sound loud, like my mic is loud, because it is not mentioned by anyone else. This mic can do a lot when paired up with a good board. The volume of everything is affected by it. Is it a problem if you have an excellent video and people are hooked yet the sound suddenly bursts through? The sound takes you out of the moment, so a good mic helps, and personally, what do you recommend? My opinion is that this is a very good microphone.
