Questions & Answers

Are you able to connect this directly to a computer or does it have to go through a sound card?

Mics which use phantom power cannot be simply plugged into the computer without an interface, since it requires phantom power. The Blue, Snowball or Yeti Pro, the Aogee mic, or any other USB condenser mic will do if you just want to plug it into your computer.

Which mic is better - this one or the old one? Does Technica's AT2035 large diaphragm studio condenser microphone have large diaphragm?

Neither mic is high quality, but I think both are good for an entry level studio. This Audio Tech mic is a good microphone, it is built better, but the MXL has a crisp sound in the high-end. However, if you check out the MXL 550/551R Microphone Ensemble, which is a little more expensive than the MXL V64g, MXL has the best sound quality. Audio Tech sounds very similar also. As for me, Audio Tech is a famous brand. Though it is comparable to other brands, I cannot say it is better than other brands. I will always select the MXL brand microphone over any other for residential use. The Rode Mics are my preferred microphones for use in the studio.

Thank you for your response. I'm interested in purchasing Do I also need a shock mount in addition to the phantom 48v power supply and XLR Is Phantom itself a mixer both in its own right, and ?

It is not necessary to have a shock mount with the V67G as it comes with a hard mount, but you may wish to upgrade at a later date. In simple terms, phantom power is just power sent from your computer over a mic cable to power your microphone. In addition to an audio interface or mixer, it may also come from other sources. You would need a Mixer or Audio Interface in order to utilize

Can you tell me what kind of cable it uses?

A balanced mic/patch cable for male XLR to female XLR audio signals

I am very happy with the microphone

The work continues! Then read on! As a professional voice-over narrator, I use this microphone daily, and it performs just as well as more expensive models. The software hasn't presented me with any problems, whether I'm recording character voices or narrating audio books. There is a possibility that this won't be the final step If someone wanted to mic for a studio, the mic would have no problem suiting that environment as well, as it will serve them well for home studios. The microphone has a sensitive cardioid pattern, so if there are large sources of background noise (furnace, fans, etc. ) it may not work well. The name of a famous person, etc. You WILL be able to record what's going on) in a nearby room because the recording WILL pick it up. Unlike most other mics, the V67G has a clear, rich tone which does not require a lot of EQ when I sing. When up close, the proximity effect adds a great depth to the voice without distorting it or requiring too much gain reduction. This microphone is definitely worth the money both in terms of quality and value. The MXL V67G is a condenser microphone, and it requires a phantom power supply and an XLR cable for connection. The quality of the interface is just as important as the quality of the microphone, so do some research to find the interface that is right If you're just beginning, I recommend starting with the Focusrite Scarlet series interface, but make sure you do your own research to find out what works best for you.

This was an incredible deal for the price

Then read on! Despite its lack of Neumann brand, it sounds very comparable with the AKG microphone I used to use and far superior to the Shure 58 Beta microphone I used to use When it comes to recording instruments, I'm not too crazy about it, but for vocals and Facebook live recordings, it's hard to beat for the price. Since a few years ago, technology has made great strides. A friend of mine and I used it recently to lay down a lead vocal track in her recording studio, and we were both surprised at how good the sound is. Its sound is almost just as good as those in the $500 to $1000 range, but it costs much less. Watch the video above for more details.

The best value on the market
5/5

When I was a young man, I once walked into a Grammy-giving I was in an award-winning studio to record a couple of tracks with my band. While I was there, the engineer put me in a really cool vocal booth that had The microphone has a mesh windscreen made of gold mesh and is green in color. This was the first time I had ever heard my voice sound so crisp and gutsy. My assumption was that I was singing into a brand-name microphone worth a lot of money. In response to my question, the engineer pulled me aside and told me, "I have something to tell you. ". It wasn't long before he told me the price of this awesome microphone was As a result, I was shocked. Despite all the fabulously expensive mics he had at his disposal, this was the one he chose. He was right in his assessment. Several years later, we find ourselves in the present. After researching the MXL 67G for some time, I finally decided to add it to my It continues to impress me how much great sound it makes. For me, it is the only microphone I need. Among the many uses for this device, I've also found that I like using it for 12" An acoustic guitar with stringed instruments. Clarity, cleanliness, and brightness are all evident in the recording. My favorite is easily better than others I own that cost five or even six times as much. This microphone seems to fit everything. Is it right No, you cannot. Although it's very pleasing to listen to, it's a bit harsh for an instrument (such as a saxophone). When playing the sax I use the sE Voodoo VR1 ribbon microphone. For lots of things, such as fluting, trumpeting, and handling percussion, I still turn to my Audio Technica 4033a. The MXL 67G is exactly what I'm looking for for my vocals, but it may not provide you with the best results for yours. But I will insist that it does work for me. The price is right for this microphone and it's the best you'll find. There is almost no doubt about It's a great weapon to have in your arsenal and you will never regret it.
NOTE If you purchase the microphone, make sure to include the MXL 57 Shockmount (sold separately) in your cart as well. This microphone is VERY sensitive. You will need the MXL 57 Shockmount most of the time.

This is amazing
5/5

Are pro mics necessary? There is no. Are we done? Yep, pretty close to the mark. It looks like a Neuman U87, doesn't it? There is no. While it is modeled after one (including the electronics and components), it is fairly different in its size and appearance. This is a large capsule mic, so you'll need a quiet environment in order to use it, since it is sensitive. Having a broad range of sound available to you as well as the ability to mod the mic, it's one of the simpler mics to use and, out of the box, pretty darned awesome to use. It works extremely well with a Rodecaster pro setup, and it also looks great. We use them for a podcasting studio. This recording AND look has to be of a high quality. MXL, you did a good job.

I cannot believe what I've just seen! In a good way, of course
5/5

Here's what I want to say According to what I heard, this microphone was not intended This is wrong! I have been blown away by how much better the sound is than any other microphone I have heard. While I possess an AT2020 for podcasting, I needed another mic to use in collaboration with my partner Because I did not want to go over the budget of my host, I expanded The day I came across this gem was a lucky one for me, and boy was I surprised that it could mimic the quality of a $100 microphone when mixed correctly. The tests showed that they were working great for my hearing, so I recorded multiple checks to see if everything was okay. It will not break the bank, neither will it empty your wallet, and it sounds fantastic too, so for anyone recording vocals or pretty much anything else, this is a great value to consider. It is a pleasure to work with MXL. Thanks for making such an amazing.

An excellent product at a reasonable price
4/5

The mic is much better than it should be at its price, even more so since I purchased mine for $89 rather than $150. Even though it is part of the MXL V 67 family, it bears no resemblance to any of the other V67 large diaphragm microphones. It is reported that these mics use two small diaphragm capsules that are the same as those employed by the MXL 603s and 604s. Also, the preamps inside the small LDC V 67 mics are different from those in the large ones. The Mic is significantly quieter than my V67 G right away, I just knew this right away. As a result, this mic should be seen as basically a pair of SDC's like the 603s and 604, respectively. In the end, it does have a well-rounded overall presentation without a considerably It seems smooth and pleasing to me, though there is some rise up there. It would be unfair not to say that I prefer this mic to my Shure VP 88 stereo mic about eight times the price. The Shure mic is overly noisy and does not produce a strong low-end. I'm telling the truth, our V67Q makes it all look like a piece of shite. It has been discontinued according to what I know at the time Pick one up while you can at the blowout prices they are being offered! If you are looking for a very good and useful stereo mic, pick one up now!.
