Hello, I'm not sure if it's a short, medium, or long, but the one I bought is 3 3/4 inches long. It's fantastic! It is both movable and stable.
I'm not sure what you want to know. If your boat already has a 1" ball, you won't need this mount.
Yes. Look up ram mount extension arm in the online dictionary.
No, it only comes in one size; if you need a longer arm, look at other products.

HOL- GA16U Plastic Cradle is a type of cradle that is made of plastic. These are what I bought to attach my ETrex Vista to my Emotion Mojo Angler kayak. I wasn't sure how well this would work because I couldn't find a mount designed specifically for my needs or any reviews that mentioned mounting it on a kayak. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! br>br>Both pieces have a very solid construction and were clearly designed to work in perfect harmony with one another. I needed something small because there's only so much room to move around in a kayak, especially when fishing. The metal's powder coat finish appears to be weather resistant, and I have no doubt that the hardened plastic will withstand a paddle whack or two. This surface mount does not include screws, but the cradle does. A set of anchor screws would have been helpful, but they were only a few dollars at the hardware store. br>br>I'll upload some pictures later. *Cradle

Because of the heat on the windshield, my Hopkins backup system wouldn't stay on. When I called them, they said there was no other way to keep it. I came across this mount and tweaked it to fit the display. It now functions flawlessly and remains in place. Thanks.
I can't recall the last time I was so happy with a purchase. Other universal mounting systems for various phones, as you may be aware, are complete garbage. I purchased the RAM after breaking my previous mount. I used SS sheet metal screws to secure it to a blank spot on my dash, then taper headed machine screws to secure it to an extra otter box belt holster I had for my moto droid bionic (yeah, I'll be upgrading soon). As a result, I have a dock that perfectly fits my phone and is securely attached to the dashboard. This set-up is fantastic. The RAM components are ABSOLUTELY STRONGER THAN THEY APPEAR. The end plates are thick and meaty, made of aluminum. The armature is made of a tough plastic that outlasts most other materials found in cell phone accessories. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and the RAM system as a whole.
I needed a RAP-related extension. 299- 2U RAM- I bought a mounting ball and an A-CAN cupholder mount. br>RAM is a type of computer memory that can be used to store information. Because it was the right length, included the ball I needed, and included a bonus flat plate, the 138U Double Ball Flat Surface Mount was ideal. What's not to like about that?br>br>BTW. I noticed that the ball has a rubber or plastic coating on it and that it deformed under the clamp's pressure, but that the material "heals" itself if left unclamped for a while, so I assume that this deformation allows for a more secure fit after clamping. Overall, purchasing the components in this manner was a great deal (purchasing the items separately would have been more expensive).
It was well-made and serves its purpose admirably. Mine serves as a small security monitor for me. Because there's no way to screw it to the back of the monitor, I used strong epoxy glue, which worked perfectly. Be sure to let it dry completely before applying any weight or pressure. br>br>Because the top mounting plate is a little small, I used two screws to attach the bottom (larger) plate to the monitor and the top (or smaller) plate to the wooden base. This is a light-to-light type of situation. I wouldn't use it for anything weighing more than a few pounds if it's going to be subjected to a lot of vibration or strain, like in a vehicle. It has a wide range of motion and is simple to adjust.
I use this mount to carry a 5" Garmin Nuvi 1450 GPS on both my snowmobile and side by side. It really works.
This is an excellent product and the most cost-effective method of purchasing the necessary components. It's on my motorcycle, boat, and snowmobile, among other things. It makes changing things a breeze. over a variety of GPS units In any application, there are no issues with stability. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that it did not come with any screws (for mounting to a surface or on the back side of the GPS bracket). I had matching black screws of the correct length only because I saved "parts" from previous mounts. Don't skimp on the "Ram Mount," throw in a few screws!.
This RAM piece is a fantastic way to obtain extra components. This item includes a diamond mounting plate, a round mounting plate with both an AMPS standard rectangular pattern and an equilateral triangle hole pattern, and a medium length 1" ball clamp arm if you're putting together a RAM mounting system that may have multiple different things mounted. The total cost is comparable to the individual pieces, and it qualifies for Prime shipping (at the time of my order)! This makes it simple to obtain a critical piece for a project that is only missing one piece.
