Maintains the phone's position even in the most difficult conditions. This is a sturdy mount with a rubber 'tether' net in case things get a little hairy. If you're mounting to plastic, you'll need to drill two holes in the base, and you'll also need a couple of small fender washers. It takes two hands to put a phone in the mount (one to hold the phone and the other to open the spring-loaded arms), but it's worth it because it keeps your phone visible and off the floor.
I won't have to look for my phone if it falls out of the holder while I'm driving. In my truck, it's mounted on my RAM Desk laptop mount. A double ball adapter and a 2 have been added to the mix. 42" x 1. 75" socket arm with a low profile. I can position the phone in an ideal position for road travel using the two arms and the double ball adapter. It outperforms any vehicle mount I've ever used by a long shot. br>br>Right now, I'm using a Samsung Note 9* with an Otterbox Defender case (a heavy-duty case). The only problem I've had is aligning the phone on the mount so that no buttons are pressed. It takes some practice, but it can be done. That's the only thing I've got to say about it. That was my only issue (which I was able to overcome).
This thing has an excellent grip on my iPhone XS Max. It's quite large, and I don't believe it's designed for phones, but it grabs my iPhone just at the corners when it's in a case, so I don't have any problems with it pushing the volume and lock buttons, as other reviewers have mentioned. Even when I'm riding in a car and doing wheelies, I don't have to worry about my phone falling out. Holds up exceptionally well. I purchased a six-inch arm extension, which causes it to sway slightly on the highway but is barely noticeable. There was very little movement in the arms that came with it.
All I have to do now is decide whether to keep the bracket I bought separately or drill holes in the dash.
This was the first RAM mount I had ever bought. From now on, I will only use their products. I put a Kawasaki Teryx on it about six months ago, and it's been fantastic. I have an iPhone 6 plus with an otter box, and it works perfectly.
I'm a huge fan of these mounts. This is the second one I've done for myself. The ram mount itself is extremely durable and has shown no signs of giving up after 5 years. I'm not confident in the two small screws that must be used to secure it to the dash plastic of my RAM truck. To make it bomb proof, I recommend using an even layer of clear gorilla glue.
I'm using it on a Vespa, and it's attached to the mirror stem with a small rail mount I had to buy separately. This could be the best (and possibly only) solution to the mount issue. I don't like how tall the whole thing is, and how far the phone sticks up and out. It, on the other hand, does not move and firmly grips my Pixel.
