Questions & Answers

This would be very useful if you could convert it. What are the pros and cons of choosing ?

It is not necessary for you to have An adapter from this brand makes it possible to connect a PS2 mouse or keyboard (or both) to a USB port on a PC. You use the PS2 connector on your mouse or keyboard (or both) to connect it to the PS2 connector on the adapter, and then you attach the USB connector on the adapter to a computer USB port. These days, most mice and keyboards are either wireless or USB, so you only need this adapter if you have an older PS2 mouse or keyboard that you want to use with As part of the process of building a new computer recently, I had to buy this adapter so that I could get into the BIOS during Power On Self Test (POST), which requires users to press F2 or Delete. The wireless keyboard is not enabled until after the POST process is over During POST, USB ports are enabled, but I do not have a USB keyboard, so I had to connect an old Playstation 2 keyboard to a USB port on the computer by way of the adapter, in order to enable the keyboard during the POST procedure. It is my hope that this explanation helped.

Can a Microsoft keyboard from the 90s be used with this?

The answer is yes, I believe. Powered my mouse and keyboard perfectly after connecting them. I used them on a 10 year old mouse and keyboard.

Do you think this could work for an Xbox that utilizes a usb keyboard with a PS2 keyboard?

Neither my Xbox nor this converter have worked well with the XBOX, but it worked well with a PS2 mouse connected to a PC through the USB port.

If I buy a double usb female hub, can I connect this one to it and will Can I use my keyboard and mouse at the same time (plugging both ?

That's a really good idea, and I agree with what you said. In the same way, I am going to act.

Quite an affordable converter
4/5

I hope you read this review. I am pleased to report that this product is an active converter, as advertised. It works on every keyboard I have used so far. It's the Model M for IBM, the Focus FK for Focus The 2001 age group and the FK category I have countless old domes with slider keyboards dating back to the early 2000s. The software isn't perfect. Every now and then (very rarely), it seems to take a while for a key to release. Since this is rare enough and the keyboards I've been using are old enough, I cannot fault the converter any more than I can blame the keyboard's membrane/PCB. It is a very minor issue and I rarely ran into it enough to become frustrated. Please, take the time to read the following information before you order Products may not come in packaging branded with the UCEC logo. In the first instance when I received my order, it did not work (my computer would not recognize it, and it kept heating up quite a bit), and when I looked at the packaging, I saw that it had been The SEK system rather than the UCEC system. As it turned out, I needed to contact the seller, who confirmed it was still the J-unit just rebranded with UCEC branding Swedish krona. I was not completely convinced when they sent me a replacement, but they sent me the exact same J-shaped replacement The packaging (SEK) has been my daily companion for 3 months now. What are the chances that it is not the same product that was advertised as the UCEC converter? Although yes, this is such a generic product that even if this is the case, it is still a quality PS/2 to USB active converter that does the job, so I think that's all that matters here.

What a true converter looks like With an IBM Model M keyboard, this USB to PS/2 keyboard / mouse splitter works great on Mac OS
5/5

Not all keyboard / mouse splitters are There are few true converters available, but most plug adapters are available. The vast majority of them, of course, are simply generic- There is absolutely no driver support for these, and they are branded, making them difficult to research. This situation is even more complicated when you want to use this on a Mac. It turns out that this specific item would, indeed, work with a Mac after a considerable amount of research. I had to go mostly by the picture and the long (2-word) description since there are only a few brand names On the USB end of the cable, there was an eight millimeters (two inches) thick piece, indicating this was an actual converter, which I needed to use my IBM Model M with my Mac. On occasion it does glitch out, and I have to tap the ALT key a few times (mapped to the command-key on the Mac) to fix the issue, but this is relatively Here's a tip The ALT button on my 20+ year old Model M keyboard is now CTRL, and CAPS LOCK is now control (a function very rarely used by Apple products), as well as pause and scroll lock as brightness up and down. It was much cheaper to do this than to purchase a modern Mac computer This Model M should be compatible with My favorite keyboard Adapter out there is the Unicomp clicky keyboard ($120+) and I would recommend it over all other generic-style adapters We are talking about brand names here. There may be a way to get by with a budget-friendly alternative to PCs and Windows I would recommend getting this converter instead of the ready-made adapter and knowing that you have a product that can be used on various computers without requiring any installation. The rest of my life was not so bad A logitech USB drive and a brand They did not work at all with macOS when using a PS2 adapter. * Even if you do not care about Mac, I have plenty of USB-based business Over the years, PS2 adapters have become less and less common, and sometimes they do not even work with particular makes or models An efficient converter like this one is the smartest decision you can make.

There is no better way! It is sheer and I give it a * for sheerness Despite its sheerness, it isn't stiff or brittle
5/5

The good thing about this product is it has a good just too much thickness in this product.
I give this a ***** overall rating because it is a very good product.
I have an old Kinesis keyboard. It was given to me by one of the best employers I ever had. Its surface has been soaked in water and has been washed so many times that I've typed hundreds of thousands of lines of code on it. I've disassembled it over and over again, soaked the key caps, washed every part of it. As suggested by the It's a bit lazy to turn the key, the 'C' needs some polishing and lubrication, the contacts in the Back-Need to be cleaned A space key switch was reshaped after it was mangled. Traditionally, this product uses an old, original PC connector, a large, 5 pin DIN plug. In the past few years, I have added a PC to PS2 adapter to my collection. At the age of 70, when I felt the urge to write some code again, the dusty and filthy Kinessis emerged. Let's finish this restoration, and we're on our way. I was also required to use a USB adapter to get it to work. The others I tried failed to produce any results. However, the one he had This is the device I am using to type with, connected to my new all-Amazon computer builds. As you can see, I do not lack If you have an old keyboard lying around, you might want to pick up two of these The one you are using, as well as one to use if and when the one you are currently using is destroyed. Don't be afraid to take risks It can be found for a very modest price, and it works extremely.

I can now use my old keyboard again
5/5

The new keyboard that came with my computer was not to my liking, but the old keyboard I like has a PS connector, rather than a USB one. With this converter, I can use my old keyboard. This means fewer typos and a more comfortable typing experience. I was impressed with the speed of delivery A converter that works right out of the box was included in the price of the product, and it was delivered within a week. The difference between this and an adapter is that this is not A keyboard adapter does not convert the signals going from the keyboard to the computer and when I tried one, my computer did not recognize it.

As promised, the package arrived
3/5

I've gotten it to work with a PS2 keyboard and mouse to operate the raspberry Pi, but sometimes it's "flaky" in that the mouse doesn't work after the switch. This is frustrating. The next step will be to try this on a few more IOT class computers to see if it is this adapter or the "new" Raspbian Buster software that is the problem.

Update Over the next few days, it became even less reliable, not activating the mouse during reboots. Also, the script would automatically type strange characters after switching terminals if a terminal had the focus after the switch, and even caused my KVM switch to malfunction, causing a second system to lose video. It also took the same amount of time when it ran Ubuntu 16 and Ubuntu 18.

Issue is not limited to Raspbian Buster, same problem with it running Ubuntu 16.
