Questions & Answers

Can two mice use one output if this is implemented?

My understanding is that this is not the case. There is a mouse in there and a keyboard It involves the keyboard and

Are you able to use this ?

I see no problem using the ThinkPad with a PS/2 adapter as long as it has one.

My motherboard is an ASUS Hero XI. Can a ps/2 combo port supply enough power for both a usb keyboard and mouse? I need power for leds, etc. ?

No, I do not believe it will. It's been a while since I've tried a splitter so I decided to give yours a shot No matter how hard I tried, I was unable to get both mine and the keyboard together You need to work with your mouse. don't know if it was caused by a bad splitter or if the motherboard didn't provide sufficient power. If I went to the keyboard or mouse, either of them worked separately, but neither worked simultaneously.

Does this adapter fit into a hybrid PS/2 port, the kind on the motherboard that has a purple and a green socket?

Keeping the KYC1MF connected to a combo port which accepts both keyboard and mouse signals at the same time will offer you the best performance. However, you may need to confirm with your motherboard manufacturer whether you really have a combo port or a hybrid port which takes only one signal. *Brand new to StarTech! Matt. Worked fine until I tried to hook it up to my Asus Z390 I have a new motherboard
3/5

I have an Asus Z390 The majority of motherboards have combo ports, which require a splitter if you would like to attach a keyboard and Thus, I purchased this since I thought they could not possibly screw up something so simple. They did, I guess. You need to plug the mouse into the mouse receptacle and the keyboard into the keyboard receptacle and you're ready to go. Not a thing. A missing keyboard is reported upon system startup. If Windows is launched, the mouse is inoperable. The connection of a keyboard and mouse can be reversible, according to someone. Using this splitter, I only found that the mouse would work on the keyboard jack, but the keyboard didn't Thus, I have no use for it. Money was wasted in the end.

The combination connector on my Asrock motherboard is a PS/2 combo socket
3/5

I was hoping that this would allow me to use my PS/2 mouse and PS/2 keyboard and share that connector, but I couldn't get it to work. I gave up after a while and Considering that this could be connected to a motherboard issue, it would be unfair to rate this only 3 stars. On the other hand, why do we have these splitters and motherboards with combo PS/2 sockets when they do not.

There should be no stars for this
3/5

It wouldn't work at all on the green side when I got one of these. I had to send in for a replacement, and that arrived in two days (the only positive thing about this transaction), but it's exactly the same as the old one. In the purple side, the keyboard or mouse are able to be plugged in in the green side, the keyboard or mouse won't be able to work. Both the keyboard and mouse are connected directly to the PS2 port on the computer, and they both work well. It's the cable that is not working properly.

I think there is something When I tried to use the mouse, I wasn't able to do so
3/5

It was replaced with another one after I returned it. The problem is the same. When I tried plugging the mouse into the keyboard jack, it didn't work. I was able to connect the mouse, but the keyboard wouldn't work. My mouse jack won't work at all, even when there's nothing plugged into the keyboard jack. I don't know what the odds are that both splitters are bad.

Installation problems may arise in some cases
3/5

It is said to be Manufacturers don't appear to implement the standard by the same means for combining a PS/2 mouse and keyboard for use with a computer or docking station. A defect can be found in the manner in which data and clock signals of one of the devices are handled A second pin (2 and 3) is mapped to the two nominally unused ones The single 6-count has six of the single 6-count A pin mini-sized device An integral part of the computer is the DIN connector. You may need to swap keyboard and mouse receptacles if this "Y" splitter cable does not work with the keyboard and mouse plugged into the appropriate receptacles. You must plug in the mouse into the keyboard jack and the keyboard into the mouse jack. The technique may not work in all installations due to the fact that this particular splitter cable connects all six pieces of the keyboard receptacle to the male plug, rather than omitting the connections for pins 2 & 3 This is followed by 6 that are reissued Data and clock signals associated with the mouse have been mapped. In this case, if the device attached to the keyboard receptacle has internal connections to these pins, it could result in a conflict with the signals sent by the device attached to the mouse receptacle, resulting in one or both of the devices not working. The Star Tech design would have been better if the pins 2 and 3 had remained The keyboard connectors 6 and 7 are not connected.

This works really well
5/5

On the new motherboard I bought, there was only one PS/2 socket, so I had to use a legacy PS/2 mouse and keyboard to keep it compatible. It used to be that my old keyboards and mice had their own connectors. Despite the fact that I had to reverse the keyboard and mouse from what the adapter indicates, I managed to get everything to work. That isn't a big deal at all.

The mouse doesn't work on the ASUS Hero XI combo port
3/5

I used a very simple PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse to make sure that the power supply on the ASUS Hero XI combo port was working properly. By using this cable, the keyboard works all the time. When using these various mice, the LED on the keyboard would not be powered. As well as the mouse buttons, none of them were working. My guess is that the issue lies with ASUS and Windows 10 and not with the cable, which appears to be extremely well built. The registry i1042prt was also changed to =1, but that did not make a.

You shouldn't buy this until you have read this! In order to access two PS2 devices on one motherboard, you will need a motherboard with two PS2 sockets
3/5

Many motherboards are wired so that they can only use one device at a time. When there is only one device, only two pins are used, but when there are dual purpose devices (such as a mouse and keyboard), two additional pins are used. Using this splitter, you can move one of those devices to those otherwise unused pads. The problem here is that if your motherboard isn't wired to those pins the solution will not The fact that this is not specified diminishes its score by one star.
