Questions & Answers

What is the purpose of the mode button? Is it a programmable button once more?

It alternated between 3 and 6 button mode on the original 6-button Genesis controllers. You can think of it as a second button on this controller, similar to how Nintendo controllers have a select button.

Will a Raspberry Pi be able to use this as well? I just wanted to make certain! ?

Yes, if you have Retropie and Emulation Station installed, it will appear as a USB Gamepad. The buttons, however, will need to be configured manually.

How do I switch from dinput to xinput input mode?

A small manual was not included with my controller. When connected, the controller is set to dinput mode. Hold the Start button down for about 5 seconds to switch to xinput input mode. The dinput appears to be a USB Gamepad. xinput is displayed as an X-shaped symbol. Controller for the box. When you reconnect the controller after rebooting the computer or disconnecting it, it will be in dinput mode.

Will the Nintendo Switch be able to use this?

I'm just responding to let you know that they now do. I recently used it to play Sonic Mania on the Switch. It's all going great.

You've found the controller you've been looking for! That's fantastic! It's fantastic from beginning to end
5/5

It works flawlessly with our Raspberry Pi, with our Super Retrocade, and on our computers! It's the same as if you went into a store today and bought a brand new Sega controller. Retro kudos! Bit!.

Although there is no turbo, the controller is excellent
5/5

My package arrived a day ahead of schedule (thank you, Amazon!). ) so I had a great time on Saturday night playing some old Genesis classics, including Sonic, NBA Jam, Super Hang On, shooters like Steel Empire, and run 'n guns like Mega Turrican and Gunstar Heroes. This is an excellent controller. It's a joy to hold in your hands. The pad is extremely tight and responsive, and the buttons have a satisfying tactile feel when pressed. I also like the official Sega branding on the controller. br>br>I then used this controller to play some Nintendo games like Contra and Over Horizon, as well as SNES games like UN Squadron, which may be sacrilegious. It was an amazing adventure. The absence of Turbo is a negative. If I could get the same controller with Turbo for $5-$10, I'd do it. I'd pay $10 more in a heartbeat. The cord could also be more flexible and supple, even though it is quite long. Given the low price, I can't take away a star for either of these minor flaws; this is a fantastic controller for the money. br>br>I've collected a number of controllers, each of which has its own set of advantages and disadvantages - (D-) Xbox 360 Xbox Elite (nice, better D-pad), Xbox 360 (mediocre at best), Xbox 360 (mediocre at best), Xbox 360 (mediocre at best), Xbox 360 (mediocre Dualshock 4 (Great controller, very nice d-pad), Dualshock 3 (Great controller, very nice d-pad), Dualshock 2 (Great controller, very nice d-pad), Dualshock 3 (Great controller, very nice d-pad), Dualshock 4 (Great controller, very nice d-pad), Dualshock 4 (Great pad, but it requires a third-party app like input Mapper to work with Windows), and the 8bitdo N30 pro 2 (a very nice wireless controller with Turbo, D-pad, and other features). L thinks the pad is a little too small. It's difficult to use the R buttons). This could be my new go-to controller. to be used as a controller for retro games Out of the three D pads I mentioned, this one has my favorite. While the lack of wireless connectivity may be viewed as a disadvantage, wired connections can result in lower latency and input lag, as well as a higher "it just works" factor. br>br>Overall, I'm glad I added this to my controller collection. It'll be my go-to source of information. to a retro controller, particularly for the Sega Genesis It's also a great Sega Saturn controller thanks to the shoulder buttons. Due to the fact that this is a well-known brand, the price is extremely reasonable. constructed and well-maintained a well-executed technological feat I only wish it had turbo for some shooters, but otherwise, this controller is fantastic. Good luck with your game!.

For decades, SEGA's most ardent fans have wished for
5/5

So far, the see-through has had a one-week evaluation. through the use of a blue USB gamepad - This is a fantastic controller for PC and Android game emulation. Your mileage may vary depending on the emulator and how it handles USB controllers, but for most systems that can handle this type of button and d-pad, this method should work fine. You can't get much better than this when it comes to a pad layout. The L that has been added The R buttons on the top are a nice touch, and they work well for GBA, GBC, and SNES configurations. The build quality and extra-long cord are both well-made components. This controller FEELS EXACTLY like the original 2nd-gen Sega Genesis/Mega Drive controllers (not the smaller kid-sized ones), and the d-pad is the same size as the original 2nd-gen Sega Genesis/Mega Drive controllers (not the smaller kid-sized ones). The pad is EXACTLY what it says it is. Fighting games and any version of Tetris you can think of work flawlessly across platforms. I couldn't imagine any kind of lag affecting my input or reactions. I'll post an update once I've tried out more Android, PC Steam, and console games. It comes in high-quality packaging that makes you believe they used a time machine to teleport the controller into your hands. Retro- Bit should include a Flash USB memory card slot or a MicroSD card slot so that we can take our games with us wherever we go. br>br>Editor's Note: This article has been updated. For PC game emulation, it's still a fantastic controller. Some games or emulators may not always cooperate with it, but when they do. . . it's fantastic. It works with the Master System and Genesis, as well as the NES, Atari 2600/7800, MSX/MSX2, and SNES (with the added L). Games are also aided by the R buttons).

Grown- Retroflag's version has been enlarged, but it lacks some of the features of the Retroflag version
3/5

Okay, I'll do my best to explain what's going on. It works great on Retropi, but it would be nice to have a button combination to switch Z with L and C with R (this is done by holding select=Right and Left for 3 seconds). This way, you can have the correct button layout for fighting games like Killer Instinct on the SNES emulator, but when you load up say F-Zero, you can have the correct button layout for fighting games like Killer Instinct. You'd still have the shoulder buttons for sharp turns if you were at zero. br>br>Now that that's out of the way, yes, I docked three stars because of it; however, the size is correct, and the only advantage this controller has over the Retroflag controller is that it fits my hands. Retroflag's controller is modeled after a smaller Japanese 6-button controller, and this one is the big manly sized US version. I wish I could remove the Retroflag controller's PCB and fit it into this case, but I can't because the screw posts are slightly different. The Retroflag appears to be a carbon copy of the original 6 button Genesis controller's screw posts, though this one differs slightly. If you're playing on a PC, this shouldn't be an issue because switching the button layout between games is only a drop-down menu away. on the menu, but it's a pain on a retro pie. I don't use this on my retropi; instead, I use the retro flag controller, but I do use it on my computer. br>br>I wish Retrobit would add this feature or Retroflag would make a US-sized controller; both are excellent controllers, and I'd probably dock Retroflag the same amount for making theirs so small.

This is a fantastic controller that feels like it came from the factory
5/5

I just got this controller today and tried a few of my favorite Genesis and NES games via RetroArch for an hour, and I have to say, it is by far the best USB controller I have ever used. This is a must-have if you're a fan of the original 6 Button Genesis controller, which I own and enjoy, and you're looking for something to use with emulators. Of course, I can't speak for its long-term viability, but it feels just as sturdy as the original. It has the same feel in the hands, and the cord is soft but heavy. I chose the blue color, which is stunning.
