This controller is ideal for playing old N64 games on a PC, though it took me some time to set it up. Like others have said, I had to unplug it a couple of times before it started working, but it's been great since then. The new layout looks great on the controller, and having the Z button act as both a left and right trigger gives you a little more control over the game. One thing to keep in mind is that each Z button is its own button, allowing you to program each one to do something different. The only criticism I have (and this is purely subjective) is that the controller is a little too small for me. It's perfectly usable, but it's a little too small for my hands. The controller would be perfect if it were a little wider, but other than that, I can highly recommend it. It functions admirably.
The N64 is a fantastic machine. br>I want that joy to last forever, so these controllers allow me to experience it on a non-stop basis. Devices for the Nintendo 64 Furthermore, they have an arcade-style layout, so fighting game fans rejoice!br>And there are two! Give one to a friend and spend hours reminiscing about your old games! What an incredible epoch to be alive in.
I've been looking for something like this for a long time. They're inexpensive, and the construction appears to be of good quality. It goes well with retro pies. There's a slot beneath the controller that appears to be for a rumble pack, but it's clearly not used for anything.
I bought the USB version because I believe it is how the original N64 controller should have been made.
This is the controller for those who are used to the newer layout of controllers but still want to play some Retro N64 games! It's incredibly simple to set up; simply plug it in and go. I had to repeat the process twice for the computer to recognize it correctly, but it was only a minor annoyance. It's been a few hours since I've used it and it's fantastic. I'd like to use a Raspberry Pi with this, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
These are fantastic if you want to play N64 on your emulator with some throwback controllers.
I'd purchase it again.
However, when I discovered that the rumble pack port was only for show, I was shot down.
