Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with the Mac M1 and Mac OS X?

Yes, it works with M1 and Macs.

Is it possible to use a Chromebook with this?

It's a Bluetooth gamepad with instructions on how to connect it to a computer. A chromebook, I believe, will be provided.

What features does it lack in comparison to a Switch Pro controller? (motion, gyro, amiibo, high-definition rumble, and so on)?

Because you essentially listed all the missing features in your question, it appears that you already understand what this lacks in comparison to the Nintendo controller, but I'll explain anyway: br>br>"Because this controller doesn't have NFC support, it won't be able to read amiibo." There's no rumble, and there's no 3rd axis detection (motion control) either. br>br> Despite the fact that this controller lacks those features, the trade-off is worth it. first, almost all inputs can be set to turbo on the fly, and this controller is far more comfortable than the OEM pro controller in my opinion. This controller also comes with a decent rechargeable battery, but you can replace it with x2 (each) AA batteries if you prefer. I've used turbo in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Pokémon sword and shield, and it's great.

Why isn't it working with my iPad?

It works with iOS devices. You'll need a type-c cable, and I believe it'll only work with the iPad Pro.

A quick look at the controller
4/5

Pros: br>Excellent controller for the money, with a solid build and pleasant button feel. It also looks better in black than it does in the other colors. The customization program, which allows you to customize dead zones, trigger sensitivity, and macros, is also a great feature to have. However, there are drawbacks, such as the inability to customize on-the-fly while in-flight. In addition, for some reason, macros appear to be unable to be used on the trigger buttons. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>The cable that comes with it is far too short; an 8bitdo blunder. There is also some creaking on the right trigger, but it goes away after use, which can be irritating. Finally, I'm having trouble keeping Bluetooth synced; it frequently disconnects; Bluetooth needs to be tested further. Overall, it competes with Microsoft and Sony controllers in terms of price. I would recommend this controller to anyone in the market for a new one.

a score of 0 After reading so many positive reviews about the controller, I felt compelled to purchase one to try it out for myself
3/5

Unfortunately, I have mixed feelings about it. br>br>However, I like how the controller feels in my hands; it grips better than other controllers! My issue is with the handles; they are short because they wanted to keep the oval shape from the previous model, but it makes the buttons feel strange. br>br>The oval shape gives the impression that there is too much "space" between the buttons; an easy fix would be to raise the handles higher to eliminate the extra "space. " br>br>Another issue I had was a delay between inputs; at first, I thought it was just my imagination, but it turns out I wasn't the only one; I had the same issues with the non-pro version, so it's a shame to see the lag return. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> 3/23/21br>I forgot to mention this in my previous review: sometimes the screenshot button won't work no matter how many times I press it; at first, I thought it was just me not pressing the button correctly (which makes no sense), but it keeps happening the more I use the controller; in fact, I'm not sure if I got a bad controller shipped to me. br>br>Overall, an interesting alternative, but personally, I would say it is better to use a don.

Great D- Pad, but Switch is inconvenient
4/5

Because the first-party Switch Pro Controller isn't necessarily designed with retro in mind, I purchased this controller to use in 2D games on my Switch. In contrast, the D- The pad is everything I could want, but keep in mind that the ergonomics around the shoulder buttons aren't ideal for the console. The lower triggers are analog, which is a nice feature for PC gaming but has a tactile disadvantage on the Switch due to its different resistance and travel distance on a console built around digital ZL/ZR. The inconvenient access to the upper L/R bumpers, which are accurately designed to match those on the SNES controller but are awkward and unnatural to reach with this controller's ergonomics, is the most disappointing aspect. The SN30 Pro is a frustratingly inconvenient retro solution for the Switch because most retro games on the Switch have made the upper shoulder buttons the default mapping without modification. (Even with custom button mappings, the analog nature of ZL/ZR makes them unsuitable for retro gaming. ) )br>br>Also, because the screenshot button is also the turbo toggle, holding any other button while trying to take a screenshot toggles that button for turbo, which can throw off gameplay if it isn't done deliberately. br>br>The SN30 Pro has good build quality, good buttons, and is a fantastic example of a satisfactory third-party controller in general, but it falls short of its primary sales pitch/appeal.

Glitchy
3/5

This controller was great when I first got it in September, but it has been plagued with issues since then. My husband has spent countless hours tinkering with the firmware, syncing it, remapping keys, and other such tasks in order to resolve a variety of issues, including: Disconnecting, registering as multiple controllers, buttons being mapped backwards, and the software that allows you to remap keys being locked out of doing so. We've tried it as a switch controller, an Xbox 360 controller, and an Xbox One controller, but none of them have lasted more than a week. Every time I stop playing for a while, it takes at least an hour to get it back up and running, and that's without considering the input delay. When this stupid thing works, it's a very comfortable and nice controller for a casual gamer who doesn't mind input lag, but the constant struggle to get it to work isn't worth it. I'll simply make use of my switch pro:.

The controller is excellent, but it suffers from two major flaws
4/5

The d pad's diagonals aren't compatible with the PlayStation 3. On the PS3, games like Street Fighter or Marvel vs Capcom require the use of joysticks, which I despise, or the purchase of an adapter USB stick. Second, the dpad on a PS3 does not work with PS1 games downloaded from the PlayStation Network. Even with the adapter, it's not a good idea. The charging lights aren't working properly, giving the impression that the device has stopped charging when it hasn't. Aside from that, it's a well-made controller that performs admirably.

Unholy union of the highest order
5/5

It's as if a Super Nintendo and a PlayStation 3 controller had a forbidden love child, and the result is incredible. I use it to play video games on my Sony Android TV on a regular basis. It works perfectly with the app I use to stream my PS4 to the TV in the other room. Build quality is excellent. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts, but I've played for over 2 hours four times and it hasn't died or shown any signs of low battery issues. br>br>Well worth the price; feels good and is properly weighted, unlike some other controllers I've had. br>br>Strongly suggested. br>br>.
