Yes, it looks ridiculous, and working without it is unquestionably more inconvenient, but it only takes one discharge to make you wish you'd been wearing it all along. br>br>Unfortunately, it's impossible to say whether or how many times it's saved you because, if it's working, none of your belongings are ruined. Since it arrived, I've been wearing it while working on static-sensitive components – much to my wife and children's delight – but, as I mentioned, it does make things slightly less convenient. However, I wasn't wearing it tonight while helping my brother work on a PC at our office, and I had the most massive static discharge I've ever seen (yes, seen). Fortunately, the discharge happened while I was touching the case frame; however, things could have gone very differently. My mind was naturally drawn to the grounding bracelet, which reminded me that I needed to finish this review. The cord that connects the gator clip to the wearer's wrist is a combination of straight and bungy. br>br>This being what it is, I believe it is the best version of it that I could currently imagine. The bungy obviously gives you more room to work without having to work around as much cord, but I've seen others that aren't bungy style, and I think that's a little unreasonable. For the same amount of cord getting in the way, the bungy style gives you a lot more room to work with. Of course, the bungy's loops introduce areas where things can get snagged, but on this one, I'm going with the bungy's comparative advantages. br>br>The bracelet is adjustable, and it's not difficult to do so. It isn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but that doesn't bother me. I only want to wear it when it's appropriate, and I don't want to lose track of it on my wrist and try to walk away with it clamped to a frame. The fact that it makes me feel uneasy serves as a reminder that it exists. br>br>It's not something I enjoy wearing, but for what it is, it's a good product in terms of design, construction, and materials.

super- durable. The examination - I put it on my left wrist and measured the resistance from my right hand to the alligator clip on the strap. Reading: 15 - 20 mega ohms is a resistance of 20 million ohms. To me, it appears to be functional. br>br>I've had other wrist straps that have lasted a long time and appear to be of higher quality. I'm not sure about this one (yet), but I don't think it'd last more than a year on the bench. It's ideal for tinkering with electronics around the house on the odd occasion. I intend to use it in this manner.

This static strap does exactly what it says on the tin. My husband uses it to work on computers and replace electronic parts, and he's never had any issues with it.
