Nikon DX shooter with a lot of experience! This is the one that I use. for use as an eyepiece in low-light situations. I used it on my old Nikon D3200 as well as my new Nikon D3500 (I'm a semi-pro photographer). I'm a pro on a budget, so Nikon's D3k line has everything I need and nothing I don't). Because I have a big head and a prominent brow ridge, my eyes are set further back in my face than most people's, and this eyepiece allows me to compose shots without slamming my camera against my cheek. This is helpful in everyday photography, but it's critical when working with a tripod (long exposures). It's nice not to have to clean my camera screen every five minutes or return from a regular shoot with cheek marks on my face.
I read some negative reviews that said it was "stiff," "uncomfortable," "didn't fit," and other things. , but the manufacturer/seller said otherwise, so I took a chance, and I'm happy to report that the gamble paid off. The rubber material is firm but pliable, which makes it ideal for my needs. It fits perfectly on my Nikon D90, and it arrived just in time, because I had been using the OEM eyecup for over a decade. It vanished without a trace from my camera/bag. So far, I'm happy with my purchase and can recommend it (at least to those of you who, like me, have an older but still functional Nikon DSLR).
I simply installed it on my Nikon D5200 and took a few test shots in my home to see how it worked. The eye cup is extremely comfortable to wear and fits snugly, just like the OEM version. The screen on the back of the camera has some minor interference, as stated in the seller's product description. I had to squish the eye cup a little to get it back in, but the screen came out perfectly. Certainly not enough to derail a star's career. I'm excited to put it to the test in the real world.
Surprisingly hard silicone for a "soft" viewfinder, and when in use, it pressed against my top and bottom eyelids in an uncomfortably uncomfortable way, at least for me. It appeared to be sturdy enough, but it didn't fit properly.
It's critical to pay close attention to the edges of your frame as well as your subject/center of the photograph, and it can be difficult to focus on the entire photograph when light and distractions are present in your peripheral vision. In my opinion, this is a low-cost and excellent little upgrade for your viewfinder. Wearing glasses while taking pictures, in my opinion, will make things worse rather than better.
The only reason this gets a 4 is because of the LCD screen interference. If you try to adjust it, the screen will become stuck on the eye piece, and you'll have to remember to push it back in place or you'll lose it. Aside from that, it's exactly what I needed.
I've tried a lot of different eye cups, and this one is particularly good for people who wear glasses. Even with my glasses on, I can use it. It takes a few moments to get used to, but you will. It's fantastic that there's no sidelight now, and I'm able to take photos that are in focus.
There hasn't been much of a change. The positive aspects include: It does what it says. It's a perfect fit for the camera. br>Contrary to popular belief, You're not nearly as adaptable as you believe. It pulls the eye away from the viewfinder, narrowing the field of vision.
