I can't tell you how many times during a shoot I've come close to losing these or have actually lost them. It's great to have backups. br>This is one of those essential pieces of equipment that you don't realize you need until you do. br>Buy a pack and keep them in your bag; trust me, one of these days you'll be glad you did.
I took a chance by purchasing this because my Sony model wasn't listed among the compatible models, but it worked perfectly! The regular eyepiece is one of my favorites because it locks in place while still being removable. When you're trying to focus more and switching to portrait mode, the eye cup's 360-degree swivel comes in handy. The eyecup's only drawbacks are that it blocks the flash, prevents you from pulling out the screen, and doesn't lock in place, but it still fits snugly. Overall, it was an excellent investment.
They appear to be a little sloppy and poorly constructed, but we'll see if they stay on and I don't lose them. I'm not sure, but some of my peers simply remove their eyecup piece and never use it because the sensor for auto EVF/LCD can be slid down and hidden (even with the original Sony eyecup piece).
It's the perfect fit for my glasses. This purchase has made me very happy.
It was the perfect fit. The rubber lining on the piece that came with the camera had come off, so I ordered these to replace it. br>br>The price is unbeatable, and they easily fit. It's very simple to change them out, just slide them off and on again. They appear to be solidly constructed. If your eye piece is broken, these are a simple and inexpensive repair.
Because these are inexpensive, I'm not too bothered that one has already broken; however, be aware that the moving plastic tabs that secure the eye piece to the camera body have weak spots. The eyepiece slid off after one of the tabs snapped.
Sony has irritated me by refusing to sell replacement eye cup rubber. The eyecup, on the other hand, can be glued to the body if desired. This isn't the prettiest, but if you use your camera as much as I do, you'll have it permanently attached to your body. works.
The extended version appeals to me the most. The two-pack comes at a good price. I wasn't sure I'd like the extended eyecup, but I ended up using it more than the standard one. It has a pleasant feel to it and appears to be of OEM quality.
