It has a lot of versatility. The rubber sheathing is extremely "supple," for lack of a better word. It's a lot more flexible than regular speaker wire, in my opinion.
If you buy it from a DIY store, it's made of pure copper and has 65 strands per conductor.
The two internal leads (red/black) are jacketed separately and are white. That is exactly what the image depicts.
It has two conductors and is about 3/32" thick by 1/8" wide because the wires are laid side by side.

Monoprice has obviously prioritized cost-cutting over quality. The outer white sheathing as well as the insulation on the individual wires are now significantly thinner. It has a flimsy, low-quality feel to it. To be fair, I was using it in a public-facing application, so the new paper-based technology was a good fit. It's not acceptable to use thin sheathing. It makes the individual conductors inside the cable visible, and the cable appears ropy rather than the nice round cable it once was. I'm surprised they'll be able to maintain their CL2 status. I'll have to look for my 4-pack of cigarettes elsewhere. conductor cable is required.
The spool is terrible, as you can see in the photos. The end disks are made of low-cost cardboard that breaks easily, and the central round core is made of low-cost plastic that breaks even during shipping. br>br>All four 250' boxes arrived with broken plastic center cores and one cardboard side that had been broken off. When you pull on the wire, it unravels and scatters across the floor. (As seen in the second photo. ) )br>br>I've had the same issue with their 1,000-foot Cat6 network wires due to poor packaging. The cardboard tears and installation is a pain if you carry them by proper grip holes. If you only intend to use them at home for a single installation, go ahead. If you do this for a living, however, you should avoid using these products and instead invest in a higher-quality product; you should not run your business with them. br>br>I've been buying Monoprice for a long time, and in the last 24 months, they appear to have cut a lot of corners and cheapened things. Although there is some value for money, the frustration and problems are beginning to erode any competitive advantage they may have.
A 11 was installed. This cable was used by two audio systems, which I now regret. I ended up requesting a refund for the additional 100ft spool I ordered after several failed attempts to get good sound quality from the cable. I wish I could get a refund for the previous two purchases, but I don't believe they will accept cut cable as a return. The cable I replaced this with works fantastically well, and the audio is as clear as bells, with the bass hitting hard once more.

There are 82 reviews at the time of this writing, and while I won't go over them all again, I did read a lot of them before buying. br>br>One thing I noticed, and I'm not sure if anyone else did, is that every foot of the wire is clearly marked. br>When you unravel it, you'll see that it says 100 feet. br>And down the line, 99 feet, 98 feet, 97 feet, etc. , etc. br>br>This can be useful in some scenarios, and I thought it was useful. br>br>The roll, purchased at a discount because it was an open box, came clearly marked at the 100 foot level, so I didn't see the need to unravel it all to see if 100 feet were there. br>br>This is a nice touch that you don't see on most wire.
This cable was purchased because the online store where I purchased my PA Powered Subwoofers stated that 18 AWG 4 conductor cables were required. These are the most shoddy cables I've ever seen. I have older 4-conductor cables ranging in age from 5-years-old to 10-years-old. I bought some great things from Monoprice ten years ago that I still have. It's easy to distinguish the two. They were incredibly sturdy and well-made. These cables, which I recently ordered and received, are extremely thin. They're a complete disaster. Do not make a purchase. If you have to install a wall, this is the worst mistake you can make. This morning, I hung the cables in the wall. I had to return here to see what other customers had to say about the cables because they were so poorly made. Thank goodness someone showed up to read the reviews. Now I must snake some better cables for my Subwoofers before my contractor closes the walls. It's likely that another company is selling Monoprice cables under a different brand name on Amazon. This is the first time in 20 years of ordering from Monoprice that I have encountered such a poor product, and I have always ordered directly from Monoprice. Due to a time constraint, I had to order them on Amazon to receive them in two days. I'm not sure if these are genuine Monoprice cables or Amazon knockoffs.
With the following speakers and receiver, I'm using this speaker wire in my walls and ceiling:
