In short, yes. You should be able to run the tape fine. The difficulty will be obtaining an appropriate signal level from your record player into the Akai via the amplifier. Your music will be played after the transfer, so finding a convenient method of doing so will be a challenge. What if you could just play them straight from your computer instead of having to listen to an LP? In other words It isn't any more convenient to use reel to reel tape. I think it's cool and fun, but it doesn't work well for me.
There is a bit of a misperception in the picture This diagram shows the various widths of tape that are available You should be able to use this to suit your machine if you require 1/4 inch tape on a 7 inch reel.
"Sure, I'm talking about 7" reels.
I believe that the 7 inch reels will be a good fit, but not the 10 1/2 inch reels.

Despite not noticing any audible dropouts in the audio, there are inconsistencies in the polish of the oxide surface-- One notable feature is a glossy strip of oxide that runs through the center How healthy and flexible the oxide remains will depend on how long it remains in place.
There was no tape hiss recorded and played as a result of my Pioneer RT-70 The sound dynamics are excellent from low to high. I like the 'analog' sound of the music.
This tape is really nice. You've got a great idea!.
The perfect translation.
An accurate and clear recording of the recording has been made. This allows for better recording because it is clamped down tight. I love the recording because it is clear and accurate, and it sounds just like a record, so I can store it for later use.
My 7" 911 series is my first recording apparatus. I bought it last year and am finally making use of My Teac A-200 started squealing after going through the recording guides, and although the copy was good, it sounded like a 40 year old tape while recording. This is 3340s. I am surprised at how sticky the tape feels for a new.
The tape does its job, although it isn't as good as TDK Super Avelyn, or any of the other tapes I've used, but it does its job! My machine does not support the TDK, so I could not find it.
