2021 should be a good year for tapes
5/5

My stock of high quality, high bias NOS tapes is solid, but I'm always looking for new tapes to use in my portable equipment, especially as 'take outs'. As soon as I saw these, I decided to take them for a spin and hear what they were like. I am generally pleased with what I have seen. I found them to have a decent build quality and an adequate signal for relatively low noise (without Dolby). Connor and Sara have no dropouts or mischief, and they are really good at biasing out. The highest possible This sensor responds to frequency changes in a steady and adequate manner (especially for normal bias). The Maxell UR performs better in my opinion, while these are better performers I suspect the tape is made from a different formulation as the tape is slightly darker in color. The technical details are as follows The AKAI GX-100 has been the sole test device (so far) I have twin heads It is a 15 hz * 19 kHz (Normal) capstan, precisely overhauled and in perfect condition. I'm ordering more of these. I think it's a very fair deal.

As long as you are recording what you want, they are okay
3/5

My interest in cassettes as a niche hobby recently resurfaced, and I thought it would be fun to make some mix tapes like I did years ago because, as I remembered, it was fun. It depends on what you are recording whether they are okay or not. It seems that I have tried recording several genres of music but, whether I use noise reduction or Dolby B or C (Dolby C usually helps the worst tapes, but not with these), the highs just aren't there, and the deck is pretty good quality. In addition, it appears that these cannot be pushed at the same volume as a similarly priced TDK D-type It is a Type I series. On some types of music, you can easily push the D Series TDKs well up to + 2 and even + 4. Maxell Communicators have a tendency to distort at that level which is interesting considering they are labeled as "professional/industrial". This tape is a 'chocolate brown,' as opposed to the darker TDK tape noted above, and this is basically one way one can judge the quality of a Type I tape. In defense of Maxell fairly, based upon my experience using many types of tapes throughout the 90's, the UR series were just as good as the D series, especially for type I tapes. Even though I still have old recordings I recorded in 1994 on many of these tapes, they sound just as good as the day I recorded them, but I still think the XL-600 was Maxell's best tape. The II and XL models to be released in 2017 It is an Internet Information System. Their forte was in that area, however they no longer make them, so all you can find is new old stock that costs a pretty penny. Unfortunately, the Communicator Series isn't up to the task when it comes to that I'm not happy with is that it appears the tape inside the shell unspools when I move it from one place to another. In most cases, a tape that is well made will not have this issue. The factors above are merely my perception based upon my While they are significantly better than the cheap ONN brand and may suffice for talk radio or typing dictations or to use in an inexpensive recorder, I cannot recommend them for someone who desires good quality recordings. There is just a problem with how they handle frequencies, and you may be disappointed with the results. You will see what I mean if you buy a two-pack and try them. My honest opinion is that even the Sony HF Type I is better than these.

Customer service from the Petech company is the best I've experienced
5/5

They added these additional items to my second order of blank cassette tapes My experience with Petech has been excellent. I am confident that the company began fixing my issue immediately after becoming involved. While I was still contemplating my options, the mail carrier began putting complimentary cassettes of 90 minutes of high output in the mail within 48 to 72 hours of my request. The feeling of stun is still with me. Many thanks to Petech, many thanks to I am a lifelong fan!.

A cassette with solid performance
5/5

As usual, these cassettes are the regular bias cassettes like old TDK Ds or old Maxell URs. The Nakamichi CR7A deck I'm using has recently filled a couple of pairs with music and has had good results so far. Exactly like with the old Maxell, the slip sheets and cassette shell are of excellent quality. As well as being a good option for both music and voice recordings, because cassettes aren't used everywhere in 2021.

Audio cassette tapes for the Cassette Communicator Series C90 by Maxell Professional
5/5

Having recoded with this tape I failed to hear any differance between it and either tDK Sa or Maxell XLs. I think it is the cheapest tape.

This cassette has a normal bias and is of great quality
5/5

Compared to previous cassettes, this one is of excellent quality. This tape is low in "hiss" noise, has good dynamic range, and isn't as expensive as Chrome It is recommended.
