Questions & Answers

In terms of hours, how long does the stylus last?

My guitar has about forty hours on it so it is hard to say how it will sound in the next few months.

Do you think it is easy to align and install this cartridge?

There have been improvements on this cartridge in the sense that the fasteners for the bolts are tightly attached to the cartridge body rather than being 'loose' as in previous models. The simplest thing you need to do is connect the wires and mount the bolts with the plastic washers until they just barely touch, align using an alignment protractor and tighten the bolts once more. You shouldn't have any problems in the process if you're buying a new headshell with it. If you are trying to make jewelry, then I recommend you get an inexpensive set of these jewelry making pliers or at least a miniature needle-nose pliers The pliers should have smooth surfaces / no teeth. Using these makes taking off and reattaching the tiny wires much easier and they make it less likely that you will break a wire or scratch something up like with normal

This will be able to fit inside the AR XA ?

Though I have never used an AR XA, the headshell appears to be on par with standard(ish) models. You can find Vinyl Engine at the web site www.vinylengine.com In addition to the user manual, you will also find other documents for that turntable if you register

The sound and tracking are excellent
5/5

The design is low profile and I like it. Its cartridge and stylus stand out as the best of their kind. The Ortofon Blue was the one I hesitated to purchase over this due to its overpriced cost despite its immense The Ortofon Blue (nude elliptical moving magnet) is comparable to this item, spec for spec. Besides the DUAL moving magnet, this features a LED light! A smaller, more compact size was also an important factor for me when deciding between the two units. The volume output of these cartridges is better than those of the earlier Audio Technica series. I tested this item using the Shure audio obstacle course era III test record, and I would say that it very easily passed the test. As a matter of fact, this was the first stylus and cartridge to pass the "sibilance" test at level 5 without being distorted. Consequently, there was a tracking error of 0. My jaw dropped when I heard this!
There are no doubts that this is a beautiful cartridge and stylus system that will complement To get a perfect sound and appearance, there is no need for an oversized and overpriced clear blue, red or bronze plastic. As well as the lows, the mids are wonderfully pronounced. Its high end is spectacular, and it's ability to play the subtle resonances of stringed instruments makes you feel like you're right in the room with the musician. A small or no background noise, crisp instrumental reproductions and accurate vocal reproduction. This is particularly important in regards to vocal sibilance which is one of the most challenging areas of It is also the only cartridge system that you can easily upgrade to any of the 5 other stylus styles, including a shabita stylus, once it is installed. The vertical tracking force for the cartridge should be set to 2 after calibration, using a protractor to align the cartridge.

It is very impressive that this stylus/cartridge combination works so well! As a musician, I've been using a variety of styluses over the years, including Shure, Audio Technica (we go way back), Ortofon, etc
5/5

The old-style stylus will not work with the new models. Shure M44 for school use The tone, clarity, and intensity of the seventh has made it a favorite. The other option is out of the question, as you probably know. My choice for a solution eventually led me to the Ortofon Red keyboard. This stylus is fantastic. I found this to be extremely accurate with great tracking. It looks amazing, but it almost seems It boasts a sound almost similar to a CD and rivals that of a CD. This is at least the case You have nothing to worry about there. It is quite an accomplishment on the technical front! I decided to dig a little deeper into my pocket and bought the Ortofon Blue and I'm happy with what I bought. The solution checks all my boxes and it's a great product. The sound quality of the Ortofon 2M Blue compared to this is how does this stack up? It is very comparable to the 2M Blue, but a bit more open and full in However, that might be the case if you listen through headphones and are very There is no discernible difference when you sit in a chair and listen through speakers (I use Klipsch speakers and a Marantz PM6006 amplifier). I bought the AT- because I like it Would VM95EN work? In my opinion, I like the idea of an inexpensive system that includes options such as spherical to shiabata. This line is so perfect in every way. There is nothing pretentious about it. I love how it turned out. It is inexpensive and competitive with other options with much higher prices. It is also my second turntable, so I wish to buy it ahead of time. I use the same table on which I digitize my vinyl that I use to use the 2M Blue. My goal was to have something I could use that would not break the bank, but that was also great It consists of The VM95EN software does everything it is supposed to do. What's more, you get to choose from a variety of options! I can easily switch between the AT-88 and my older vinyl if I am playing older used records The tracking force is equal to the initial tracking force of the VM95C cartridge (the blue one). There is no doubt about it it works. As an expression of my appreciation to the company, I wrote them a letter expressing how pleased I was with Now I'm more likely to upgrade one day to the microline (red) or to the This afternoon, however, I have a special affinity for It's kind of curious to me how the non-profit works An AT-style stylus with a nude tip The VM95e (green) could be similar to the AT- however, it may not be equal to it It is interesting that the AT-can be purchased at such an affordable price It's also worth checking out the VM95C, if for no other reason than to play those older records without messing up your AT.

It is not great, but it is not bad either
3/5

At its best, the AT cartridge is not bad, but its performance pales in comparison with the Nagaoka MP-S, which has a good reputation I also bought a 110, and I compared it to one I had a few months ago Side by side comparison of identical headshells, the MP compared to the VTF In 110 at 1, it states The 8g is at 2, then the 2 is at 8. As for the Audio Technica, it also falls within the recommended range in both instances. By the way, the tracking force range for the AT is one of the narrowest that I have ever seen. Two grams. Additionally, in similar fashion to the Nagaoka cartridge, this AT cartridge is aimed at tonearms with greater mass. If you have a low mass tonearm and a low mass headshell, don't use this cartridge. I promise you that you will not I would like to add Having a stylus guard that is poorly designed, is too loose, and slips off at a slight provocation is very annoying I am not sure how this will work The AT went back to work What's the reason? In my setup, Nagaoka is quite a bit brighter, but The MP-50 seems to have more surface noise than the Nagaoka Was the situation further complicated by the alleged break-in I have in my field Has this been a concept that has arched my eyebrows I don't know. will not get the chance to do so.

I loved the sound, but there were a few problems
5/5

To replace my Ortofon 2M Red cartridge that came with my Project Debut turntable, I was in the market for a new cartridge. While the Ortofon was decent sounding, something richer and in the same price range would have been more satisfying. Having read the reviews on Audio-Test I decided to take a closer look It is a Techno- So I went for it since it sounded interesting. cartridge has a very light weight, which is one of the problems I ran into. A factory representative suggested I add some kind of weight to the tone arm to resolve the issue. There was only one small washer & dryer in there I weighed it on my scale, and it added just enough to bring the total weight to the desired level. As soon as the cartridge is set up, it sounds wonderful, and I am very pleased Besides being able to play audio files, these audio players have another awesome feature A technical cartridge is a Styrus that you can exchange. My mono records require a conical stylus so I purchase it to listen to them.
