Questions & Answers

The tube cap is glued on, so the best way to get it off is to cut it off What does it look like when the cap is ?

To remove the cap, use a pair of pliers or a pair of channel locks to twist it off. After you've tried that and it's not working, you'll have to put some Acetone behind the cap and let it soak for a couple of minutes before trying Make sure the tip of the cap is completely clean and that all air has been forced out of the tube before resealing it.

How will this glue work on an Alpine type R? Will it glue pulp kevlar to rubber?

The tear was on the edge of the speaker material and the rubber edge, and it worked perfectly! Hope this helps!

Is it necessary to cure it for a long period of time?

Removing the old foam from the speaker and the spider is the next step if everything is clean. It takes about two hours to install the new foam. Most of the time is spent drying it out. After the foam has dried, your speakers should be set up overnight.

What type of glue is this? Is it Nitrile-based?

As far as I can tell in the content printed on the tube (Toluene, Hexane, and rubber solvent), "nitrile" A warning label states "Flammable" and to avoid breathing in the vapors for a prolonged period. I have found it to be an excellent tool for repairing damaged speakers after using it.

product! Unfortunately, when I was listening to music with heavy bass, the driver in my driver's side woofer began to vibrate
5/5

The Bose system in Mazdas has this issue. I googled it, and apparently it's a well-known problem. I was fortunate that someone suggested that speaker glue could be used The speaker was misbehaving, so I took the door apart and worked on it. The amount of glue I used was many times more than I probably should have used, and it was applied all over the place, not just where it was It can take forever for the stuff to dry, and once it does, it is not solid but instead is rigid There seems to be a design purpose for this. With the speaker now working without flapping, the sound is fantastic. The flapping could come back in the next year, so expect me to come back and make this into a one-page document 5. 0 out of 5 stars. Right now, however, I'm happy to have spent eight dollars rather than a hundred The price of a new speaker is fifty dollars. Only odd thing I will mention is that when I got the stuff, I tried it out inside to see the consistency and what I would be dealing with, and it was really In the intense heat of Georgia, it became as wet as water once I had it outside. There have never been any attempts to return to a thicker consistency. The app still works, so I am not going to take away a star Even so, it's quite odd and perhaps worth noting.

A driver made by Hartke out of aluminum
5/5

The stuff worked great on two original aluminum drivers out of Hartke Transient Attack bass cabs from 1991, which included a working 1991 G-Drive power supply That was funny). An aluminum cone on one of the 10" speakers on the 410 cab was connected to a dust cover that was coming off. In the past, the dust cover on the 115 had been repaired with brittle super glue, so it was also coming apart Due to the design, I had to buy a new dust cover, but I made sure it had a slightly smaller diameter (135mm since the 5" I tried was a little too small and made contact with the voice coil wires) so it had a smooth surface to contact. By first carefully removing what I could from the cone and then cleaning the area to be glued with the acetone on a q-tip, I prepared the cone for glue application You need to clean off the voice coil by using your finger and vacuuming any dust/debris that may have fallen on it. The glue application for both speakers was different, but using a Lazy Susan allowed me to hold the glue steady while rotating the speaker and accurately apply the glue with the other hand. I allowed them to sit with a large wrench socket being used as a weight for at least 24hours. The older speakers (27 years) sound great after all these years, and this vintage system has been annoying the neighbors for over Here are a few pics to keep the old USA gear alive

PICS Getting too close to the subject Get up to date with the latest technology While the grey cone is a 10", the other two are 15" (note You can share this with Superglue should not be used).

This is a waste of both The product works well for attaching speaker grill cloth to masonite frames, but I'm not thrilled with the quality
3/5

According to the video found at Simply Speakers, once you attach the speaker cloth to the masonite grill frame, the glue sets immediately. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Masonite absorbs much of the glue, so the cloth doesn't stick to it unless you use a lot, and even then you need to hold the cloth in contact with the frame, which is messy because glue seeps through the cloth to the opposite side of your hand. As a result, I did not use glue but instead stapled the grill cloth on.

I would advise you to not waste your time or money on.

These are all the instructions you need, but you should receive them along with the item
5/5

Unfortunately, it does not come with instructions, which is extremely disappointing because if you try to use this like a traditional glue or paste, you will become My first attempt at gluing failed, and I used too much glue to discover that it is making After putting a thin layer of adhesive on the two items and letting it air dry for ten minutes, it can be attached The time is 15 minutes long. As soon as you press them together, they become Having hardened within less than 12 hours, it's ready for use. Once you understand this, then the rest is easy, and you'll also understand why this works so In terms of volume, you'll have quite a bit of it, which means that if used as intended it will last quite a while (although I suspect it will dry out before you're finished with it). It's a lot easier to use than white glue, which is recommended for speaker assembly.

It is great to repair speakers with clear glue
5/5

I was not sure what was wrong with one of my 12" car subs, which made a horrible rattling sound. A few weeks later, I decided to look at it, and I discovered that the dust cap had dislodged from the device. I discovered I could reglue it myself, so I ordered this glue because everyone seemed to like it. With a pan on top, I let it sit for over a day before gluing the dusk cap in place. The 12's are now again bumping after I hooked it up It's great that the glue is clear and it's easy to place it before it hardens so that you can get the correct fit every time. Sound quality has returned to the way it was, and I was very happy not to have to purchase a new subwoofer.

Please be aware that it cannot If you do not like it, you cannot return it, so if it does not work for your application, you will lose The weight of 5 ounces
3/5

The Amazon page for this product says it is flammable! It isn't a surprise there, but it is puzzling to me because you can purchase it through Amazon and have it shipped to you, but cannot have it I was not able to get the glue to work. I tried to repair a 2 inch tear in the foam around the television. I could not find any instructions on the package explaining how to use or apply the product. It would be helpful to know the set time. There is a Web site and an 800 number for this company. A web page was visited, which is where they sell speaker kits and replacements. The glue failed after 4 hours of letting it set. After 48 hours, I let it set for 48 hours. As a result of my results, I have no confidence that the kit will work.

I have found this to be very effective
5/5

In order to install a new foam surround on a subwoofer, I used this. I wiped alcohol over everything to remove the old glue and dried it. A new surround was installed on the speaker and the image was put on it. After I pressed all the way around with my fingers, I used a plastic spoon to smooth it out. It looks as new as when it left the factory. The remainder of it is left over in 99% of cases. If I had used a tube half as big, I would have saved money.
