Is there more than one foam piece included in the kit?

One foam piece and a glue kit are included. As if it were new, it has worked well for any 12W7 pounds I put on it. Hope you have a good day.

How does this kit feel? Does it feel like ?

The foam kit in this kit has a number of colors. As in the OEM case of the JL Audio 12W7 woofer, the suspension is made from foam just like the OEM foam ring.

When putting the cone on the magnet, how do you center it so the coil does not scratch it? The coil is connected to the magnet using paper strips in the factory. Are there any tips you'd like to share?

In order to let the speaker cone dry for an hour, what do you use to hold it up to the foam ring?

The cone was held up by pillows and blankets strewn around the house to put enough upward pressure on it. To keep it from falling, bear in mind that it must be perfectly centered. Since the replacement foam has been installed, it has worked just fine. I have been using it for about six months currently.

It takes a lot of effort to do it This is the worst nightmare of my life

I watched videos several times, but it is hard to do. As a result of ruining the first dustcap on my first glue attempt, I had to buy a second one. In the second picture, you can see that the foam is not as thick and does not have a good lip on which to sit the ring. I think it turned out just fine, but it's darker than I expected. It was necessary to order more glue as well. The learning curve and time constraint involved in doing this isn't worth it if you're a perfectionist. This was my first time doing this and now I think I will be able to do it again, but yeah, it wasn't worth the learning curve and time.

I feel like I just ripped a piece of my JL Audio 12w7 apart after 8 years. My original intention was to start over with a new installation, but this product brought this old subwoofer and many of the bass features back to life Often we remember things in our heads. Following their helpful YouTube tutorial will get you up and running in no time. You know what's even better? It's okay if you misaligned it by forgetting to check the clearances for suspension before you (I) glue it. There is just enough glue to do it a second time. (Note The glue should dry under two hours after initial application).

The performance of this 12W7 is exactly what it was during its original condition, and I realized that perhaps my 12W7 was slowly weakening inside of its foam surround over the last four years. You can use this cheap and easy method to fix what mother nature has done to your equipment if you have experience building speaker enclosures. I'm sorry for those of you who have not already subscribed. The kit mentioned here is one you might want to try, or you could send your sub woofer and money to Simply Speakers and they will take care of it. As far as Simply Speakers, they responded promptly and professionally to my question regarding the seller.

When I used it on my speaker, the foam stuck well to the cone, but the dust cover fell off after several It's time to glue it back in, but I haven't had the time. I hope it holds up.

This product fully corresponds to what is We didn't need to send the sub to JL audio and have them repair it for some ridiculous price. Just follow the video instructions online and it was quite easy to do. The longest part of this project was removing the box and trunk from the subwoofer. After removing all the old s***ty foam from the subwoofer, the next most difficult step was pealing and scraping it off. It's just a matter of applying glue and waiting for it to dry.

It's inevitable that you will eventually need to replace the surround on a W7 from jl audio, and this is a quick and easy repair

I have to admit I was struggling with performing this repair myself at first. The YouTube video convinced me to try it after watching it a few times. You can find detailed instructions for how to do this on YouTube. That's not how I expected it to I have now been able to use my JL audio speakers successfully! There is even more durability in the surround compared to the factory surround that came on the speakers.

It was only folded that I found a problem. It took me quite some time to align them on the cones and keep their shape until the glue dried. Just a bad delivery service. Nice product, just a bad delivery service.
