The 10W7 series is the only one
Yeah, mine are old as well. Since the outside is larger than most speakers, they're not right for home theater. The throw of 7 is impressively long.
Is there any reason not to do it? What was the result of the installation?
I'd suggest tapping very slowly with a wooden kitchen tool handle and following that through several times, until you start to see it sit. As it starts to tighten, keep tapping until it has all molded together. When you first drop the ring, using someone to hold it down can help you avoid striking the foam and damaging it.

It took hours to force the old foam to fit in the ring of my JL Audio ProWedge enclosure. I even tried to force the ring into the enclosure but it wouldn't fit. A simple twist is all that's needed to apply the original foam and ring. My only regret is that I didn't know this before that I could have returned and didn't spend an entire night fighting the replacement foam that wasn't the same size as the original.
After I bought, I had to put the ring around the speaker. It was smooth sailing until I had to do that. As a result, it took a lot of time to work it on since it was a bit too thick, then I had to cut off some extra that were forced out while working ring onto outer clamp. Worked well, however it is not a simple size that is easy to fit, therefore it required a little bit of troubleshooting.
I highly recommend it. I had to replace the foam cone on one of them about a year ago because it had degraded badly. One sub is in my car now (new car, so only one sub set up instead of two), but I plan on updating the foam on that one very soon. I was able to repair the piece quickly, everything fits (the rings and everything else). I recommend watching the YouTube tutorial video as well, it is a great This is a 5* rating!.
As a last resort, I took it to an audio store to make sure it wasn't The size is the wrong one, they both agreed.
I think this is a junk product. In the end, it doesn't fit the cone perfectly, and that's really the most important thing. As the glue takes around 10 minutes to cure, you need about 50 people to hold the new cone to the surround until the glue has dried. The truth is, you'll have to prove it to yourself.
could not find anything negative to say about this product, it is amazing and I would highly recommend it.
It has been 3 months since I installed it and I still play it constantly.
It made my heart sink to see the foam on my speaker crumbling, but luckily there is a solution. It sounded like it would be easy to replace from the online videos they have. Having done so made me very happy. Using this was easy since it came with all the materials to foam my speaker again. This is a high-quality product that anyone in need should consider!.
