The bottom line is that the quality is good. This is an easy product to install and is definitely cheaper than replacing a stock sub for $500+. The sub in my Lexus SC430 has just been repaired after a blown stock sub had been blown. So far it's working quite well for me. I had a little concern over using the kit and how effective it would be. The instructions in this kit are so easy to follow that anyone can use it. In my experience, removing the speaker from my car proved to be the most difficult part. It sounds much better than before, and the speaker performs just as well. subs tend to be the best bet, since they push more watts and move more, but aftermarket subs would probably be better if you just bought a new one in the first place. I think this kit is good quality, but I was afraid it might not hold up well in say a 1000 watt sub or something.
Once I watched a few videos explaining the prep, I think you should do that first. Once the repair kit arrived, the installation was quick and simple. I would definitely buy this again if I needed a repair in the future.
In a nutshell, Observed the video and followed the directions, then it was very easy to do. I still have my old JL's that look and sound great.
It was great to have foam edges. My JL Audio 10W3's DVC perfectly fits these speakers. They work very well, and the glue gives you time to make minor adjustments to make sure they are perfectly aligned. Those who have worn out the foam on their speakers should consider repairing them with this product. One thing I wish was that they had rubber ones as there is less chance of them getting ripped. had Orion XTR3's for a while and they came with rubber edges and are pretty great. It appears I am still more into JL's since all my 10W3 DVCs hit WAY harder than As for this product, it is great and easy to install even for beginners in the field of.
Excellent This is a simple to use program. In fact, I prefer this brand of surround adhesive over It is a hassle to keep the other guys from mashing up the adhesive that is very fluid.
They were just what the doctor ordered, replaced the foam edges on a pair of old school 10w8 USA made JL Audio speakers, and they still sounded great. Furthermore, I agree with the other commenters, let the glue set up overnight before you put them back in service. That glue is pretty amazing stuff, super pliable and easy to work with, but sets up tough enough to withstand.
In case anyone is searching for something. As well as the old 10W5, the foam for the 10W6v1 fits the old 10W5. This was an extremely easy process, both speakers were done in 45 minutes. This is much better looking and sounding.
Not at all. There was not a subwoofer for the JL Audio 10 W6. The generic 10 in sub was for this.
