Even though I'm good with my hands, I almost gave up. What I learned is as follows It helps to watch YouTube videos, but JBL does not intend to make the battery removal process straightforward. By the end, I had to cut the Flip 4 in half. The battery could not be removed from the access end of the unit due to lack of purchase. It appears that the YouTube video shows someone pushing from the other end with a dowel, maybe, but my unit doesn't have the necessary access. My final solution was to use a scrap piece of stainless steel wire, which I found a small opening at the end of which I could push the old battery through. When I came up with this solution, I had been trying to wiggle out the battery for a long time and was about to throw it all away. You must take your time to find this small opening in order not to damage it. We wish you all the best.

Within two days, I received this battery kit! It came in a box with pretty much everything you need inside. You will also find a metal pry tool (for removing the mesh grille), a phillips screwdriver, and even some spare JBL screws in the small ziplock bag to keep everything together. During disassembling the Flip 4, I avoided screws touching the speakers (magnetic), as the screws will cling to the speaker and you will have to find the screws all over the place. Screws can be easily stored in the box that comes with the kit, which makes it the perfect place for When I took out the old battery, the cables in the old battery came off as I pulled it out. The old battery had swelled (a very common problem apparently). In order to remove the battery, I had to unscrew the other end cap as well as the screws holding the charge port to lift it out and then use a flathead screwdriver to pull it out from the rear of the speaker. The Flip 4 is highly customizable, and there are a couple of videos online covering how to strip the device down and replace the battery as well as As soon as I removed the old battery, I plugged in the new one and turned the unit on to ensure that it was working before putting the whole thing back together. While I was re-evaluating the project on various stages, I did this To ensure that everything was in working order, I conducted a build. The closest it came to being that was when it was about to become kind of repair is one of the most tedious tasks I have ever done (granted, I don't do much repair work). My efforts to remove the original battery took about half an hour because there are a lot of tiny screws on the thing. Then I spent another half hour prying into the thing to remove the As it turned out, it Not an easy task. By wriggling it partly out by the cords until they broke off with pliers, I finally got it out. So I kept wriggling and tugging at it until I finally got it out. My mistake was that I broke the plastic casing, but I don't intend to sell it, so it's okay. I pretty much expected it to be a dud, but it's been fantastic I was also able to solve a problem with the volume buttons which had been unintentionally remapped at some point to other functions. My speaker has now been restored to its former glory. Hopefully, the new battery replacement will provide at least two years of service. I will update if it fails, but so far, I'm satisfied even if it has been a long and complicated.

This was ordered to replace the battery on our original JBL Flip4, which did not hold a charge. We use it every day. Disassembling the old battery and getting it out was a lot of work, but I followed YouTube videos. Repairs of this type require you to have a strong back they are not suitable I had trouble removing the old battery because it was swollen and hard to remove, just as previous Getting it out of that spot was a huge challenge. Please do not pull on the wires attached to the battery to force it out. It's best to push the old battery out through BOTH ends of the battery compartment. The tab was either glued in or had adhesive attached, so I had to tap it out with a small piece of wood (thin paint stirrer stick) and hammer (take your time and be soft). As soon as I had the new battery installed (I did not use adhesive for the née battery) and it had fully charged, I used the JBL app to update the firmware. After a few more tweaks, our Flip4 is back to normal! The cost of a new Flip is WAY cheaper!.

As a first point, the screwdriver included with this kit is totally useless. My first screw was shredded on the screwdriver head when I was trying to remove it. Thanks to some decent tools I've got everything I need to pull this off. I found the pry tool to be pretty effective. This plastic tool is far better than other plastic tools I have owned in the past. The battery charges, but the tool will not The new battery went into the battery holder, but I put the old battery back into it thinking that something was amiss. As long as it's powered by the old (original) battery, it will work. A new battery will not be able to power the device. You could purchase a new Bluetooth speaker, such as a JBL, UE Boom, or a Bose rather than spending $20.

That part of the process did not pose any problems. It was, however, not the right length screws that were sent. The others all had rust on them. I also did not receive my pry tool, and during shipping, the package had burst open. The package arrived very late as well. In the mean time, I have a brand new battery, since my old one In spite of this, I now feel like the mini woofers on the sides no longer deliver most of the bass. There were some seals to break, so I think this might be the reason. I should have just bought a new speaker instead. As far as the battery is concerned, it seems to be fine.
