Questions & Answers

Is it possible to place these on their sides (sideways) and have them perform better?

You asked a very good question! Thank you! As a result of the design of the Uniform If you want to place the Q driver upright or sideways, you can. No matter which audio option you select, you'll still enjoy a wide, clear soundstage. There is a set of rubber feet inside the box that can be placed on both sides of the speaker or on all four sides. The best use for these would be to use them so that the finish on your furniture or speaker doesn't get scratched. Despite the fact that the speaker finish is quite durable, it is still recommended that you use these little rubber feet surrounding the speaker. I wish you a happy listening experience! Wish you all the best for the holiday season.

What is the best configuration for left and right in a 5" The size of my room is 12' x 19'. ?

Objective and subjective are two different things. In a room that large for a 5, it might be difficult to squeeze one in. In number one, it should rock! You can adjust the bass with the port plugs and make sure it is at least a foot or two away from the back wall, and don't squeeze it into a corner. Have fun and it will sound awesome. You'll love it!

A couple of years ago, I bought an Onkyo CR- In this case, it is the 325 which has an output power of 14w+14w at 8 ohm. Would it be crazy for me to even think about using q150 with this device? The volume of my sound system only reaches 50%, by the way. ?

If I were you, I'd look on Ebay for the smaller C Series speakers. You can use them with a low output amplifier and they aren't expensive.

Selected User Reviews For KEF Q150B Q150 Bookshelf Speakers (Pair, Black)

A $300 investment? I urge you to purchase immediately! As soon as I saw the Black Friday prices for the Elac debut b 6, I knew it was a great deal
5/5

In my cart, I put pair 2 into the cart, and then I came across these kef Q150s at a holiday price. I read reviews, speculated, and watched numerous YouTube videos in an attempt to assess whether paying twice as much would result in any benefit, and I spent several days researching. It was highly unlikely that I would spend $300 and be disappointed, as I was quite certain that the b6 would perform as advertised. I realized I had made the right decision when the Q150s arrived and I hooked them up. They were not available at the $150 Black Friday price so I had to get the Q150s. I don't like them at all I can't believe it's only $300! Based on many reviews and experiences with kef, there is a break between kef's texture quality and its smell quality. There is a distortion in period, where different levels of sound are distorting. It took them two to three days to return to each other after playing for several hours a day. As for my equipment, I'm listening to them with a HIBY DAP, a top Dac running Audirvana on a Mac, and a modded PLS120 with an Ortofon Red. It's an integrated marantz model 1150 with Soundcraftsman pro equalization. In addition to flac 16/24/32 and DSD 64/128/256 files, I listen to libav and flac 16/24/32. There is a good deal of user-dependent sound in the base sound. As the speakers are rear-force and the distance to the wall behind is what determines the lowland sound, they are attached to the wall. During the middle of the twentieth century They have a great range and highs. The speaker I purchased is not in the same price range as mine, so I cannot provide a judgement on others. My frugal and discerning nature, however, makes me a difficult buyer. It wasn't my intention to feel underwhelmed, but I was ready to return the items if I was disappointed at any stage. It has been an exciting day for me. It's an outstanding set of speakers, but if you're selling them at 300 USD AND these are on sale - they would be on our list. The time to buy them is now.

Better than Q100 by a long shot
4/5

In the beginning, I was hesitant to open the box because it had parts exposed, but I still decided to give it a shot. A few months ago, I shopped for bookshelves and after trying six, I settled on a In the end, I got the ELAC UB5 after looking at 7 shelves. A KEF Q100 was one of the speakers I tested during my search. My test of the Q100 lasted one week, and I ultimately decided that I wasn't a good fit. Besides being too bright, it was also very tiring. There was just something about the KEF sound signature that didn't appeal to I bought the Q150 on Black Friday this year after seeing it on sale and decided to give KEF another chance. I would have to say that the Q150 are a step above the Q100 out of the box. have only been breaking these speakers in for a few hours, but I can already tell you these are the speakers I hoped for when I tried the old Because the ELAC UB5 is a three way design, it will sound more full, but the top end of the Q150 is better. In terms of the UB5 (a foot from the wall) the low end is comparable. It has the same brightness as the Q100, but it is not as bright. It can play any music genre and audio type and it is an all-rounder in the sense that it can play any kind of music. I know out of the box that the 150's are great for jazz, acoustic, and vocal/synthesizer type music. I hate to say it, but I think it will play those types of music better than your They will be broken in for a few more days and I'll update my review at that time.

A comparison of Q Acoustics 3020i and Jamo S803s In this case, Kef's Q150s are the clear favorites
5/5

These shoes were on sale for $300 during Father's day. I bought white ones. At the same time, I also bought Q Acoustics 3020i's ($300) and Jamo S803's ($200) to evaluate their sound and determine which pair I would like It ended up that I kept my Kef Q150s (as well as my All three of them are very good speakers, one that I am sure anybody would be happy to own. They all look very nice, which actually matters to me a lot- I think the Kefs are the best looking.

Build quality seems to be similar across the board, so I don't have any complaints. Jamos are certainly a step down from the other two, but I think they still look great and there was nothing I was concerned about. The Q Acoustics cabinets do seem to be a bit better than Kefs in construction, but they are all very There is nothing bad to say about the S803s from Jamo - There is a dynamic signature in their sound that accentuates the highs and the mids It is a bit low. I think this would be perfect for an The level of listening is just right because I can have the speakers at a moderate pitch so as not to bother my neighbors but still find the speakers enjoyable There are several Q's in the document The room is extremely flat in terms of acoustics. The majority of the songs on this CD are relatively boring at the volume levels I am used to. As I had hoped, the Jamo's do not play as deep into the game- It is absolutely necessary to have a subwoofer. Even though the Kefs were deeper than either of the other two, I was surprised by how much lower the driver was without the massive surrounds. The Jamo's give some energy to the higher bass range, but then they drop off very quickly, so they're not very appealing to me. Also, the Jamos are much less efficient than the other two pairs. Their power needs to be increased. As an alternative, I have an amp rated to 20 watts RMS that can drive the Jamo speakers to a level that is uncomfortable for me to listen to in a mid-sized room There are many sizes of rooms. Though they are inefficient, you don't need anything special to make them I also like the Q Acoustic 3020i headphones very much. It has rounded corners which I like. Despite their size, these speakers are actually very large due to their very deep design. The Kefs sound and look nice, and I think the proportions are best, but all three look lovely and sound great. These 3020i speakers are certainly improved over the Jamos, and their sound signature tends to be a little more flat. Although both had similar imaging and sound stages, they differed in other aspects. The second reason I kept the Jamos instead of the Q Acoustics was that I enjoyed listening to music more using the Jamos than I did I would recommend the Jamos- 3020i since they will probably perform better, but I may be biased They would both be cheaper even if they were the same price, but in particular because the Jamos are so much The Kefs were actually the most superior of the three. I was blown away to hear for myself how much better the Kefs were than the other two. The best way possible. This was the first time I truly noticed the difference made by the Uni Q (concentric) driver. It was apparent right away that there was a difference I didn't hear anything wrong or bad when I listened to the other speakers, but everything had more depth, space, and clarity when audible through the kefs speakers. I was surprised by the fact that these speakers got deeper than the others. In my opinion, I still need a subwoofer to suit my own tastes. However, these are much closer to the point where you don't need one, and they would be perfect on their own for most genres. However, for me, the imaging is the real standout feature that really makes me fall in love with these speakers. When you play a well-chosen song, it's almost as if the speakers are just in the background - it really is as if the room is making its own music The positions of these are well recorded during the recording. In comparison to LS50's, these Kefs come close to the experience for just a fraction of the cost. While the LS50s are much better in every way than both two other sets--they are not as good as these Kefs. However, there are no unification fees I don't believe that Q driver is just marketing nonsense. The decision to purchase these handsets based on the sale price of around $300 is easy (which they also hit during Black Friday and even during much of the Christmas Season). However, at $550, there is some question about whether the cost difference is worth it. That is a matter of individual preference. In terms of value, I'm probably going to choose the Jamos. In my comparison, all three pairs of speakers are good, but the q150s were the clear winner. Please note My first pair of test speakers are on my desk, but I probably will put another pair on my living room couch. At this point, I can't say anything about how the two speakers compare against each other I work in.
