As far as I'm concerned, no spacers were necessary for me. You cannot tell from the appearance of the grill that it is deeper than it appears. There is plenty of clearance for the speaker to turn.
It is unknown, but it is likely. To protect an Eminence LAB 12, I used the Eminence LAB 12 security software.
A sub only 8 inches is not enough

It is very well made the speaker has a very large foam roll -- literally a huge roll. I could find only one set of shoes with this height. A thickness of 3 inches.
