I'm not certain. It's compatible with my Xfinity cable.
You can use it outside.br>Weather seals should be used. br>However, you should not use it with or for Directv or Dish. Cable Splitters aren't intended for that purpose.
A passive junction connector is what this device is. Depending on the distance your signal must travel, you may need to use amplification. Mine works fine without any amplification, and the signal travels more than 50 feet from the source to the receiver.
My cable company's technician originally installed the splitter. I had no problems with an extreme splitter, so I continued to use different extreme splitters in different places after making some house repairs, and I have had no problems with them so far. However, they differ in how they split their signal; some are pass through, while others are not, so do your research and find one that fits your frequency band, range, and what you're waiting in line for. br>I use mine in two ways: first, I use it to keep track of my expenses. I attempted to set it up so that a cable signal could be distributed to multiple televisions in my home. The cable box (a Spectrum Cisco box) was stuck in the initialization process. When I decided to try and remove the splitter from the connection and just hook the box directly to the cable, I called Spectrum support and had a technician scheduled to come out. Voila! It had the desired effect. I have some long runs to and from the splitter; I'm not sure if that makes a difference, or if the device was defective, or if it simply attenuated the signal too much for the box regardless of run length, but the end result was that it didn't work.
even if they are powered. I have an omni-directional powered omni-directional omni-directional omni-directional omni- Outside OTA antenna with a directional pattern to pick up stations from 40 to 50 miles away. I was using a powered splitter as well as a regular splitter to connect 5 TVs before I discovered this. Before I tried this one, I had a lot of pixelation. It eliminated a lot of cable clutter and connections while also reducing pixelation to a minimum. If you're not in a tree-lined valley like we are, you shouldn't have any trouble seeing stations at the distances listed above. I'm not sure how much further I could go.
It really works. My outdoor television antenna is connected to a Channel Master preamplifier, which is set to high, and then to this 8-way passive splitter. It's connected to four televisions and two digital video recorders, all of which receive excellent reception.
For me, it was a win-win situation. I was concerned about the mhz range because I had seen some that were significantly higher. But I get a lot of digital television channels, so I assume it's fine; my personal theory is that the lower mhz range filters out unwanted signal noise; who knows, but it works.
I used it to replace a number of splitters in my basement. I receive local broadcast stations with the help of an antenna and an amplifier. Eliminating the multiple splitters and combining all of my cable feeds into this appeared to improve the signal to my house's TVs slightly. Not having multiple splitters all over the place also makes it look much cleaner.
This connector was used to connect all of the wires in my home that were connected by a Channelmaster antenna and booster. I'm getting 50 free HD OTA channels!.
It also came with a screw that needed to be installed separately.
To my existing co-worker connections, I wanted to add two more. I was looking for an ax splitter but couldn't find one, so I ordered this one, which works perfectly. It's a fantastic device, and I give it five stars.
