Specifically, I have the DECA ethernet to coax adaptor Gen 2, which I purchased from DirectTV. It is a bisexual couple A splitter such as this can be used to split them on the coax side. The outputs that I am using are 3 and the remaining output is closed. In my house, the ethernet is installed in most rooms to keep my neighbors from jamming the Internet. I am sure that some people have 2GHz boosters. Furthermore, the 5Hz is strange because the routers are all scanning their channels in adaptive manner. The Internet is what I use to be connected since I have cut the cord long ago. It is necessary to filter cable TV if you still have it.
It works well, but note that if you intend to move the main receiver to a different cable port, there are a couple key points to mention. First, the cable (external to your home) connecting to the port (either inside or outside of your home) where the main receiver will be plugged into Port 1 of this splitter must pass through. Also, if this (the main) receiver has an established signal, any additional secondary receivers will be able to receive that signal as well.
This unit was in good condition and can be used for Directv, so I was pleased to find it. There is a mine outside and it is exposed to all kinds of weather. Weather conditions, such as rain, and harsh storms, are protected through the unit.
I would have purchased a two way splitter if I knew more about it. If I had done more research, I would have bought a four way splitter. In addition to this, a Multiswitch SWM8 is required for powering the device. You must plug in the power inserter into the power connection. This means that if it is not plugged in properly, the power to the multiswitch will not be sent to the receiver and no signal will be received. My review of the SWM8 Multiswitch can be found here.
It works when it is wired properly, once you know how to do As I discovered when it arrived, the first port (the one with the "Power Pass" notation) must be hooked up to a working DirecTV decoder box in order for the other three ports to function. There was no signal at the other two ports because there was no box at the end of the first port. Initially, I split the signal to three different rooms, but I did not hook up a box at the end of the line. All the ports worked when I added the box at the end of the line for the "Power Pass" port.
This did not work for me if I was looking to expand or add more TV extensions to my house. My needs were met, but I had to call the guy to come fix everything because he ended up using something he had on hand.
Having used these DirecTV splitters, I have found their build quality to be excellent, as well as their loss and bandwidth performance. In my home I use the splitters not for DirecTV, but as a distribution system for antenna television using MoCA networking (band D, somewhere between 1150 MHz and 1500 MHz). It's very similar to what I did at my mother's Password for the DC pass needs to be used at a relative's home This allows power to be provided to the preamp up on the mast, with everything connected with quad-conductor connections. With the capability to shield RG6 coax, these splitters perform very well.
