Using a 10 foot headphone cord with a 25 foot extension, I get good sound quality.
The term used to describe 1/4" (or 1/8") balanced connectors is descriptively accurate. One can find TRS plugs on the end of most headphone cables. Here is an image of what one looks like. Due to the great reviews and the thickness of the cable, I purchased two of these cables. Hosa cables always seem to wear out after a few months so I've also owned several of them. As an extension, I am using them with a pair of Sennheiser headphones. My first pair of Pig Hog headphones worked perfectly for just under 6 months, then the sound suddenly stopped on one side. I then purchased another set, but the wireless connection wasn't working right from the start. The female connector snaps into place securely, but the wireless connection is loosely connected. tested the headphone cable both by itself and with another extension, and they both worked successfully, so it isn't the cable itself that is problematic. It has become increasingly frustrating to pay $10 here and $15 there for new cables that don't last. It's just going to be one pair by Grado for me. I know it costs a lot at $40, but from what I've read, it will last a very long time and has a very strong.
The Zeskit AU112 Braided Nylon 12 Feet Premium Audio cable is a narrower cable with a more curved shape. A few days ago, it gave up and was working on one side only. Poor thing. Both blades have been bent in a few places. Although that improved things, as I proudly inserted and removed the male plug a few times to show myself what a good job I did, the blades bent back to the loose position they were in at first. I feel like they are soft metal, as well as not having the spring they need for this purpose.
Despite the cable and male TRS plug not being perfect, the cable and plug are good. It must also be said that the female TRS jack is about as bad as it gets. The purpose of getting this was to be able to have a little more range for my headphones when listening to record albums. With this setup attached to my Yamaha 303 receiver, I have my Focal Elegia headphones connected to the system. This works just like I hoped it would. This cable does not have the same quality of sound as when I hook up the headphones directly, but I did not expect it to be as good, so I do not mind.
