Yes, but if you're talking about the PS4 Pro, you won't need it.
Yes, you'll need to connect an hdmi cable from your console to the adapter, then another hdmi cable from the adapter to your monitor. So only connect one hdmi to your monitor, but you'll need two hdmi cables (one of which is already included).
Hello there,br>br>If you require 4k for video content, the HDMI adapter can be replaced with a non-HDMI adapter. HDMI 2 adapter for Astro.
Yes, it does, and make sure you get the Dolby Sound Filter from the Xbox Marketplace. So far, I've enjoyed it. I'm currently playing Halo 5, a competitive game in which excellent sound is required.

I was ecstatic to see this adapter because I adore my Astro A50 headphones, but when playing high-definition games like Spider-Man, it's difficult to keep them in place. The video, Miles Morales, quickly faded to black and then stopped working entirely. The adapter was extremely hot, and the console was still turned on and running. The video was crisp and clear once I connected the HDMI cable directly to the console. br>br>If all you want to do with your PS5 is play simple games or games from the previous generation, go ahead. br>br>Unfortunately, if you want the best video quality the next generation has to offer, you'll have to look elsewhere. br>br>If your TV/Home Theater has an optical audio output, that might be the best option. Unfortunately, that is not the case in my situation.
This item was a huge letdown. The return to full functionality, which was backed up by other reviews as well as the Astro website, is completely false. This is an adapter that should only be used if your television lacks an optical audio port, and it is only required for the PS5, as Xbox Series X gives you full functionality of the mixamp, mixamp pro, mixamp pr trx, and essentially all of them. Full audio control and the ability to toggle Dolby audio drivers on and off are the only features available on the PS5. When you connect the optical port on your television or this adapter to the presets, they all sound the same. Astro should have described their headsets as "future proof," which is a much more accurate description. ish. If you own a PS5, your astros will be nothing more than a stereo headset with a premium label (unless it was recently purchased and made specifically for the PS5).
Since the original Astro A40's/MixAmp, I've been a customer of Astro. Since the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S removed the optical ports (WHY? ), I've been using their products and have been extremely pleased with the quality. ), we've had to choose between dealing with the poor audio quality provided by the USB cable or purchasing one of these to "allow" us to use our optical cable- once more with audio I'll be honest, I'm a little frustrated with the whole thing. Not all of this is Astro Gaming's fault; Microsoft/Sony are to blame for the removal of optical ports, and some game developers have not coded their games "correctly" to use the MixAmp without the optical port (we're looking at you, PUBG developers). This device didn't necessarily restore the sound I had previously (on my Xbox One X), but it was unquestionably superior to the audio provided by the USB cable. br>br>To enter the 1-year program, five-star rating:
- The only way to contact Astro Gaming's technical support is by email. When you run into a problem that could be easily resolved with a 5-minute phone call or live chat, it's extremely frustrating. You won't hear back for several days/weeks, which is disappointing for a company that was acquired by LOGITECH! I had to call their customer service number several times (only billing/shipping agents) after waiting several days for them to forward my emails to the technical support team so that they could respond "faster. " "This is a frustrating process in and of itself, but then you will receive a response that only partially answers your question(s). " Then you'll have to send another email, wait another three days, and repeat the process. 4 days later, you'll receive an answer to your original query. It's a pain to go through the procedure. I have high expectations for this company, which I admire because of the quality of its products.
- This is going to be a sweltering experience! Yes, electronics get hot when they're turned on for a long time, but this thing gets way hotter. " This could be the source of my next complaint's problems.
- My $300 capture card appeared to have been destroyed by this device, which is odd. After spending $500 on a new Xbox, I'm having a lot of audio problems. I have to buy a $40 HDMI adapter to get my audio "back to normal," and Astro Gaming support is a waste of time, and then the thing breaks my capture card. The HDMI signal that passes through this device has caused my capture card to not display my Xbox stream fully/at all, and it is not providing any audio to my stream, instead emitting an insanely loud screeching noise; even after removing the Astro HDMI adapter, the capture card still screeches and isn't displaying any image. Before I added this HDMI adapter to my setup, the card worked perfectly. WEIRD! Elgato customer service determined that the capture card was defective, so I'll have to replace it. MANY MANY THANKS TO ASTRO GAMING! br>br>At the end of the day, Astro requires improved support systems. It's inexcusable that technical support is only available via email, and that responses can take days or weeks. They needed to put this product through a few more rounds of testing before releasing it. Watch out, streamers! Don't make the same mistake I did with my capture cards and computers!.
It claims to work with 4k, but it does not. My television has a 4k60hz hdmi port, but no video appears. I unplug the box and connect my PS5 to the same port, and everything works fine. I had to use my other port, which is 1080p 60hz, which works but doesn't look nearly as good as the 4k.
The only disappointment is that the Xbox Series X is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. 120hz was something I really wanted to experience. It will, hopefully, happen soon:.
I have an Astro A40 with mix amp, and I bought a 4k hdmi passthrough with optical for my headset, but it didn't passthrough HDR. My PS5 recognized the HDR and 4K when I received it. This works great if you use the proper hdmi cords with the proper hdmi port (if you have a television) or monitor (in my case). This book comes highly recommended.
My Astro A50 headset is from the third generation. I had a lot of fun with them on my PS4 Pro. I was frustrated, like many other Astro customers, when I upgraded to a PS5 and discovered it lacked an optical audio port. The ASTRO Gaming HDMI Adapter for Playstation 5 is a middle-of-the-road option. br>br>Let's start with the good news. Second, the bad news: If you have a 4K television and are careful with your PS5 settings, this adaptor will allow you to continue using your Astro headset as before. br>br>Second, the bad news: The HDMI 2 standard was chosen by Astro when designing this product. Instead of the newer HDMI 2, a 0 standard was used. 1 standard; whether or not this affects you depends on the capabilities of your television. If you have a television that can display a 4k video resolution at a 120 Hz refresh rate, you won't be able to use this adaptor to take advantage of the 120 Hz refresh rate at a 4k resolution. HDMI 2. 1 has a 4K video resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This feature is also available on the PS5. HDMI 2. 0 has a 4k video resolution and a refresh rate of 60 frames per second. You'll be fine with 4k if you make sure your PS5 is set to 60 Hz as well. That's what I did, and I didn't have to buy a new headset in the process. That's a trade I can live with. off.
