I use mine with the record player turned off because it works well for picking up dust, and I have a dog, so dog hair is an issue.

Most of the time, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Removes surface dust from LPs quickly with only a few passes and does not appear to leave any residue on the LP, but I don't believe the 'in under 5 seconds as your album spins' part of the description is entirely accurate. You can't (easily) follow the grooves of the LP with this because it's so 'grippy,' so you'll have to roll it across the vinyl surface in straight passes, which won't happen while your LP is spinning on the turntable. I didn't even try to use it while my LP was playing on the turntable, let alone while it was spinning. I would recommend putting the LP on another flat surface while cleaning with this product; I'm not sure how deep this product can reach into the grooves; it's certainly not as 'deep down' as your stylus, so I wouldn't expect this to clean as well for those who are used to wet-cleaning. systems for cleaning I've used this product on its own and it works well, but it's even better when combined with a soft brush. Use a brush to clean the LP as usual, then use this product to remove the brush's 'dust line. ' There hasn't been any static build-up that I've noticed. This product has helped me catch up on my LPs, which is a bonus. I deducted one star because, like another reviewer, the product is a bit pricey when compared to similar rollers marketed for LPs that sell for half the price; this item is more attractive in appearance and packaging than other cheaper versions, but those aesthetic differences may only be important to some.
Because it's more difficult to use with the table in motion, I load an album onto my Rega P6 and roll it over before starting to play. Even on albums that appear to be dust-free, the Record Pal picks up a surprising amount of dust. br>It's very sticky but doesn't leave any residue on the album, and it's incredibly easy to clean by running it under my kitchen faucet's spray. Allow it to dry in the included lockable case (the case is extremely useful because the plastic handle is too light for the roller's weight, so don't throw it away after opening!). ), and you'll be able to use it over and over again! See pics. Between the necessary, and depending on the mechanical record cleaner you own, tediously time consuming deep cleans, this is the easiest and most cost-effective way to help keep all of your beloved vinyl dust-free. Your vinyl deserves to look and sound their absolute best.
I didn't believe it at first. I brought along my tried-and-true carbon fiber brush. I was recently purchasing a large fudge product and needed to select a second in order to receive a coupon. I thought to myself, "What the hell?" and went out and purchased the roller. This is the first test. I had just completed a thorough cleaning of some records. I put one on the turntable and used the roller to go around it. What the hell is going on? It was incredible how much fuzz and dirt it removed from my "clean" record! The same thing has happened on every record I've used it on. I now use it every time I play a record, and it's as good as new after a quick rinse. It's unclear how long the sticky will last, but I can't recommend it highly enough.
br>br>Use this along with your other cleaning tools - it's the best way to remove surface dust and it's super easy to use, so I use it every time I play a record. Other cleaning tools that should be in your cleaning kit are supplemented by this, not replaced. br>br>I use this on records that have already been cleaned to get rid of any surface dust that has accumulated between plays. Because dust can settle on the record while walking across the room from my cleaning station to the turntable, I use it to touch up the surface when moving it from my cleaning station to the turntable. br>br>It also appears to be in good condition. It will not detract from the appearance of a nice turntable if left out.
Vinyl records with no dust: I'm new to vinyl, and I'm slowly learning that it necessitates special attention and care. I was about to buy some fancy, noob kit to deal with the dust problem when I came across this simple tool. I liked the fact that the dust can be washed away but the stickiness remains. That is how I obtained it. br>br>I've used it on a few records, and seeing the dust specks vanish is actually quite enjoyable and satisfying. A sturdy plastic clip is also included with the cleaner. Covering the sticky part to ensure that it is always protected. I'm a big supporter. A fantastic product at a fantastic price!.
br>br>This thing WORKS. It's also very effective. It removes all visible dust from the record and can be used several times before needing to be rinsed. I've already cleaned a lot of vinyl, and the stickiness isn't going away. br>br>There are a few different options for these, but this was the only matte black one I could find. In addition, the packaging was appealing. I'm going to give a few of these to some of my record-collecting friends. This would make a fantastic stocking stuffer.
The trick, I discovered, is in the angle - It won't roll cleanly against the record if it's not lined up correctly; I line it up by holding the handle upside-down perpendicular to the record. It pulls a lot of dust and junk out of records that appear to be clean once it's lined up and rolling smoothly. It's simple to clean and has a limitless number of uses.
