Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Due to covid restrictions, only USPS Priority Mail Express International is available for delivery to Australia and New Zealand.
Major archival institutions use a Tergitol surfactant blend like this. Cleaning old shellac or acetate records is not recommended. Concentrated in every way. This recipe yields 30 gallons (113 liters). Users have reported cleaning over 1000 records with just one bottle of the solution (6 litres).
Rinse with distilled water if you want to use it. There are links to videos included in the instructions, so this isn't a one-step product.
For manual record cleaning; also works with Big Fudge, Spin-Clean, Know, RecordPro, Vinyl Vac, Studebaker, and other similar systems.
For the best results, ultrasonic cleaning is recommended. Compatible with iSonic, Record Doctor, HappyBuy, Pro-Ject, KAIU, Degritter, Audio Desk, VPI, WEWU, HFS, and other brands of audio equipment.

Questions & Answers

Why does the fluid start to deteriorate after only two years? In that time, I won't be able to use even a fraction of the fluid.?

Tergitol, as found in TergiKleen, has a two-year shelf life, according to Dow Chemical. We've never heard of it going bad, and many people seem to believe that the two-year shelf life claim is just Dow's way of protecting its bottom line.

I have a vacuum-assisted record doctor cleaning machine. If the tergikleen solution has been vacuumed off, do I still need to rinse the record?

Yes, even after vacuuming the TergiKleen solution, the record must be rinsed thoroughly with distilled water before being vacuumed off again with your Record Doctor machine. I'm using the TergiKleen solution with my Nitty Gritty vacuum record cleaning machine, and there is a noticeable reduction in surface noise after rinsing and a second vacuum pass.

Is there anything else in this concentrate besides tergitol?

TergiKleen is made up of the same mixture of Tergitol types that professional archivists use. There aren't any extra ingredients, and they aren't required. Other than distilled water, we don't recommend adding anything. We provide detailed instructions and welcome requests for additional information via email.

Is TergiKleen effective at removing mold? releasing substances ?

It will, in fact. However, don't make the common mistake of adding anything to Tergikleen. There are TWO Tergitol formulas combined into one to cover all contaminants, so you don't need any other substances. People who mix alcohol with Tergikleen send me emails every now and then. This RUINS the product; you don't need alcohol, and it's best to avoid it entirely.

This stuff is effective
5/5

I've been looking for a way to clean my LPs on a budget. Tergikleen was looking for people with bigger brains than me, which is probably a good thing because the government never gets it wrong. I saw a guy on YouTube using Harbor Freight (40993) suction cups, which I already had from a shower door installation. In the video, he uses a Shur-Fit Shur-Fit Shur-Fit Shur-Fit Shur-Fit Shur- Microfiber brush for drawing lines. I had the full size, which, in my opinion, works better because of the size and the spring-loaded handle. The Tergikleen, a few spray bottles, and some distilled water were all I needed. I mixed it up according to the directions and got to work. The method is effective. It won't get rid of scratches, but it will reduce pops and clicks on older records and eliminate them on newer records from the 1980s. I'm aware that I should be wearing gloves as instructed, but I believe it's more of a "cover your azz" situation. Anyway, take a look; normally, I'd place the record on a drying rack to reduce the amount of water on the towel. I bought a Grant's Premium XL Plush Towel from Harbor Fright. I hope it works out for you as well as it has for me. br>br>Music is Remain In Light, The Great Curve, side 1, track 3 by Talking Heads. Systemdek IIX turntable, Infinity Black Widow tonearm, Ortofon M2 Blue cartridge.

I was e- The seller persuaded me to post this
5/5

I recently purchased this item because I've become more interested in cleaning up my records. For years, I've employed the services of a Record Doctor. In addition, I recently purchased a Spin Clean. My new regimen, which is still being tested, consists of using the Spin Clean with the Tergi Kleen (which requires a rinse after use), then rinsing, then vacuuming with the Record Doctor. I've found that using both methods together reduces background noise, though I haven't used the Tergi Clean long enough to know for sure about its long-term effects, so caveat emptor homies. In addition, I'm not finished with my research. When funds allow, I hope to incorporate ultrasonic cleaning into the process. Meanwhile, the Amazon sellers want me to talk about this item right away- NOW! NOW! RIGHT THIS MOMENT! They've stated it clearly in an email. I long for the days when merchants made a profit by selling something. moved on. When did it become acceptable to use cyberspace as a business model? Is it just a desperate need for validation if you stalk your previous customers? If I knew, I'd be in a lot of trouble.

This is something I employ in my Spin-off business
5/5

When compared to the Spin-X, the Clean MKII produces amazing results. Its own cleaning liquid is used to clean it. Tergikleen has a lot of good things going for it. This is something I employ in my Spin-off business. When compared to the Spin-X, the Clean MKII produces amazing results. Cleans with its own cleaning solution, which isn't half bad. Tergikleen makes a noticeable difference in the visual appearance of the vinyl as well as the audio quality, in my opinion. There are fewer cracks and pops. It won't remove scratches, but it will eliminate a lot of the other audible surface noise caused by dust and grime in the grooves. I've cleaned around 150 LPs and a few 45s so far. It's simple to put together, and the Spin-It feature makes it even easier. It's simple to use and is very clean. I also purchased the less expensive Spin-off. After cleaning, clean to rinse. Because it's garbage, that wasn't the best decision. I'm going to order a new Spin-off. Clean up as soon as possible.

Recommend it to everyone! I pulled my old record collection from storage a few months ago
5/5

I bought a regular cleaning pad and a small bottle of cleaner, just like the ones I used all those years ago, and cleaned and listened to a few records. I bought a Vinyl Styl cleaner and it worked wonders on the ones I listened to hundreds of times back then. I did more research on cleaning and then decided to buy an ultrasonic cleaner (Vevor 6L from Amazon) and use various DIY cleaning solutions, which helped even more. Then I bought a Tergikleen bottle, and I was blown away! Because of the wide variety of sounds (from a symphony orchestra) and the fact that there are several really quiet parts with only a single instrument being played, one of the records I've been experimenting with is a Handel Water Music. When it comes to pops, this is the most inconvenient time. It was difficult to listen to with just the brush and fluid cleaning because of all the noise, but the Vinyl Styl (and the fluid that came with it) helped a lot, and the ultrasonic helped even more. THEN, at 100 degrees F, I added 20 drops of Tergikleen to a gallon of distilled water. in an ultrasonic bath for 40 minutes Not only is it quieter, but it also sounds better in terms of music; the strings, horns, and other instruments sound fantastic! Cleaning in the ultrasonic, rinsing in the Vinyl Styl with distilled water and 8 drops of Photo Flo 200 for about 15 revolutions, and air drying on the rack that came with the Vinyl Styl are my current methods. As a result, there will be no more DIY solutions in the future - Tergikleen is what I'm going to use! Because the latter contains a surfactant, I now use Photo Flo only during the rinse, and at 8 drops per 16 oz bottle, it will last a long time. Now is the time to purchase Tergikleen.
