A major cost-saving measure has clearly been opted for by Monoprice. Consequently, both the white exterior sheathing and the insulation around the wires appear thinner than in the past. I find that it is cheaply made and is flimsy. However, I used it in an application that would be seen by others, so the new paper was not intended for anyone else to see it. Sheathing that is too thin is unacceptable. The individual conductors inside the cable are visible and makes the cable look like a ropy one rather than a round one like it was in the past. Despite having a CL2 rating, I'm still surprised that they made it. If I need my 4-pack of cigarettes elsewhere, I'll have to turn elsewhere Choosing the right conductor cable is essential.
Here are some photos showing how bad the spool is Both the ends and the center of the disks are made of cheap cardboard that breaks with shipping, and the central disk is made from cheap plastic that breaks even after shipping. One 250' box had one plastic center core broken and one cardboard side had been broken off of all four parts. So if you try to pull, the wire will fall to the ground. photo below. issue regarding the cat6 wire packaging on their 1,000 foot network cables. Unless you carry them by proper grip holes, or tear down the cardboard during installation, it is a huge pain. It's OK to use them for a single installation at home on the assumption that you don't intend to use them anywhere else. It is better not to operate a business with these products if you do this for a living. You should not depend on them for your livelihood. The products are getting cheaper and cheaper over the last 24 months. I've bought Monoprice for many years, and I think it's mostly because they have cut so many corners. It can definitely be said that there is some value for the money, but the aggravation and problems are starting to turn them into a liability.
The 11. I installed is working correctly. Two audio systems have been connected with this cable and the decision is regretted immensely. The additional 100ft spool I ordered I ended up requesting a refund for after several attempts to get good sound quality from the cable. It would be nice if I could get a refund for those two previously purchased, but I doubt they will accept a refund for cable that has already been cut. I changed the cable I had with a better brand of cable and it works wonders and now audio comes out clear and booming.
AWG CL2 Rated 2 Conductor Speaker Cable - Monoprice Access Series 12 Gauge AWG 12 Gauge AWG CL2 Rated 2 Conductor Speaker Cable There have been times when I have purchased incorrectly labeled wire, so I perform a weight and count before buying the wire Including the wire and cardboard spool, the entire spool has a total of The maximum cable length is 12" with two conductors and insulation, so with all of it it's 14Kg. Considering there are 7grams on a spool, it's reasonable to assume there are 250' on there as well. When a conductor is stripped of all insulation, it is equal to One conductor has 70 strands, so it is equivalent to 70grams of 6x65 strands. Thus, the mass of a 12" or 30cm length of bare conductor (70strands) is about Ninety eight percent of 8 grams was accounted for by 7 grams. I scale and measure no more than 888grams, which is well within my measurement range. I love the Spools of cardboard and plastic because of their durability.
I read many of the 82 reviews before purchasing, but I am not going through them all again. There are 82 reviews at the time of this writing, and there are 82 at the time this writing. I noticed something that I don't think anyone else noted there is a clearly marked path down each of the wires. As a result, you get 100 feet when you unravel it. In some scenarios, this can be helpful, and I thought it was helpful. Additionally, the roll, purchased at a deal in an open box, came clearly marked at the 100 foot level, so I didn't see a need to unravel it all to see if 100 feet were present. Having this feature is a nice touch and something not usually seen on.
The price is very reasonable It was very easy to pull the wire because it is very thick. Although it won't be considered audiophile grade, it will be a perfect fit for home theater applications in 99% of cases In this price range, it is far superior to a lot of other cables I have purchased. A home theater installation made from audiophile-grade speaker wire is out of reach to 9% of consumers. In order to use 4 Dolby Atmos, I needed about Rather than running out of paper and having to order another roll, it's probably better to overestimate.
