Yes, it's likely to stay put. I haven't dropped it yet and have no intention of doing so, but the cover is very secure.

The back cover has a non-slip surface. It will not slide on any of the surfaces I have tried (glass, wood, and plastic). The top (or front) cover is not as non-slip as the bottom (or back) cover. It's textured, not smooth, so it doesn't slide around, but it doesn't stay in place as well as the back cover. The back-of-the-envelope is on my lap. Most fabrics (tracksuits, jeans, leggings) are non-slip, but I haven't tested it with something super smooth, like silk.

This iPad cover outperforms the Apple iPad cover by a long shot. After purchasing the Apple cover, I discovered that it does not cover the back of the iPad. And, to be honest, it appears foolish to protect only the screen and not the back. This item is better because it can be folded. It can be used as an iPad stand, and the back is made of soft plastic, but it is sturdy enough to protect the back of your iPad from scratches. I'm happy with my purchase because it's four times less expensive than the Apple cover. It's a perfect fit for the iPad 10. 2 screen.
The fabric was beautiful, and it was a perfect fit. Everything is exactly as it should be. Just a minor quibble: the buttons are a little difficult to press. Hopefully, with use, they will become easier to press, but it is well worth the money!.
On the iPad, the controls are extremely tight. This case's colors appeal to me greatly. It snugly fits my new iPad and does not pop out. The base of the stand is well-built. It works well on a hard surface, but not so well on a soft surface (such as a lap). When you're using your iPad, it won't wiggle.
2 inches is the perfect length! It's soft and sturdy, and it has a rich, high-quality feel to it.

It's a lot more durable than I expected. I'm also a color aficionado. I would strongly suggest it.
This iPad case (Rose Gold) is one of my favorites. However, I would have given it five stars if I could. I noticed I was having a lot of trouble with my volume controls (turning the volume up and down) and the power switch (on/off). I thought the case didn't quite fit my iPad properly at first. Finally, I removed the case from my iPad to discover that these functions were not accessible through the case. As a result, I used small tools to open them up, and WOW! Through those holes, I was able to make contact! Now I'm a lot more cheerful. Is it possible that the manufacturer overlooked something? This would not deter me from placing another order. This was only a minor annoyance to me. fixed it.
