Questions & Answers

Are you having trouble getting your iPad Mini 5 to sit down? Any help? Or perhaps why it isn't appropriate? Thanks?

Some numbers and letters can be found on the back, just below the Apple icon. That's the model number you're looking for. Now go to Apple and look up your model number to see what generation iPad you have (I had to do this to get mine). Then you'll need to get your OtterBox for that pacific generation.

Is it possible to wash it?

No case is completely impervious to water.

It doesn't have to be this complicated, so let's get started
3/5

Yes. It's solid, and it appears to provide adequate protection for an iPad. Unfortunately, we've been spoiled for the past 6 years by a Ballistic iPad mini case, which is no longer available. So I don't buy into the argument that "sure, it's inconvenient and bulky, but it has to be in order to protect well. " " It doesn't work like that at all. br>br>Because the plastic Otterbox uses is so rigid, it's difficult to put on and take off the protective cover. When Kiddo's alarm goes off and he's already gone somewhere, it takes me a long time to open the door and close it. I also have trouble finding the power and volume buttons by touch because they blend in so well. The kickstand, which is on the inside of the cover that you remove to set the iPad on, is completely ridiculous. It's not very secure, and now that this model includes a pencil holder, it won't stay up in some positions - It teeters totters totters totters totters totters totters totters totters to So it's a three-position kickstand rather than a four-position kickstand. Because the situation is anything but stable, a tug on a charger or headphone cord causes it to slip off the kickstand instead of just sliding a little on the table or doing nothing at all. We already know it's tough because it fell to the floor more times in the first day than the iPad did in a year in its previous case. br>br>It's quite heavy in comparison to other options for similar protection, and it's extremely difficult to set up. I'm not the kind of person who needs to read directions, and these ones were useless. To get it on, I had to use YouTube and a lot of swearing, as well as a sliced open cuticle. Even then, it didn't quite fit around the speakers and required a lot of prodding with a toothpick to get it in place. br>br>I sincerely hope that another rugged iPad mini case with a kickstand and a shell that covers the screen will be released someday. Because this isn't good enough.

After only a week of use, my screen had cracked
3/5

Our young children have dropped, thrown, chewed on, and otherwise abused our Apple iPhones and iPads, and they have always worked perfectly. We recently purchased new iPads for the kids for Christmas, and of course, we ordered new Otterbox cases. Right out of the box, I could tell they weren't of the same caliber as the others. The interior cases are much lighter and flimsier than before, and the outside hard case that protects the screen when it's not in use is thicker, heavier, and frankly, a pain to use. It takes a lot of effort to get it off the tablet and onto the computer. In addition, you must remove it to access the charging port, which was not the case with previous Otterbox generations. The most serious flaw is that my son's iPad screen cracked after only a week of using this case! We were devastated because we had decided not to order the AppleCare warranty because we didn't think we'd need it with the Otterbox. The replacement screen was going to cost $160, but since we've only had the iPad for less than 30 days, Amazon is replacing it for free. Otterbox, where did your quality go?.

THIS HAS TO BE DONE! THIS IS FOR YOU if you have children or if you're just a clumsy adult
5/5

br>br>Unfortunately, this is my second, but not in a negative way. THE END RESULTS ARE OUTSTANDING! (Let me explain)br>br> I have an autistic son who threw his iPad Mini 5 off the second story of our house, as if it were a frisky. It landed on concrete, and while the case stayed put, some clips holding the shell together were broken. Although the iPad had bowed slightly, the screen and case were free of marks (just a bad bow). Even though the iPad was still functional, we decided to replace it. br>br>Anyway, LONG STORY SHORT, the iPad Case performed admirably, and I would enthusiastically recommend Otterbox cases. Just putting it out there. This is a must-have, and it does an excellent job of protecting the item inside. br>br>This is without a doubt my FAVORITE iPad case, and I've owned a lot of them!.

Excellent defense
4/5

Otterbox should create a hybrid defender/commuter. Installing this was not a nightmare for me. I'd heard of a few people who had done so. I looked for the one thing that wasn't obvious to me in a YouTube video (I believe it was the clips around the shell, but YouTube and my 11-year-old figured it out for me). It acts as a protective otter box. I wish Otter Box would make a defender-style case that you could put your own screen protector in or a glass case that they could install for you. I despise spending $500 on a gadget only to have it covered in plastic. The entire experience is a lot less pleasurable. However, because this is used by a small child, it is what must be done because there is no other option (I tried the commuter and love it for my phone, but my 6-year-old doesn't touch it, so it's not a big deal). The commuter does not provide the same level of protection as the defender). The charging port is also a pain because I have to remove the top shell to get to it, and once there, it's difficult to open and the cable has to be shoved into it. Occasionally, I misplace the cable and scrape the device. The headphone port is similar, but it is much less annoying because it is circular. I would buy it again, but I wish it came with a glass option.

In my hands, it is extremely durable and comfortable, and it is unquestionably worth the money
5/5

It's a great case that's well worth the investment. All ports are protected, and the power and volume buttons are easy to locate and press, and the built-in screen protector is fantastic; there is little glare when using it outside, and the screen remains visible even when watching shows or movies. I've had an otter box for all of Apple's iPhone and iPad mini models. It's a little big for the iPhone, but it's well worth it. And, in terms of the iPad mini 5, it feels very secure in my hands, and I am confident that the case will keep my iPad mini 5 safe.

It's a nice case, but it messes up Touch ID
5/5

I liked the case so much that when I sold my iPad Mini 4 and upgraded to the Mini 5, I bought the new case as well. For me, it was causing issues with Touch ID. Touch ID always worked when I removed the screen. I cut out and around the plastic sheet that covers the home button with an XACTO knife. After that, I didn't have any more issues.
