I have used both Canon and off brands of black ink & as in the black ink review, there is no comparison of the two both work well. There is no comparison to Canon Canon is the best!.

The Canon image class laser printers I use have excellent print quality. The word I have used is 4 There are five different, "off brands" to "save money" I have compared the OEM Canon ink with the "off brands" on another printer I purchased recently - I was able to save money. In no way even close to the truth I highly recommend the Canon OEM - it's light years better Keeping Canon OEM as a partner.

It was my expectation that I would be paying more and getting a better product. Reviews of the book were positive. I installed the cartridge soon after receiving it, although I heard the printer give an error code saying that the cartridge had expired after only a few months. Because I print almost exclusively in black, there was no need to use all of the Cyan toner. Buy it if you can, but I don't recommend it. There was no point in spending money on this.

My suspicion is that it was refurnished. suspect this cartridge because it was the first one we received that was packaged differently and had a pull tab in the cartridge in comparison to the ones I buy at office supply stores. The cartridge that came with this printer is also not marked with cyan stickers like all the other new cartridges, so I suspect that Canon may be reusing cartridge blanks that have been previously recycled for filling and selling.
