Questions & Answers

Is there a way to make this work on Linux?

I just installed Ubuntu 16.04 and gave it a shot. kernel number four 166- I couldn't see the cursor because it was too generic. I had the ability to scroll, select, and open items, as well as draw. I also used the DIGImend driver to see if it would work. The system would not boot, causing a lot of frustration. An unknown parameter in xorg was found to be the source of the problem. conf. When you connect the tablet to your computer via USB, it will turn on. br>The pen does not require charging because it is powered by technology that activates when it is brought close to the tablet! This is really cool: )br>For glitches, I had a lot of them as well, so what you need to do/what I did was make sure you downloaded the correct driver from the Huion website; the driver you'll need for this tablet is "Huion H610 Pro V2"; make sure it's "V2"; this is crucial! br>Make sure your computer is free of any other drivers! br>Once you've completed all of these steps, you should be ready to go! ) br>Have fun!

Is it possible to use this in a Powerpoint presentation? Is it possible to record a video of myself writing on the tablet and insert it into a powerpoint slide?

So, yes, it will work with PowerPoint, and you can use PowerPoint to record yourself.

In comparison to other expensive brands, this is an amazing and affordable tablet

EDITED IN MARCH 2020: This product is still in use, and my rating remains unchanged. It still works as well as the first day I got it. The plastic protector has held up well, and the pen continues to function flawlessly!! Just wanted to let you know that if you don't want to spend the money on the latest Huion or a Wacom, this is still a great tablet to get. br>br>If you don't want to read my entire review, here's a quick summary of what I had to say about this tablet. This tablet is a lot of fun to use. It does exactly what I need it to do, and I didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars to get it. If you're a student, hobbyist, or professional who wants to draw, model, or do anything else with a tablet, this is the one to get. As someone who works with an Intuos 4, I can say that this is on par with, if not better than, the Intuos 4, owing to the lower price and the fact that it works flawlessly with Windows' most recent update. br>br>**Pros / Cons of Product:*
Pricebr> Size overall and size of drawing surface is perfectbr> Came with drawing surface protector that was extremely easy to applybr> Doesn't feel rough and no scratches after heavy usebr> Has pen holder and 8 pen nibsbr> Pen pressure levelsbr> No recharging the pen (as other Huion tablets require)br> Works with latest Windows Update and Windows Ink The tablet and pen are both very light; I wouldn't want to put too much pressure on the pen for fear of breaking it. br>- Button configurations for multiple applications cannot be savedbr>- I'll update this review as I use it more, but I believe this tablet works extremely well for me, and I hope others will find it thorough enough to decide whether or not they'd like it as well. )br>br>For the past 5 years, I've worked 40 hours a week on a Wacom Intuos tablet doing 3D modeling and texturing on a Wacom Intuos tablet. I've never been able to justify spending the money on a Wacom for my own use. I started looking into alternative brands and came across the Huion website, where I discovered that the products were extremely affordable and that the reviews I read on other sites (Amazon, Reddit, art forums) were always positive and on par with Wacom. I decided to take the plunge and purchase the new Huion H610 Pro V2 tablet, primarily because the pen does not need to be recharged (unlike the other Huion tablets) and the size fits on my home desk. I'm usually wary of smaller brands with unusually low prices, but the price was low enough that I decided to give it a try. Here's what I've discovered about the tablet after a week of use. br>br>** Comprehensive Review*
I must admit that when I first unboxed the tablet, I immediately thought of this: "Wow, that's incredibly light. " " I'm not sure what materials were used, but it's definitely a lighter-weight option. " Wacoms have a heavier weighted plastic. Even the pen appears to be light and empty, as if sitting on it would be enough to break it. It's not a particularly unpleasant note; rather, it's something I noticed right away. br>br>The pen is a pleasure to hold, and the buttons function flawlessly. I have small hands and use the nib and two side buttons frequently for work and web browsing. I haven't noticed anything unusual about the pen. Even if there was an eraser button on the pen's top end, I would not have used it. Extremely responsive and comfortable in my hands, and I appreciate how light it is. Standing in the pen holder feels a little loose, but I don't think it's a big deal. Also included are 8 additional pen nibs in the pen holder, and it's great that you don't have to charge this pen because it's battery-operated. less. When I doodled in Photoshop, it never stuttered or slowed down, and pressure and button presses were extremely responsive. br>br>The total size of the tablet is approximately 9. 5" x 14". The drawing area is a full 6 inches by 6 inches. 5" x 10". As you can see in the photos, whatever appears to be the drawing surface is the actual drawing size, not a subset of the drawing surface like the Wacoms. You can draw all the way to the edge of the drawing surface, and it even recognizes when you go over the drawing surface and onto the tablet surface. If you feel that there is too much drawing space for you, you can adjust the size of the drawing surface in the software. br>br>There are soft touch buttons on the drawing surface, but I never use them and cover them with the drawing surface protector that Huion included with the product; unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the soft buttons before I attached the protector, which was extremely easy to attach and has a great texture that isn't too noisy or rough. It's firmly adhered to the surface, and I'm not even aware of it when I'm drawing. As you can see in the photo, I've lifted it to reveal the actual surface. There are also buttons on the tablet's side that have some cute icons. I don't use the buttons because I work in Maya, a 3D program that requires me to use keyboard shortcuts rather than the tablet's pre-programmed buttons. As a result, I'm afraid I won't be able to say much more about it. br>br>Now I'll tell you about the selling point that made the tablet a five-star product. IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH THE MOST RECENT WINDOWS AND WINDOWS INK UPDATE! At work, I've been having issues using the Wacom tablet to work on the latest Windows and Windows Ink updates. I initially assumed the problem was mine, but after doing some research, I discovered that many others have been experiencing similar problems since one of Windows' recent updates. Because of these issues, working on Windows is currently impossible for me, but I'm still here. This Huion tablet allows me to work. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Huion employees who figured out how to make the tablet work with Windows again. I can DRAG internet browser windows, I can RIGHT CLICK in an internet/desktop browser, there is no lag when I right click anywhere, everything works fine, and I can actually work.
. br>In addition, the software for setting up the tablet is very easy to use, and I can customize how I set up my tablet. For example, I have my computer tower on the right side of my desk, and the tablet's USB cord is on the left; at first, I was worried that I'd have an unsightly wire running across my desk, but I discovered that I can simply turn the tablet 180 degrees and tell the software that's how I want it, and it works! I can disable all of the tablet's and pen's buttons, have the tablet work on only one screen or both, disable Windows Ink, have it screen ratio'd to my monitor setup, or even create a custom drawing area. It would be nice if you could customize the button layout based on the program you're using, but I'm just glad it works for me in general.

This tablet/stylus combination is fantastic
5/5

Excellent value for money. I use Photoshop CC on a Windows 10 computer for my professional work as an artist. I'm on my fourth tablet, the 610 Pro V2. My first two tablets were Wacoms, my third was a Huion 610 Pro V1 tablet, and my fourth is a Huion 610 Pro Version 2 tablet. br>br>Thousands of hours spent with the Wacoms and the 610 Pro V1. On the 610 Pro Version 2, I'm now accumulating hours. This tablet has a great price. The sensitivity is outstanding. No matter which setting I use in Photoshop CC Brush Presets, the transitions are generally very smooth. The stylus does not require batteries, which is a big plus. br>br>At first, I was skeptical about the "tilt" function's utility. With the V1 stylus, I was perfectly happy without this feature. However, now that I've had plenty of practice with the tilt function, I find it useful on occasion. I had to do a lot of experimenting in Photoshop CC before I realized how important tilting the stylus could be. It is possible to achieve some very useful effects. br>Learn more about the tilt feature. Photoshop's "brush rotation" function is something I use. The brush does move around. However, as I change the stylus angle, I have yet to achieve a smooth incremental angle rotation. The brush angle rotates in 90-degree increments most of the time. I intend to contact Huion support to get some clarification on this. For size and fade, the stylus' pressure sensitivity is exceptional. The rotation sensitivity, however, is not one of them. Tilt isn't that important when painting, so it's hardly a deal breaker. br>This tablet/stylus is suitable for both beginning and advanced digital artists.

Recommendations that aren't so positive? really? (This is an update to my previous review; everything is fine)
5/5

So, I just got this tablet today, unboxed it, and took a look at it. What do you mean by light? It felt fine, and it was comparable to other electronic devices and accessories. I installed the driver and connected the USB cable, then tried it out in the blender with no pressure sensitivity. There isn't a lot of information on this on the internet. I uninstalled the drivers, rebooted to make sure no other applications were open, then reinstalled drivers and opened Blender again, and it worked. I've used this in Krita, Photoshop 2017, and Blender so far, and I'm very happy with my purchase. As a result of the negative feedback. really? br>br>I am satisfied with my finished product. br>br>- br>br>Review has been updated. br>br>After a few days of use in various programs with this product. Photoshop, Krita, and Blender 8 were used. (Grease Pencil) = 0 The problems I was having had nothing to do with the tablet's hardware, firmware, or software. There was no software CD with drivers included with the product; instead, instructions for downloading them from Huion's website were provided, which I accepted. Because I had a graphics application open during the installation, the first driver installation was problematic, and the device did not function properly. There are clear instructions to close all applications before installing drivers. I uninstalled Huion's software, restarted my computer, closed everything, and then reinstalled the drivers, and everything worked as expected, and the tablet is fully customizable through their software interface. br>br>This is my system. My computer is an MSI laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor. I have an 8 MGH, 16 GB of RAM, and a 6 GB NVIDIA graphics card, so any lag I experienced was due to software, not hardware. Graphics programs are resource intensive and put a strain on your system; if you don't have enough resources available or resources properly allocated to said software, you'll have trouble working with larger files, tablet or not. br>br>Quality of the line? It took some getting used to using a tablet and determining what was a hardware issue, software issue, or user error. The pen is very sensitive and will show every mistake. In Blender's Grease Pencil, I used auto smoothing to compensate for my shaky hand and it worked great and felt natural like I was sketching on paper, so it was no longer an issue. I didn't find an adjustable auto smooth in my version of Photoshop, but the latest version, according to what I've heard, does. Krita crashed a few times and has known issues with open GL that were broken after a Microsoft update, which made figuring things out a bit buggy, but once that was resolved, I discovered that I could use their settings to set up auto smooth and improve line quality there as well. I think a good base for sorting out issues is to unbox the product, set everything up according to Huion's instructions, then use Microsoft Ink to test the tablet and pen and resolve issues so you know what's what if it's the hardware, system, or software, and then move on to the applications you'll be using the tablet with. br>br>one last thing on line quality, another thing I realized was that sketching on a letter sized document at 72 or even 100 dpi with a 10px brush is going to be problematic and look horrible vs. a 10000 X 7000 px document at 300 dpi where I have more pixels to represent the line, the image quality and line quality will be far better and print better with the larger document size, of course adjust the numbers to work with your br>br>What are the disadvantages? In reference to the pen's design, directed at Huion. Please give me two switches on the pen that I can't find with my fingers, make their profile higher so they're in the way enough for me to figure out where my fingers are on the pen, and two flat spots on the sides incorporated into the grip for orientation. Also, seriously, you can't put a third switch on the back end of the pen to act as an eraser; would that break Huion's bank account? To summarize, I found no issues with the hardware or drivers for this product that were not self-inflicted or caused by the limitations of my own computer and or software that I used the tablet with; one minor complaint that I have been able to happily deal with is that the pen requires a couple of minor changes. Check the software you're using with the tablet for tilt settings in your brushes, and adjust them if necessary; my tilt only seems to work as well as my ability to set up the software for it. br>br>That's all from me as a happy Huion customer, and I'm looking forward to using their products in the future. Added note: br>br> This is a perfect match for Autodesk Sketchbook (which is now available for free).
