Questions & Answers

Is this something that can be done with Krita?

Yes, it performs admirably.

Is there an alternative to using the CD to install the software for this tablet on my computer? I'm asking because I don't have a CD drive on my computer. ?

Yes, you can easily find huion drivers on the internet and download them. I did this for my daughter's computer and had no problems.

Will it be compatible with Windows 10?

Yes. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CC 2017 are installed on my Windows 10 computer. I've also had no problems using it with the Win10 Sketch Pad and Screen Sketch features, though it did fail to load during one boot sequence, but a reboot seemed to solve the problem.

Is it possible for a left-handed person to use the tablet and glove together?

The glove can be worn on either hand, and there is a right-handed version available. Where you set up the express keys on the tablet, there is a left-handed option in the menu.

Selected User Reviews For HUION H420 USB Graphics Drawing Tablet Board Kit

Fantastic graphics tablet for a beginner! I bought it for myself because I'm a casual and inexperienced Photoshop user who enjoys creating Roblox clothing graphics
5/5

I needed a way to make smoother lines, and this one had good reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. When you insert the CD and select your operating system, a drivers window appears, from which you can select your tablet from a list of available drivers. This starts the software installation process. If you have no prior computer experience, this may appear perplexing, as installation does not occur automatically, and connecting the tablet to the computer does not cause it to recognize which tablet model it is. br>br>For the price I paid, this tablet is incredible; I can't believe how much it can do. It has three buttons on the side that can be used to switch between controls in the graphics program I'm using. With the buttons near the tip of the pen, I can change the brush I'm using. The strokes are smooth, the curves are beautiful, and the pressure changes are flawless. It was truly amazing to see how much could be accomplished with such a low-cost tablet. br>br>Because you can adjust the pressure sensitivity and screen size to match your display in the settings, I had no trouble drawing in Photoshop despite the drawing tablet's small size. This is something I really enjoy. It's ideal for someone who is just getting started, or who is very casual and doesn't do much with graphics and wants something to use on a regular basis. br>br>The tablet came with replacement tips, cleaning supplies, and a protective sleeve. The pen came with a battery and tips that could be replaced. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I'm glad there was a low-cost option available for newbies. Use of a lever in graphics programs.

- UPDATE - br>br>7/1/17 I just purchased a second one for my mother, who is an artist and has never done digital drawing before. She had previously purchased another brand for $100 and stated that it was terrible and that she was extremely disappointed. I gave her Huion as a recommendation and then bought her this one. She couldn't believe her eyes when she saw it. She's head over heels for him! She uses it in Adobe Illustrator and is completely enamored with it. I'll keep recommending it to others.

Every second of it is a joy for me
5/5

If you're new to drawing on a tablet, this is the tool for you. The price was the best I'd ever seen for a drawing tablet, and the extras it came with were the cherry on top. The only disadvantage is its small size, but if you have a laptop with you, this makes it ideal for travel drawing. I spent about 5 hours drawing this in firealpaca, and I believe it is the best drawing I've ever done.

Basic drawing tablet with a nice finish, but not up to professional standards
3/5

Because of two factors, I had to return this item. But first, let's start with the positive. I was impressed with the quality for the price, which was well below Wacom's and arguably the only competitor to emerge. The pen is well-balanced, and I have to say that I prefer the tip to Wacom's. The pressure sensitivity is excellent, and the accuracy is excellent. I had my doubts about the tablet because it was so cheap and light, but once it was plugged in, it felt very natural. The extra swag the company included with the tablet (a cleaning kit, a glove I'd never wear, and a felt case) were all nice touches that added to the positive experience and, if someone were buying this as a novelty item, would almost certainly improve their product satisfaction significantly. br>I, on the other hand, am a full-time designer who relies on these tools to get the job done every day. (Rereading this, I realize I should have just bought the standard Wacom to begin with, but it's always fun to take a chance on the underdog. ) At this price, it's an added bonus. )
1. There was a problem during the first day of setup. When working with artboards, most designers only have one pen button to right/control-click. To Pan, click and hold the other button. Scroll. The only options provided by the driver are to scroll up or down (though even this interface is strange; you hover the pen over the button and move up and down without touching the tablet, which is strange and inaccurate to pan; it takes a lot of wrist flicking to get around this way- For example, a typical web publication may consist of 17 wrist flicks. You can only use this one way, depending on whether you choose to scroll up or down, and you'll have to rely on your touch pad or arrow keys for the other direction). Aside from that, none of them allow for complete panning. or by scrolling in all directions (up, down, left, and right). Because many design programs have a shortcut key "space" that activates panning, I was willing to get used to setting the pen button to "space" and using my laptop's touch pad for all other programs that didn't use the space bar as a pan shortcut. It was inconvenient, but not insurmountable. If you google it, you can find a fix that involves downloading an additional program created by someone, but it's an exe file that only works on PCsbr>br>2. My computer would only recognize the device 25% of the time the second day and I would have to keep replugging it in for the second day and I would have to keep replugging it My MacBook Pro is the most recent model, and there appears to be a compatibility issue. br>br>Between this and the problem mentioned above, I couldn't help but return it. Changing my behavior, as well as having to reset the device on a regular basis, slows down my workflow far too much for me to give this a chance. However, both of these issues are software-related rather than hardware-related, as the device works well and feels good when in use. Hopefully, they will be able to release a driver update (which should be fairly simple) to support designers who require pan scrolling as well as improved recognition on Macs, which the majority of designers still use.
