To install a Kingston SSD into my computer, I purchased this adapter. The SSD attaches to the adapter via screws from the top, and due to the recessed screw holes and length of the screws, it can only be installed with the top of the Kingston SSD facing up. Then I discovered that the adapter's threaded side mounting holes aren't the same size as hard drive mounting holes, so my mounting screws wouldn't fit. I had to enlarge the holes to fit a standard hard drive (6-inch). 32 NC) so that I could hook it up to my computer's hard drive cage. In addition, the adapter's mounting holes are slightly offset, so it will only fit into the cage upside down when compared to the hard drives. The power and SATA cables must be rotated 180 degrees in relation to the rest of the hard drive cables as a result of this. br>This adapter is not something I would buy or recommend to anyone.
I've bought brackets from three different vendors so far. This is the only one who placed the side holes in the proper location, so it's perfect for me. The 2. The mounting holes for 5" drives cannot be moved to the side to align the SATA connectors with those of a 3. There would be no room for the side mounting screws if you used a 5" drive. The following are some suggestions for how it could be improved: 6 - Tap the side holes 32 instead of metric, though metric is more common in most countries. Place the side holes slightly lower on the side, rather than in the middle, so that they are in the same vertical position as a 3. 5" drive and shorten the side by the same amount, allowing the bracket to be mounted upside down if desired. Aside from that, it's the best bracket I've come across thus far.
DO NOT BUY if the connectors are not aligned. So I bought a set of these, and they work pretty well for mounting a hard drive in a 3. 5" slot. If you expect the SATA connector to be placed in the same location as a 3. You will be disappointed, as I was, if you take the 5 drive route. This isn't a true conversion because the connector is moved a long way. br>br>For the price, it's a good adapter if you don't mind the SATA/POWER connector being in the wrong place. My system has a unique housing design that necessitates the use of a 3. For a 3. 0, a 5" drive and connector must be placed in the correct location. 5" drive.
Form, fit, and function are all perfect. I'd buy them again without a doubt. br>br>If they don't meet your "special" requirement, you'll need to do more homework ahead of time. This is exactly what they say they are. There is nothing else to say. There will be no compromise. br>br>I'm not an engineer, and I'm not in the information technology field. I didn't get these for free or at a discount, and I only write reviews when I feel I have something to say.
I bought a two-pack. pack. The delivery was on time. br>Mounting screws were included in the package. br>br>It was very simple to set up. The SSD mounting holes were a good fit. br>br>One thing that worries me is that both mounts have extremely sharp edges, making it very easy to cut yourself - Alternatively, it could be a problem with your cables - I recommend that you handle and route cables and connectors with caution on these mounts. br>br>Overall, these are basic mounts that do their job well. The cost is also reasonable.
The screws that came with it didn't fit very well. In order to work with my toolless mount brakets, the holes for mounting the bracket to the PC had to be drilled out. Having said that, it's a solid bracket. It does what I wanted it to do with a little modding and my own screws. If more are needed in the future, I will purchase them again. On the next go-around, it'll be less obnoxious- I'm going to do it this way because I'm aware of the additional steps that must be taken.
It's nice and simple to set up.
Instead of a disc, 5 SSDs were used. It worked flawlessly, and the included screws were excellent.
