Questions & Answers

There's no way to know for sure because there's no picture to back it up. On the link that the two. Is there a notch between the power and the sata interface where the 5" drive connects to, and if so, will it accept a SAS drive?

This is a Solid State Hard Drive Adapter for the 2nd generation. 5 to 3. Holder for five spaces. For a desktop hard drive slot, you'll need this.

What about power if I want to install a notebook HDD in my desktop for formatting purposes?

All of the jacks on this adaptor are the same as on a full-size amplifier. a SATA hard disk drive of a reasonable size This allowed me to install an SSD in my 2012 (old-school) MacBook Pro. Mac Pro (Case Style) It simply screws into the bracket that would normally hold the HDD, and then the same cables are plugged into the adaptor's jacks/ports. You'll have to check the pictures because it's been too long for me to remember, but I believe the adaptor has mounting holes (for the screws) on both the top and side. Because I have a Mac Pro, I used the top holes, which worked perfectly. br>If your Mac Pro is older than mine, you'll need to screw the bracket into the carrier and then slide the carrier into place (because Apple has the SATA plugs in fixed locations in the back). If you're using a PC with hand-connected SATA cables, simply connect the 3. Install the 5" drive in the bracket as you would any other SATA drive, and then manually connect the cables.

SATA 2 is installed in my imac. 3 GB/s interface (0 interface). Is it possible to upgrade the speed to sata 3 with this product? 0 (six gigabits per second)?

Greetings, Steve Li, and thank you for your inquiry. The SATA I, II, and III are all supported by the NewerTech AdaptaDrive. However, you will only be able to get drive speeds if your computer has a compatible interface. If you have a SATA II interface, you will only be able to access SATA II speeds; you will not be able to upgrade to SATA III speeds. With at least a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD, read/write speeds are slowed
3/5

I've had one for about 3 years, and used it to install a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD into an OWC enclosure designed for 3. I've had one for about 3 years, and used it to install a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD into an OWC enclosure built for 3. 5" drives are available. And everything went smoothly. br>br>I wanted to compare relative access speeds between the Samsung SSD in the Thunderbolt 2 enclosure and the OWC USB 3. 0 enclosure. 0 (3. 1 dock for Gen 1 To my surprise, the read/write speeds in the Thunderbolt enclosure were SLOWER, which I didn't understand. So I plugged the SSD directly into the backplane of the Thunderbolt enclosure and wow and wow and wow and wow and wow and wow and wow and wow and wow and Adapt-A-Drive. br>br>I'm thinking the Adapt-A-Drive Because the drive was defective, I ordered a replacement from Amazon in 2020. The story is the same, so the problem isn't with the Adapt-A-Frame itself. I had a USB drive with me. br>br>If slower speeds aren't an issue for you, this device could be useful. If you don't like the Fenlink 2, you can try another similar product. 5" to 3. 5" Internal SSD Hard Drive SATA Drive Converter (which worked flawlessly, with no noticeable slowing of read/write speeds.

For my Apple iMac 27" 5K Retina, this is an excellent solution
5/5

This adapter is of excellent quality and well worth the money. My Apple 5K iMac 27" late 2015 model received some upgrades recently. I needed to replace the Retina display, and while I was doing so, I upgraded the hard drive as well. This adapter was a total success. There's no need for any additional heat sensors or anything. br>br>Steps to follow: I took out the previous three. 5" drive, transferred the old drive's small black drive mount screws to the NewerTech AdaptaDrive bracket, slid in the new SSD/bracket in place, anchored the drive to it (screws provided with the bracket), and then screwed the entire assembly back into the iMac hardware mounts where the old drive was. It took about 15 minutes to complete the task. br>br>I installed my new 5K display (with the help of some iFixit tools and adhesive) and was back in business in no time. br>br>The iMac is running smoothly. I highly recommend this adapter product!.

I've found that this is the only drive adapter that has the proper 3
5/5

Screw thread and mounting positions for a 5" drive. Special screws for mounting are sometimes included with PC cases. However, all of the other two are 5" drives. I've seen 5" adapter brackets that either don't have enough screw holes in the right places or have the wrong thread pitch. When you've decided to stop wasting money on all the cheap adapter brackets on the market, spend the extra money on the one and only adapter that's properly designed and well-made. made. br>br>Note: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "creative By unscrewing the small circuit board and connecting the power and data cables directly to your drive, you can bypass the little circuit board.

Quick
5/5

Simple. Easy. It'll only take you a minute! Attach the SSD to the bracket with four fine-thread screws (included), then the bracket to the slide rails with four rough-thread screws. Screws for threading (included). It's worth noting that slide rails with quick release pins may not require the roughing-in process. screws that are threaded This is the second adapter of this particular brand and model that I've used in a business setting, and I intend to purchase more.

Simply put, it works
5/5

When using a 2, you'll definitely need this adapter. An iMac has a total of five drives. The adapter shifts the drive connectors to line up with the iMac's short cables. This product is extremely easy to use. The item makes it simple to put the 2 together. The iMac has a 5 inch hard drive. Otherwise, you'll waste a lot of time and money on an installation that isn't very reliable.

THIS ITEM IS FINAL SALE AND CANNOT BE RETURNED
3/5

These items were purchased in twos by me. One of them wasn't able to be used. I attempted to return it, but it was not returned to me. WARNING. THIS ITEM IS FINAL SALE AND CANNOT BE RETURNED. You seem to be stuck with it if it doesn't work. br>Because I haven't used the working unit for a long time, I'm not sure how it will hold up over time.

Worked! This was ideal for holding a 2
5/5

When replacing a factory-installed SSD, use a 5" SSD. In my late 2015 27" iMac, I have a 5" Fusion drive. I'm not sure why a pass would be considered a failure. It included 8 screws (2 sets of 4) in a baggie that are only slightly different, so I had to go through them all to identify the ones that would actually fit correctly, while the other 4 went unused in my application. Dell Inspiron Desktop with Samsung SSD, which has been updated
5/5

I'm not a computer expert, but the NewerTech AdaptaDrive 2 allowed me to replace the hard drive in my Dell Inspiron with a new Samsung SSD. 5" to 3. Apricorn SATA Wire Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit with USB 3. 0, a 5" Drive Converter Bracket, and a 5" Drive Converter Bracket ASW- ASW- ASW- ASW- ASW- ASW- A USB3- The Apricorn software failed to function - I tried twice and both times it completed the task without errors - However, I was unsuccessful. I was, however, able to use the Apricorn USB 3. 0. 0 to SATA cable and the Samsung Migration Software (free online download) to seamlessly transfer all of my files from my desktop to the SSD. Installed the SSD in the Dell computer and powered it up; everything was the same, including the hard drive data, favorite websites, Windows, and so on. - It's a lot easier to reboot, etc. when you've got the right tools.
