First and foremost, I purchased this item for professional purposes. I'm a teacher, and I'd like to use the speakers when we're watching videos on the computer. I had the speakers for a week at school, and the first time I used them, I plugged them into the computer's headphone jack. It was a perfect fit. The metal piece that goes into the computer, however, stayed in the computer when I tried to remove the headphone jack. The cable was of poor quality and had a fault. I bought the product protection plan and used it to file a claim. My claim was quickly turned down. Because they don't cover accidents, it was turned down. Pulling the jack out was clearly not an accident; it was clearly a poorly made product. How is pulling the jack out an accident? I'm really curious. How?.

UPDATED.   These speakers appear to be fantastic at first glance. The sound quality was excellent, the bass was appropriate for the product, and I was completely satisfied. br>br>Then the left speaker died 48 days later. There was no sound at all. None. I tried picking up the right speaker to see if the wires were loose or something, but it died as well. The power connection inside the speaker casing on the right speaker is loose, but I'm still stumped as to what's wrong with the left speaker. Notice how the green power indicator turns on and off as I move the wires in the video I posted. br>br>Since it's past Amazon's 30-day return policy, I'm stuck with them for the time being. I've filed a warranty claim, but I haven't heard anything from Logitech since I filed it. Unless you're looking for speaker-quality speakers, spend your money elsewhere. paperweights in a variety of shapes - These speakers do not produce sound for an extended period of time. br>br>UPDATE: November 10, 2017: I've waited 5 days for a response from Logitech after filing a warranty claim, and I've received nothing but an auto-reply. When I first put in the claim, I got a message. br>br>EDIT (October 17th, 2017): After I edited this review on October 11th, 2017, Logitech Support contacted me. They gave me a list of steps I could take to fix the speakers that was essentially useless; Each step was self-explanatory, and I had already tried them several times before contacting Logitech. I replied on October 12 that none of these steps were effective, and I have not heard from them since. It's a real drag. br>br>UPDATE: October 25, 2017: Finally, Logitech approved speakers as a replacement for the faulty set. Their warranty service has been incredibly slow, but hopefully this will be the end of their customer service nightmare. br>br>UPDATE: December 20th, 2017: The communication skills of Logitech were lacking, but about a week after my previous update, I received replacement speakers. They've performed admirably thus far - in the same way that the first set did. In a few months, I'll post another update, but for now, I'm going to raise the number of stars I give the product to three from one.

Short list of advantages and disadvantagesbr>br>1. The cable that connects the two speakers is about 5 feet long. This is ideal for me because I have a 2-year-old daughter. set up a monitor I needed a pair with a cable long enough to put them on both sides, and these fit the bill perfectly.
2. The audio quality is excellent. It surprised me because my previous pair were a little more bassy, so I assumed something was wrong, but it's just better sound reproduction. I do a lot of audio recording (voiceovers for videos, podcasting), and my voice works well in these situations. It also captures reverb very well (damn reverb, I'm going to have to upgrade my audio setup next!). )
3. The highs, mids, and bass are all fine. They're not spectacular, but they're only $25. This is probably the best sound I've ever gotten from a pair of speakers that cost $25.
4. My previous set of speakers were powered by USB, which I despised. This makes me happy because they are AC powered (6ft long power cable).
5. The volume has a pleasant, high-quality feel.
6. The speakers are deceptively light and made of plastic, but they blend in beautifully with the rest of my setup.
7. The 2. The 5" drivers in each speaker do an excellent job. Also, these speakers can get quite loud before becoming unpleasant to listen to. If you need to fiddle with it, put it in the middle and use your computer's system equalizer.
2. These are enormous items! My forearm could easily fit inside. I wasn't expecting them to be as large as they were. It turned out not to be an issue (hence the lack of stars).

" I had them shipped, and it's winter, so it's possible they were just cold, but for the first few hours, I spent fiddling with every setting on my computer, trying to figure out why everything sounded so muffled. The bass was fine, but the mids and highs were a little muffled (like when your hand is placed over a speaker). br>br>I turned off the music, reset everything to default (where I had started), and left them to chill for a few hours; then, while I was out, I turned them up to moderate volume and, without using any equalizers, put some music on and left them to play for 5 or so hours; they sounded much better once they warmed up and got a little burn in. br>br>In most cases, I leave all system noises at default, but in Winamp, I selected a preset that slightly boosts the bass and treble. The lows and bass need a little boost to keep up with the mids, even after they've been burned in. I'm quite pleased with how everything sounds right now. br>br>They take some getting used to, but once you do, they're a fantastic pair of speakers that are probably among the best you can get until you get into 2. I purchased a second set of these speakers. My girlfriend's speakers died, so I gave her the ones I bought (which are still working after 7 months) and went out and bought a new pair for myself. The speakers were not subjected to the harsh, frigid cold of winter like the first pair because this time they were shipped during the summer. As a result, the issues I had the first time were much less severe and much easier to resolve. "Burn-out" is a term used to describe the It wasn't necessary to use "in" at all, and everything worked fine once I got the volume and other settings set up. With the first pair, it took me about a day to get them to sound good, but with this pair, it only took a couple of hours. That implies that the majority of the issues stemmed from the fact that they were cold when I first plugged them in. It maintains its 5-star rating. br>br> I purchased two of these and would purchase a third; I will update if either of these fails, but until then, I am satisfied with my purchase. br>br>I still think it's one of the best $25 speakers out there. I happened to notice this was the highest rated review while goofing around. Cool! As a result, I decided to provide an update. Both sets of these speakers (the ones I gave my girlfriend and the ones I have now) are still in perfect working order. Both of them are still fantastic. Even if these were to break, I would still buy them (unless I had some serious cash to spend on a serious set of speakers). br>br>I continue to record audio, though on much better hardware than before. These still play my recordings perfectly. They haven't caused me any problems at all. They didn't break when they moved, and they didn't even flinch when their motherboard fried. These are still the best $25 speakers available. Even after years of use, both pairs are still functional. Because my roommate works night shift, I have to keep the volume down these days, so I haven't used them in over a year (I've been using headphones). I turned them on and turned them up a notch, and they sound exactly like the old speakers I remember. Again, unless I'm spending serious money on serious speakers, these are my go-to budget speakers. addressing the audience I'm overjoyed that these are still available. br>br>*****Update December 16, 2017****
These are still for sale. They are still functional after three years. They're essentially permanent fixtures on my work surface. I would still recommend these to anyone looking for a good pair of speakers at a reasonable price.

In my small home office, the range and response are adequate for movies, music, and video games; I chose this 10W powered version over the USB version and was not disappointed. I also chose this speaker because of its attractive design, and I intended to mount it next to the monitors on my dual display to free up space on the desktop. This was fantastic- Please look at the pictures. I used a piece of aluminum angle that was screwed into the back of the speakers and bolted to the monitor mounts. I considered adding a bottom bracket, but the speakers are perfectly balanced on the top bracket. I'll probably paint the angle black, but for the sake of the photo, I left it unpainted. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be The stands can be removed by opening the case and removing four small screws that hold the stands in place, as I did. To open the case, simply unscrew the eight screws on the back of the speaker box. You must also pull the right speaker's volume knob and remove the retaining bolt and washer with a socket or needle nose pliers. Although the speaker stands should be easily removable, I didn't believe it was worth deducting a star for.
