Questions & Answers

Is it true that this item cannot be returned?

I'd like to correct something I said previously. I bought these after receiving assurance that they could be returned. After connecting them and double-checking all of my connections, I discovered that one speaker was significantly louder than the other, to the point where I could only hear the other speaker by pressing my ear against it. As a result, I began the process of returning it only to be informed of the following: "I'm unable to generate a return mail label or arrange for a return because the item is categorized as Not Returnable (Hazardous Material)." Please let me know if the item can be repaired because it is broken. If we are unable to repair the item, I can assist you in obtaining a replacement or a refund. "I was told to take it to a local store to get it fixed." Because I live in a small rural town with no stores to repair it (liquor store, mini market, beauty shop), Amazon offered me the choice of a replacement or a refund. This small-town girl who shops exclusively on Amazon gives it five stars.

What makes these T20s different from the T40s? Is the extra money spent on the T40s worthwhile?

More bass will be produced by the T40 speakers. has a higher output wattage (32 vs. The extra money (nearly double the price) isn't worth it because T20's are frequently on sale vs. The T40's are a type of vehicle. You're going to choose- an extra two points Basically, a 5" driver.

I'd like to know how tall these speakers are. I'm going with the number nine. 4 x 6. 9 x 8. The box size is indicated as 1 inch. ?

Front to back, they stand 7 1/2 inches tall. At the back, they taper down to 6 1/2 inches. They're about 3 1/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches long from front to back.

How far apart do the two speakers have to be? Would you be able to tell me how many feet there are? Thanks. ?

The cable provided extends about 4 feet. You could use an RCA M-100 if you require more. Using a single RCA plug, connect the F extension cable to the left speaker and into the right speaker. For low-cost, high-quality speakers, this is an excellent option.

As a result, I am familiar with speakers that produce good sound
5/5

I consider myself to be an audiophile. As a result, I am familiar with speakers that produce good sound. br>br>It's incredible that you can get this kind of sound for only $65! br>br>First and foremost, let me get this out of the way. A DEEP SUBWOOFER SOUNDING BASS IS NOT INCLUDED! NONE IN THE ELSEWHERE! With these tiny woofers/enclosures, you simply cannot reproduce that kind of sound. It's simply not possible. br>br>However! These had the potential to be fantastic, but they irritated me
3/5

I was hoping to fall in love with these. On my PC, I've been using a set of Bose Companion 2 speakers. They have decent audio, but most of what I'm "listening" to on my computer is YouTube videos and audiobooks with a lot of speech. I felt like my Bose were better suited for music, and some of the vocals were muddier than I'd like (and there's no quick way to change the sound without a dedicated EQ program,) so I tried these, because it was easy to change the audio settings from the remote, depending on what I was listening to at the time, and having the ability to use USB and Bluetooth was an added bonus. I put them together and put them through their paces. Yes, the sound quality was excellent! It was simple to adjust the EQ with the remote, and I noticed a slight improvement in the clarity of the voices in my shows - However, something didn't feel quite right. My show came to an end. About 10- I noticed 15 seconds later that the room was even quieter than it had been since the show had ended. Then, on my computer, I received a notification with a 10-digit code. It became even quieter after 15 seconds. While these speakers don't produce the dreaded electronic "hum" that some powered speakers do, they do produce a low, sort of air wooshing sound (as best I can describe it) when they are activated. I could hear it both when the audio was playing and when it was stopped once I realized what it was. For about ten minutes, there is a wooshing noise. After any sound on the computer, wait 15 seconds. What's that sound? It's an email notification. Another ten percent The speakers then go silent for 15 seconds while white noise plays. EVERY. TIME. It quickly became irritating and distracting for me as a person with sensory issues. I tried changing the settings and the volume, but the problem persisted. It's as if a processor or something in the speaker engages whenever they make a sound and simply waits for another sound before turning off. It's back with the next sound. I unplugged the audio cable from the Creative speakers and plugged it directly into the Bose speakers, just in case this was a normal thing I hadn't noticed with my previous speakers or a cord issue. Then I put it to the test. When the audio was turned off, there was no sound at all. After notifications, there is no latent wooshing; There was no sound at all. The ability to change the EQ and connect via Bluetooth with the remote was AMAZING, and I really, really wanted to keep these, but the wooshing is just too much for me. Many people are unlikely to notice or be bothered by the background noise, and for those people, these speakers will be excellent, and I am confident that you will enjoy them. For people who are sensitive to ambient noises and are using these speakers in an otherwise silent room, the extra 10-minutes can make a big difference. 15 seconds of white noise that continues every time your computer makes ANY sound can be as nerve-wracking as it was for me. Other considerations: br>br> br>Bluetooth connection was quick and simple, the remote was simple to operate, and the change of sound modes via the remote was subtle but distinct for each of the four options.

The volume on the remote ONLY controls the actual speaker volume itself, not the volume from your Bluetooth device. For example, with the physical s In order for the remote volume to be useful for you from across the room, you'll basically need the source (PC, Cell phone, etc) volume at 100% and control all speaker volume It's doable, but if that's going to be an issue for you, you should know ahead of time. br>br>Overall, I gave these a 3/5 star rating due to the wooshing noise and the remote volume setup, because either of those issues would have cost me a star.

Great speakers that are hampered by a "feature" in the firmware
3/5

If it weren't for the extremely inconvenient "standby mode," these speakers would receive five stars. The front-panel green light turns red after a period of inactivity, and the speakers turn off. Every time I use the computer, I have to remember to use the remote to wake them up from standby. br>I've never had to do anything like this with any other computer speakers in my life. br>Think outside the box - If you read these reviews, please update your firmware so that users can disable standby mode at the very least.

They're great, except they break all the time, and there's no Creative Support
3/5

I bought these speakers and used them for a few years before they stopped working completely. They're on my desk right now - br>br> Because the desk is built into my wall, they are never bumped or dropped. I hardly ever turn them off or on, and I rarely adjust the volume. Since I bought them, I've only used the headphone jack three times. br>br>Creative does not have an 1800 number. Their live chat appears to be indefinitely suspended. They promise to contact you if you fill out a webform. br>br>Awful product from an even worse company. This is the last Creative product I'll ever purchase.

SIX YEARS LATER, I'M STILL VERY HAPPY WITH THESE SPEAKERS
5/5

I was not disappointed by these speakers. I purchased this exact model from Amazon in 2012, anticipating that I would have purchased some replacements by now. I still use them, though. They were purchased to be used with a monitor connected to my Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. I needed speakers with bass and treble controls that could be adjusted separately. These controls allow you to fine-tune the sound based on noise restrictions or the type of video game you're playing. br>br>These controls are great because they allow for a lot of customization. You can turn the base down to hear no loud low frequencies, or you can crank it up to hear a very strong WOOF from these speakers. The same can be said for the treble. At the lowest setting, these high frequencies become dull and soft, while at the highest setting, they scratch your ears. br>br>I use the bass control to reduce base late at night, and the treble control to sharpen the sound in shooting games like COD and Battlefield. br>br>I haven't had any problems with the cable, sound, or controls in six years. Everything is in excellent condition and functions as it should. They sound great in general, especially when compared to most speakers in this price range, and the sound hasn't deteriorated or added any new hissing during my 6 years of daily use.
