A fantastic battery replacement
3/5

On occasion. Update after 5 years: I'm giving it a three-star rating now. br>br>In the last four years, I've owned three of these batteries. Two of these batteries worked perfectly, but the third I ordered only lasted 14 months, whereas the others I've had previously lasted years. I was disappointed by that result, and because it wasn't what I expected to be "usual," I contacted DTK to see if they could assist me since I was only 2 months past the warranty's expiration date. There was a resounding "no" in response to that question. They couldn't care less about the fact that I was a regular customer. So. Because this battery appears to be a good purchase only 66% of the time, I bought the cheapest one I could find on Amazon rather than another DTK. That one will be interesting to see how it turns out. If it works well, I won't need to buy another DTK, as it appears that spending more money doesn't always result in better results. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Update from three years ago: The laptop's battery now only lasts 20 minutes before shutting down without warning. It goes from 90% to OFF, and that is all there is. I'm disappointed that it doesn't accurately report the charge level, but I can't say I'm disappointed. I'm going to place another order and start over with what I hope will be another successful 2-. 3 years. br>br>Update from two years ago: In the last few weeks, the battery's performance has deteriorated dramatically. It died in less than a minute the day before. I spent 5 hours watching YouTube videos and doing some Googling. Today, I'm not sure it would have lasted an hour on YouTube. It's attempting the old trick of going from 30% charged to 0% with no warning now. The goose was cooked almost exactly two years after it was purchased, according to my calculations. br>br>However, I haven't been particularly gentle with this battery. It spends almost all of its time plugged in and never gets a chance to cycle properly to keep its health. Even so, I had no complaints for the entire 18-month period. It could run on AC power for as long as I needed it, and I didn't give a damn about the charge level. It was a carefree atmosphere. br>br>So, that's my cradle-to-grave experience with this product; I'm still pleased with it and will be purchasing another one soon to replace it. For under $30, I think two years of abuse and good use is a great deal.

- Original review: br>br> br>br>This battery had no reviews when I purchased it almost a month ago, so I took a chance and ordered it anyway, and I'm glad I did. br>br>This is a replacement for my Dell Inspiron E6410 with a large extended capacity. This size was chosen because it is the largest that will fit in my docking stations (Pro-). I have a 2X version). I believe a 12 cell is available, but it is too far out in the back to be useful. This battery is a perfect fit for the docks, and it resembles the Dell OEM battery in appearance. br>br>While your mileage may vary, I've found the battery life to be almost comically good, and I've tested it on two different E6410s in various configurations. I've let the battery cycle a few times since I got it, but the first time I did it, I had my i5 machine plugged into my TV, so the laptop's screen was turned off and I wasn't using the keyboard or anything. It ran for 7 hours, streaming content from YouTube and Amazon Prime. I had grown tired of waiting for it to run down so I finally gave up and plugged it back in somewhere around 2015% remaining. br>br>Next, I switched to my i7 (640M, I believe) machine. ) in a typical office environment for about three weeks for business use. It lasts about 5 hours with the screen on and set to regular brightness (the same as when it's plugged in), no effort made to conserve battery life (HDD always on, performance sliders all the way up, etc), streaming Amazon Prime music through my headphones, using an external hardwired keyboard and mouse, and doing typical office environment things like email/web browsing/spreadsheets/etc. br>br>In both cases, it was sitting on the dock, so the cooling fan wasn't turned I'm sure the run times would be reduced if you had it sitting on your lap or on a table. br>br>Having said that, I've never had a laptop that can run for more than 3 hours on a single charge, let alone 5. Next, I'll put it to the test in my i7 Nvidia graphics E6410 to see how it performs, but I don't expect any major surprises. I'll be overjoyed if it can play Bluray ISO files at 1080p for four hours. That's enough time to watch two movies, which is all I'll ever need. br>br>So, the short version is that this is an excellent option if you need an affordable replacement battery that will still fit in a docking station. Because I only take one laptop with me when I travel, I only need one "good" battery across my three E6410s, but at this price, I'm seriously considering buying two more so they're all ready to go at a moment's notice.

It does the job and holds a sufficient charge, so I'm satisfied for the time being
3/5

TL; I'm satisfied for now because it works and holds a charge. br>___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I'll make any necessary changes to my review and rating. My first thoughts were as follows: br>br>I needed a new battery for my Latitude E6410 because the original would only last about 10 minutes. A good number of reviewers gave this battery a near-five-star rating. After reading many of the positive and negative reviews, I decided it was worth a shot because the price wasn't too bad. br>br>The battery came in a brand-name box. The printing on the box was in English, but there was some Chinglish, so it wasn't fancy, but it was adequate for a Chinese import. The battery was well-protected by an ant-proof bag. The battery was protected from movement by a static bag and a box with minimal foam padding. A paper insert with the bare minimum of charging instructions printed in multiple languages was included. Again, the English was adequate, but there was some Chinglish thrown in for good measure. Physically, the battery appeared to be well constructed and in good working order. It didn't appear to have been used or abused in any way. It didn't flex or bend under mild stress, indicating that it was well-made. The battery fits snugly into the battery slot on my Latitude and is securely fastened. It's just the right size, and it's not too loose.

The box and the instruction card said for best performance to charge it fully and discharge it to 7% three times for There's no reason why I shouldn't follow those instructions, so that's what I'm doing right now. I'm in the middle of my second discharge cycle, which means I still have one more charge and discharge cycle to go. However, there are a few things that I'd like to mention that I've noticed during this process. br>br>According to the firmware of the battery, the battery model is a DELL PT43699. I'm guessing that's the original battery's Dell part number. However, a quick Google search turned up nothing for that part; regardless, this is a DTK brand battery, not a Dell part. It also specifies Samsung as the manufacturer of the batteries. While it's possible that they're sampling lithium-ion batteries, I'm skeptical. Even if the firmware information is incorrect, I am unconcerned. I'm not surprised, either, because this isn't the first time this has happened. Discount Chinese electronics manufacturers have a habit of engaging in unethical behavior. br>br>On the battery, there is a battery charge indicator. It was slightly inaccurate in my first test. It was more accurate in my second test, which I conducted later. It's possible that it simply needs to complete all of the charge/discharge cycles in order to achieve accuracy. However, because I do not use this feature, I am unconcerned. br>br>The million-dollar question is how long the battery lasts, which I am unable to answer at this time. I'm still in the charging/discharging cycle, as I previously stated. I'm charging the laptop until it's completely charged, as per the instructions. Then I will discharge to 7% of my capacity. To drain the battery faster, I'm running a stress program that maxes out all four CPU cores and hammers the Io. I'll test the battery after I've completed all of the cycles. I'll keep this review up to date as new information becomes available. To be honest, I don't expect this battery to perform as well as a Dell or other well-known battery manufacturer replacement. I don't have high hopes for this product at its current price. I'm just hoping it lasts a few years before I have to replace the laptop entirely. br>_____________________br>br>All of my charge/discharge cycles have been completed. I then recharged it to 100% and disconnected the AC adapter. I checked the ACPI power settings after letting it settle for a minute and found that there was 4 hours and 45 minutes of charge left at idle. After some research, I discovered that this is less than the original Dell 6 cell battery life of 5 to 6 hours, despite the fact that this is a supposedly 9 cell battery! It should have 50% more capacity than it has now. I don't think it's worth testing any further because the original Dell 9-cell batteries were rated for 8 to 9 hours. It is what it is, and there is nothing that can be done about it. br>_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I just looked at the capacity on the product page, and it says 3 hours! Could that be copied and pasted from their 6 cell battery? I'm too tired right now to check. That's a little more than half the capacity of the original Dell 6 cell battery. I'm getting nearly twice as much, which isn't ideal. I'm fine with it as it is right now.

It lasted about a year and a half
5/5

First and foremost, this is not a critical review. It's simply a summary of my battery experience. I bought the battery in July of 2017, installed it, and cycled it through the recommended two complete discharge/charge cycles. In my Dell E6410, the battery lasted over two hours. After about ten minutes, The time it took to complete a year was cut in half, to about an hour and a quarter. By 18 months, I was getting messages from the OS that the battery needed to be replaced, and my run time had dropped to around 20 minutes. When compared to the Dell replacement, which costs nearly $150, this is a good deal for a $28 battery. To replace this one, I intend to order another one from here.

Arrived on time and prepared to go
5/5

Simply plug it in and go. Excellent value for money. The battery was in perfect working order when it arrived. Without tinkering with the laptop's settings, it was up and running in seconds. I had previously tried a less expensive one from another massive website that purports to auction items. After going through a bunch of pointless steps to "fix" MY computer, it was DOA, and I had to return it for a refund. I ran it down to 7 and recharged fully 3 times to enhance the batteries life after this good one arrived. Holds a charge really well now. My E6400 now looks and performs like a brand new laptop. This purchase has made me very happy. Stop scouring the internet for a good battery and just buy one. One has been discovered. new br>.
