They are, in fact. I use mine for gardening and mowing all of the time. Although I believe they will be too hot for gardening in the summer, I have worn mine every day this spring.
You can choose from a variety of sizes. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 to 8, so I went with the size 8. They get the job done.
I am in possession of fifteen. 5" calves with plenty of room to spare. If your calves are particularly small, I believe you will have difficulty keeping them on your feet.

It's difficult to be in a bad mood when you're wearing yellow boots, even if it's a rainy, dreary day. When I walk around our property in these, I feel like a true Vermonter. They're perfect for slipping on for a quick run outside, and they're also comfortable enough to wear around for errands or tracking down your lumberjacking boyfriend when he gets lost in the woods.
I initially ordered a size 8, which is my usual shoe size, and while they fit, they were a little tight. So I ordered a size 9 to try on, and it fits much better, with plenty of room for thick winter socks. I'll be returning the size 8br>br>Black is a size 8, brown is a size 9; the difference isn't huge, but it's significant enough to count.
The laces on these boots appealed to me because they added a feminine touch to them. Lace, on the other hand, is a bad idea in practice. They untie easily, and with the types of tasks I do with them, they quickly become filthy. Who has time to tie their muck boots these days? Not me. br>br>However, the boot itself is sturdy. It's a little heavy, but you can tell it's made to last, and it's a little tight around the ankles to put on and take off, but not too tight while wearing. They prevent water from entering the building.
but cold. Because the boot has a narrow ankle spot, it's almost impossible to make a really thick sock. With a regular sock, it's difficult to get your feet in and out. br>Next time, I'd look for an insulated boot because we muck and work outside for about 3 hours at a time. Then there's the fact that this boot isn't particularly pleasant to wear.
These boots are fantastic! I'm a size 8 and ordered an 8 because it's true to size. It's simple to put on and take off. I would recommend going up a size if you want to wear thicker socks with these; otherwise, a pair of thin socks will suffice. They're easy to walk in and extremely comfortable, but they're a little heavier than you'd expect from a rain boot. The color combination is fantastic. It's more of a grayed-out olive green. The color of the soul is gum. If you're debating whether or not to get these, I strongly advise you to do so. You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase.
The edge rubbed my calves the first few times I wore it, and I was a little sore, but they are thick and durable now, and they are fine. They're a little heavy, but they're used to working outside, so they're up to the task. These aren't steal toes, but they've kept my toes safe from falling bricks while I was moving a flower bed edge.
The insoles' shape is ideal, with just the right amount of arch support and placement. These boots don't pinch or rub my thin feet, but they do slip a little. They are equally at home on hot autumn days as they are on bitterly cold, snowy days. Water is kept out. Excellent in every way.
These are fantastic boots! They're a little stiff, but that's to be expected when you're dealing with muckers. They do, however, fit perfectly; I ordered a size 8, despite the fact that I usually wear a size 7 1/2 due to my wide feet. So I went with an 8 and they're perfect; however, if I get stuck in the mud, I won't fall off my feet. THIS ITEM SHOULD BE PURCHASED. I think it's well worth it.
