Questions & Answers

What is the recommended size?

The sock guides are the same as the others. You can wear any size sock you're used to.

Are these socks durable enough to be worn both as a regular sock and as a workout sock?

For me, they serve as both. I believe you should try on a pair.

What is the relationship between the sizes and the sizes of ladies' shoes?

I'm a ladies' size 9 1/2 wide, and I bought the large size; they're a little long in the foot, but otherwise fit well; they don't slip around, but I'll get the medium size next time.

Is there a guarantee with Smartwool?

I'm not sure if they offer any sort of assurance. I find these socks to be extremely comfortable and supportive, and I wear them frequently, usually without shoes.

It all started with love
5/5

This is the best sock I've ever worn. Please don't say anything and just take my money. br>Oh no, these are ridiculously expensive, and they do take my money. br>br>I've been buying them as I can afford them, and I'll keep doing so until all I have in my drawer are these socks. br>I estimate another 8 years. br>However, they last a long time and provide the ideal cushioning, as well as a balance of coolness and warmth. br>br>I'm not going to run more than 2 miles in anything else. br>br>These ridiculous things make me laugh. br>br>Smart wool, could you please clear out some more socks for my third paycheck month? br>br>Oh, and don't ever change who you are.

Love Em! My shoe size is 7 for women
5/5

I bought a Medium. br>It's a snug fit, comfortable, but it doesn't shrink as much as some wool socks I've owned, so it's tight and squeezy after washing. br>Other sizes in this brand/style have been purchased by me. br>I can get away with a Lg in some situations, but not for running because it creates too much friction. br>Small is simply too small, too confining, and restricts circulation. br>br>This is the best sock I've ever owned. The socks are fantastic
5/5

It's ideal for running or other winter activities. I needed a wool-based running sock for a New Year's Day 5k where the temperature would be in the single digits. I love running in Balega Enduro socks, but they can't handle the cold (cold feet within minutes of starting my run). I didn't want a bulky sock because I didn't want to risk getting blisters or having my running shoes fall out of shape. I bought these Smartwool PHD's after doing a lot of research. I'm glad I took the initiative. They're extremely comfortable, and my feet never got cold during the race or subsequent runs in single digit temperatures. Apart from the obvious difference of being wool, they are slightly puffy/cushioned in the pressure points, but not enough to affect the fit of my running shoes. I am a 9. 5 women's shoe people told me to get a M, but I got a large. In hindsight, the M would have been better, but the large was fine for me. My only half-hearted attempt The ankle band is tighter than the Balega Enduro series, which was uncomfortable for a few minutes during the first wear. It must have stretched a little, because it no longer bothers me. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Great socks for keeping your feet warm.

Socks of the highest quality Period
5/5

This Smartwool sock is medium thick, with padding in the toe box and heel, as well as ribbed arch support. Over the last ten years, I've bought more than 70 pairs. I wear them on a daily basis - 2 pairs per day is not uncommon - Workout and then work out some more. Because my feet are narrow, I wear them for both casual and athletic purposes. These are the best sweat wicking, temperature regulating, sweat mitigating socks I've ever owned. I live in hot, melt your face off Austin, TX in the summer, and these are the best sweat wicking, temperature regulating, sweat mitigating socks I've ever owned. Years of hard water laundry (check), walking out on a long concrete drive barefoot to check the mail (check), sock dancing to my favorite tunes (check), and serving as dog ransom in exchange for a treat (double check) are the only ways they wear out.

I adore them
5/5

I went out and bought some more. These are fantastic, and I adore them. First and foremost, I accompanied my husband on a business trip to China and South Korea last year. I only had two pairs of socks for a 13-day trip due to a last-minute rush to pack. There are two of them. I wore them for a total of two days. I washed the one I wasn't wearing for three days while waiting for them to dry. Isn't it revolting? After long days of exploring Beijing, the Great Wall, Seoul, and the DMZ, there was no stench (yes, I smelled my socks every evening). I'm glad I came across them. You might be wondering why I didn't buy socks. Because their feet are so much smaller, the ladies socks I bought ended up fitting my 9-year-old daughter, who wears a size 1 shoe. The only disadvantage is pilling, which I can live with. br>On the left is the original one, which I've had for about a year, and on the right is a new one that I've only worn once and washed.

For running, hiking, and other outdoor activities, turn to socks
5/5

This pair of socks is AMAZING! I've been rotating two pairs of smartwool phd running socks (one thinner pair and one thicker pair) for 5 days/week workouts for the past two years. They last a long time and are well worth your money! br>br>Because my new shoes are black, I'm going to add this pair to my rotation - The other two pairs appear to be in good condition. In hot weather, I recall the slightly thicker variety feeling slightly warmer than the thinner ones - Wool is always breathable and moisture wicking, which may seem obvious, but that's what makes it so great. It's all a matter of personal preference. br>br>I'm an 8 and they're a perfect fit for me. These socks have also been an excellent addition to my long jungle treks in Peru, keeping my feet dry and free of blisters. They're simple to handwash, quick to dry, and perform admirably! These socks are fantastic! br>br> ps. br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br I'm wearing one of the above-mentioned white pairs in this photograph. It's the same thing, but white, and it's been at least two years. These socks have accompanied me around the world and remain in excellent condition. ' '.

Overall, these were superior to what I normally wear, and I would buy them again
4/5

I bought it on the spur of the moment because I had a race on New Year's Day and was anticipating rain and cold. I was worried about staying dry and warm in the rain. Although the weather was not particularly wet (thank goodness), it was significantly cooler than usual. I should have paid closer attention to the description of these socks because they were described as "light. " " These are thin and didn't keep my toes warm in the least. I should've chosen thicker socks instead. Overall, these were superior to what I normally wear, and I would buy them again, particularly if I were running in warmer weather. I've since used these socks to exercise and run on the treadmill, and they've been fine; however, I'm not sure I'd pay the same price for just one pair of socks again.
