I bought one pair of these socks (because that was all they had in stock) and five pairs While I am aware of the importance of only ordering one pair of anything at a time, I wondered, "How could you possibly screw up a pair of socks?" As for the Darn Tough brand (also a low-priced ) across the top of the foot and from the ankle away is too tight. Because I have worn some of these Darn Tough pairs just once, and some of them not at all, I'm donating them to a Goodwill. It fits like a dream, despite my disappointment, thanks to the Smartwool. There is no struggle to get on and the fit is snug, but not too A total of five more pairs of shoes have been ordered.

My overall attitude toward finances is frugal, and I kind of cringe when I pay this much for a pair of socks, but this is too good to pass up. I have never worn a sock like these before but I find them to be exceptionally comfortable and perform well. Over 10 pairs of Smarwool of varying types are in my closet - I wear them all year round. Running in these smartwool socks will keep you warm and comfortable. It is not a stretch sock, per se, but it conforms well to your foot and stays comfortable even after getting well wet. Wearing these every day is a must for me. As a warm-weather runner, I find that these socks do not make my feet sweat as much as other socks I have Also, I'm pleased to find that there are no material spots with seams that get bunched. This pair of socks does not have a seam. It's suitable for daily laundry (wash and dry) without being fragile. It is comfortable to walk around the house in them. It fits snugly in the foot well and stays in place. It looks like I have about six pairs, and will need to add two every four to seven weeks The six-month period ended on December 31, 2006 There is a reason for this - mostly since the dog seem to enjoy them too. This pair of Smartwool socks is just as great as all Smartwool products. The socks I use around the house aren't for running, and I am not a runner. There hasn't been a single problem for me so far. I can make the socks flip sideways with other socks, even those from higher-end brands, just by the way I walk so that they are almost upside down altogether. Socks like these stay in place, as they should.

Running narrow can be a problem

They're great socks, although the sizing is inconsistent from one pair to another. A pair of one color is not quite wide enough, so I bought 3 pairs of 3 different colors. Being that I have narrow feet, I have never experienced any issues with shoes or socks being too narrow. Despite the fact that I ordered the right size for my shoe size, the width may not be as big as I'd like It's great to use them as exercise equipment.
