I'm somewhere between a size 9 and a size 9 in clothing. 5 & I got a large and it fits perfectly, without being baggy. (I have the mediums and they are fine as well, but I believe the toe wears out faster in the tighter/smaller socks?
I found that they are 78% merino wool, 10% acrylic, and 2 % spandex on the internet . These are the best hiking socks! I have one pair that I took with me on two trips to Costa Rica and one trip to Ecuador. Smartwool performed admirably in both climates.
They don't quite reach the calf, but they're at least 2 inches tall. Socks that are perfect for winter activities and simply keeping your feet warm.
I'm not sure what they're talking about when they say "2", lol! It stands taller than any other ankle-high sock. Mine don't quite reach the mid-section. My calves are quite wide, so they may go higher on someone else's calves. I hope this information is useful.

I'm a size 7 in women's clothing. The first thing I noticed was that these have a LOT more synthetic in them than the previous ones, which must have had a lot more wool in them. The previous ones were comfortable and secure, and they stayed put. These, on the other hand, have a saggy, baggy feel to them. Like a strewn-out pair of slacks. I'm so disappointed, and even more so because I misplaced my original mate sock. These are ribbed in comparison to the old ones, which were fuzzy dense wool. When it comes to hiking, friction is a no-no.
Wool socks are my favorite because they are breathable and long-lasting. After a bad experience with another brand, I decided to try these. I ended up with giant blisters on my heels after a mishap with the wrong socks. These socks are thick, and I wore them with a silk liner to help prevent blisters. I ordered a large for women and am a size 9-10. Five pairs of shoes, all of which are extremely comfortable. They're extremely cushioned, and they make my feet feel fantastic while hiking. Blisters are no longer an issue!.
I've been a fan of Smartwool for a long time, and these are my favorite hiking/boot socks. They're cushioned, comfortable, don't cause any chafing or rubbing, and wick sweat away from my feet, which keeps them happy. They also keep my narrow ankles and heels from squishing around in my boots. br>br>I was a little concerned when I ordered these because I'd been dissatisfied with changes Smartwool had made to some of my previous favorite socks. However, when I opened the package, I let out a sigh of relief - These socks are identical to the ones I've worn in the past: The material is soft, thick, and well-made.
These are fantastic - These keep my toes and feet warm because I have poor circulation in them. However, I wish an XS was available. The size chart, in my opinion, is incorrect - I am a size 7 woman. 5 M (7 in heels, or 8 in boots/sneakers), but the size Small socks are still too big.
Excellent craftsmanship. These socks are one of my favorites and I have several pairs. They are both comfortable and well-fitting. My shoe size is 9B, and I bought the Medium size because they allow your feet to breathe and go with a variety of shoes. They're tall enough to wear with lace-up winter boots or hiking boots. I wash them in cold water and hang them to dry in the washer. Unlike some other brands, where comparing items purchased in previous seasons reveals how a company has reduced the quality of its products, these Smartwool socks are the exact same size and quality as those I bought a few years ago. All of the Smartwool products I've bought have been of excellent quality and have lasted a long time. I'm glad I came across this brand; it's definitely worth the money if you're looking for quality. They're just like the winters we have in northeast Ohio.

They're easy to put on and take off. The socks, unfortunately, do not keep my feet as warm as I had hoped. In addition, the socks became very nubby after four to five wears. (Note: To keep them from shrinking, they've only been gently hand washed in lukewarm water with mild detergent. ) I expected much better quality and much more warmth for nearly ten dollars per sock. This was my first purchase from this brand, and it will most likely be my last because the quality of these socks is not worth the cost/price; I cannot recommend them. These socks get a two out of five. Despite the fact that they are stars, they are extremely comfortable- They're not as thin, stiff, or tight as the bulk wool socks from Costco, and they're a lot more breathable. I bought some wool socks from Costco a few years ago, and they're still in good condition. Following a recommendation from the shoe store, I purchased these socks to go with my new Keen boots. My feet don't get too hot while hiking in the desert, and they don't sweat, so there are no blisters. I've been going on five-mile hikes without any issues. After a hike, my feet feel great, and I'm 73, so I need all the comfort I can get, and these socks are the best. I'll be ordering more pairs of these socks in the future.
These socks are the best; they last about 2 hours. At least 3 years; I've had these socks for at least 7 years, and I wear them in hiking boots as well as my work shoes. At work, I do a lot of walking, and the padded toes and heel come in handy. Every day, I walk 5 miles with my dog. At the ankles, they aren't too tight. They are well worth the money; I no longer purchase regular socks. My shoe size ranges from 7 to 10 and I wear a medium. They arrived at 7:50 p. m. I used to buy them at Dick's, but now that I'm using Covid, I avoid going to stores because they don't always have them. During the fall and winter, I do wear them. 5 stars.
