They run true to size, but you'll have to get used to wearing them without socks at first. Although they can be worn with socks, they are more uncomfortable.

If you get the exact size as the chart suggests, these will fit like a glove; however, my 5-year-old will outgrow them in a matter of months; I should have gone up a half size or more to ensure that he could wear them for at least a year.

These shoes are actually quite good, despite the bad size chart. I do wish, however, that the sizes were better explained. A size 3 for a girl and a size 3 for a boy, for example, are not the same. It would be nice if the shoe size chart included both boys and girls' sizes rather than just boys' sizes.
I recommend purchasing a size larger than your normal shoe size, especially if your feet are a little chubby. Aside from that, we're very pleased with our purchase!.
