These are very effective. They are waterproof and mud-resistant, as well as being long-lasting. I'm a farmer, so I wear these for 10 hours a day, 100 days a year during the rainy season. Bending, squatting, and kneeling on the ground on a regular basis. The rubber has proven to be extremely durable. Wet pants will result if the pockets are left unzipped. Patching them appears to be simple; if necessary, pvc pipe glue should suffice.
I wore it all summer in Alaska, where I worked as a salmon processor. I stayed dry and clean thanks to the coat. There was one small rip while getting out of an old junky truck, but no tears from normal wear and tear. Good buy.
It's as light as a feather, and it keeps you dry all day long without making you sweat. With a hood and a thermal long sleeve underneath, it's perfectly fine offshore in Maine in January. I'm sure it'll work well on rainy spring and summer days as well. The balder and similar grundens coats are probably half the thickness. This coat, however, will be ruined by the third string of the day if you have old rusted gear.
I have the Hercules bib, which is always way too stiff and thick, as well as the Petrus white one, which would suck and felt like water got through, as well as being wimpy and not fitting right. br>This new Neptune material is so stretchy and comfortable that it feels like you're not even wearing it. Let's see if any hooks poke through. I'm not sure how durable it is against sharp objects, but we'll see.
I am 5- I'm 10 170 pounds and the medium size was fine for me. I believe it would still fit someone a little bigger. br>.
I've already used it a couple of times. It works well for its intended purpose of protecting against rain and even cold weather. br>It's a good match. A little on the pricey side.
Outstanding craftsmanship! I ordered a large, but it was extremely large when I put it on. Then it occurred to me that it was designed in this manner to accommodate jackets underneath.
This is something I take with me on our daily walks for my kids' after-lunch recess. Warms and protects me from the elements.
